No wonder the Libs were screaming down the phone threatening legal action if channel nine didn't pull the worm. They succeeded in pulling it from the National Press Club, but Channel nine immediately crossed to a Sky feed and got it back on again.
I think Howard did as well as Rudd. Over 50% of viewers who SMS'd their thoughts thought Howard won the debate. A family friend who is a life-long Labor voter thought the worm was suss.
Howard was conservative and Stalin was Communist - total opposites of the political spectrum
Wow, I hope you didn't vote, you should get your facts right. Stalin was communist, Howard is conservative. Different sides of the political spectrum and completly different political beleifs.
This worm was so accurate, it measures 0% for Howard, when in the Federal election the Liberal Party received almost 4,500,000 1st Preference votes.
Bennelong was a marginally safe Liberal seat - it's not a huge shock that Labor won it. And I think that Howard actually won more first-preference votes than Maxine McKew, who I think got in because of the Greens; though I'm not 100% sure
Where on earth can you find coverage of more of the debate? Who really is the obstinate worm in all of this... Howard, Channel Nine the ABC.. Who knows?
