  • More than the fact that Superman ducks when the gun is thrown at him, why do the bad guys always end up throwing it at him??? We tried shooting him, that didn't work... I know, I will throw the gun at him! Like that is going to work!

  • Mrs. Lane was absolutely gorgeous

  • this superman is funny even my baby brother can knock him out

  • the world move on this is rubbish

  • Does anyone know where I can find that episode of Superman that is the porn version?

I was watching it a couple weeks ago, where superman flies in a window and fucks 22 women, and then flies across the street and fucks another 22 women, and then flies across the street again and fucks another 22 women?

  • oops....after

  • Was that bus driver checking out Supermans crotch afyer he saved the bus?

  • @eddie054 Yeah! He couldn't keep his eyes off

    Too funny

  • Hahaha, love that bus driver.

"Heyy come back a with my bus. Somebody crazy stole my bus"

  • Shoots him six times then throws the gun at him then try's to knock him out by breaking something over his head ... you dumass its SUPERMAN!

  • @freadoe4 Really!! I figured that the crooks in Metropolis weren't real bright to begin with: I mean to even set up a criminal enterprise in a place where Superman lived wasn't all too smart to begin with!!

  • George was anice guy but as Superman he was cr*p compared to Chris Reeves, Chris was born to play Superman.

  • @zapkvr Thats more like the other way around. My vote is for George, Chris definately was not as manly.

  • @zapkvr Sorry son, that's the other way around, George was way better and much more manly. Had the special effects and great writers been around in Georges time, the ball game would be completely over for any arguement.

  • @JohnnyBlade2000 I think you both are correct...for the time period. George Reeves was THE choice for the role as was Christopher Reeves. Over twenty years difference...it's a different audience that is watching...so the appeal will always vary to the viewer's tastes. Both were outstanding in the role-although hauntingly ironic both died so young in their lives.

  • @lttguys Your points are well made & should be taken by all.

  • Of course we all know the REAL reason Superman ducked the thrown gun -- the stuntman double in this scene, Dale Van Sickel, didn't want to be hit in the face with it! Dan Seymour (the crook who threw it) apparently threw the gun too high; if it WAS supposed to bounce off of Superman's chest, he threw it by mistake at Sickel's face. So Sickel had to duck!

  • @kirk6842 Are you trying to tell us that the REAL Superman wasn't there?

  • Look! Up in the sky! It's a turd! It's insane! It's STUPIDman! (with a 1940's suit)

  • melhor filme do ano

  • great editing, fun to watch, thank you.

  • Upload the making of superman and moleman it was filmed but not premiered they showed clips of behind the scenes in look up in the sky please do upload

  • If I am into CID Business I can prove it as murder. Do they have answers to these questions?

    1. The Bullets found on wall and on floor is from Reeves Gun?

    2. Did the bullet pass through and went either side of his head? If yes did they find that bullet?

    3. What did lie detector test with Leonore Lemon Tony Edie Mannix reveal?

    4. What was in the drink he had?

    5. Did Leonore Enter his room before his death?

If these are answered mystry solved.

  • Check out the bus ~ on the side it says "school bus" which is really informative. What the hell would we think it was? A UPS truck?????

  • I've heard that Lois use to bitch about sex in bed with Superman. She claimed his biggest problem was being faster than a speeding bullet.

  • What I always wondered about was the 'Stress Levels' of Lois Lane & Jimmy Olsen. After all, they were always looking down the barrels of guns & forever being kidnapped!! That's got to have a negative impact over time, Sheesh!!

  • @Nickcat5 Yeah, it's called PTSD . . . Post Traumatic Superman Disorder ;-)

  • What's up with the 'equipment'-starring... oh, television was so hilarious back then. XD

  • She was my favourite Lois Lane. Hated when the next one took over the part. She always looked as if she needed a wash. Totally unappealing. Phyllis was great.

  • so, superman leaves the kids in a bus with a dead driver?? eeeek.

  • lollllll the take off is fukin helarious

  • LOL He deflects bullets but ducks when the gun is thrown at him ?

  • He must have been gay before gay even meant a homo.

  • Remember watching all these shows when I was a kid. Never missed an episode. My brothers and I would run around the house with bath towels as capes. Was so sad when killed himself.

George Reeves will always be the ultimate Superman and hopefully will live forever in the hearts and minds of his fans.

  • @marbiguy -- He didn't kill himself. He was murdered.

  • Haha! I like how Superman knocks the pilot out for the sake of his identity.

  • An excellent editing job!

  • I would like to see Superman do a number on O.J. Simpson's ass.

  • That 1951 Nash that Phyllis Coates (Lois) drove in several of these "Film Noir" Superman episodes was the ugliest automobile ever manufactured in the United States.

  • did anyone notice the bad guy is fat?

  • @Darthlongi he looks like a young Victor Buono, who later became a great character actor

  • I'm 61 and loved these old shows. yeah bus driver sure was checking out Superman's "outfit". Ever wonder why bullets bounced off and he would smile but always ducked when the bad guys threw the pistol?

  • This plot is not exactly subtle.

  • @quesondriac this episode was edited out by half, that doesn't help!

  • Ha Ha its the first thing my wife said !! We are old enough to remember when this was state of the art . I have fond memories of these shows thanks for posting this.Superman is my earliest TV memory watching with my Big Sister'

  • In 1952, fantastic didn't mean good; It meant existing only in fantasy, i.e. impossible. Superman ducked because he didn't want to damage a valuable revolver. Superman was superequipped - the bus driver noticed it, even if Lois pretended not to.

  • Also, the "Look!" followed by a power-punch to the face... epic!

  • Bus driver: "Come back here! Hey, somebody crazy stole my bus!"

Superman: "His brain was fatally injured."

    Lois: "Well, that sounds FAN-TASTIC!"

The 50's were full of win. Also, sound effects are epic. Sounds like Superman propels himself forward using compressed air. Pew! Pew!

  • Your never to old to watch superman

  • Episode #95 - The Mysterious Cube

  • what episode has the concrete room that Supes vibrates his molicules in order to move thru?

  • Ironically, it was George Reeves' stunt double that ducked.. Not once did George Reeves as Superman ever duck when a gun was thrown at him. Just view the first season episode, Czar of the Underworld, as one example. There are many more throughout the six year run of the series.

  • 3:51 <-- GTA from the early 1900s

  • If Metropolis is NYC, or at least supposed to be in the East, what's up with the oil derricks?

  • i still watch the show at 55 years old i grew up with it and never let go. i liked this lois lane the best she was the first her name was phylis coates i believe

  • tv was so freaking cool to me back then lol i cant explain why...=) =)

  • They said the plane was fueled up and ready to go, then suddenly it's out of gas!

Also, besides ducking when the bad guy threw the gun, when he fired, he was clearly firing off to the left. Look at the angle of the gun and where the smoke is shooting. Also look where he throws the gun. Superman didn't even need to duck as he threw it far to the left also.

  • TV was better back then. Lawyers were actually honest and worked for justice (Perry Mason) and reporters were not the scum that they are now!

  • "My machine was never intended for a purpose as this!"

I built this brain-frying, mind controller machine only for the GOOD of mankind!

  • Today crooks..would wear masks that would cover their entire faces..so that no one would be able to recognize them.

  • 5:47

    "That sounds fantastic!"

    Seriously???

A person in front of them got injured to the point he might die and instead of being shocked, she says it sounds fantastic??O_O

    What the freak?

  • 5:42 - "Someone destroyed his ability to think and reason. The brain itself is fatally injured."

They've turned him into a democrat!

  • @UklaTheMokk Or a Tea-Partier.

  • wish Mr. George "SUPERMAN" Revees were still alive today! :0l

  • @tornmask

He never got the credit he deserved as an actor.

  • wish Mr. George "SUPERMAN" Revees were still alive! :0l

  • I loved both Phyllis Coates and Noel Neill, they were both spunky Lois Lanes.

  • i remember this would come on channel 5 when i was kid

  • How marvelously corney these old shows are.

  • "golly, it superman!"

hilarious. superman just stands there while being shot at, but ducks when the gun is thrown at him.

  • @tomitstube TAT MAY BE SO, BUT REMEMBER THIS WAS EARLY TV AND EVERTHING WAS STILL NEW.

  • Everybody brings this up, but what would YOU do instinctively if someone was to throw something at your face? Even if the gun couldn't hurt the Man of Steel, it would still be awkward and somewhat demeaning to just let it hit you in the face. Superman did what any other reasonable person would do -- he ducked and didn't allow the gun to smack him in the face.

  • @kirk6842 ~ your point is well taken, a reflex is somewhat believable.

one problem with that tho. superman's reflexes are so superior he would simply catch the gun or swat it away, or simply have the guy in his hands before the gun even got there. lol, the last thing he would do is just stand there and duck.

but alas it's a 1950's t.v. show, even i don't begrudge superman for ducking, it's just something fun to talk about now.

  • @tomitstube Everyone talks about Superman ducking but no one mentions the stupid gunman throwing a gun at someone who just had bullets from the same gun bounce off his chest.(Extra fun to talk about,eh?)

  • @tomitstube It may be very corny, friend, but I'll take Superman over the trash that's on tv in the past 10 years!!!

  • why perry don wanna b calld by jimmy chief?

  • @HARISHROSHAN

I always thought he thought "Mr.White" would be more respectful.

  • Fun to see those wire take-offs. Also, this shows the famous moment when Superman ducks, so he's not hit by the empty gun. But it wasn't George Reeves who ducked! It was the double they were using for part of the fight!

Why they felt they needed to use a double, I don't know. But if you look carefully, you'll see his hair isn't slicked down like George's was. And he's the one who ducked!

  • Please Upload the BEHIND THE SCENES of these episodes the flying technique is good in this episode

  • i'm convinced...EVERYTHING is on youtube. Except Megaforce it seems. Thanks for posting this.

  • @oldbob1951

What a homophobic thing to say! Everybody was closeted in those days--Joe McCarthy, J. Edgar Hoover...who'd've guessed that THEY were...shall we say "happy"? A school-bus driver had to mind his Ps and Qs to work around kids.

  • No one said anything about the man of steel dodging a thrown gun. He can withstand gunfire but not a thrown gun? Puhleeeese! hehehe!

  • @katanakeith LOL! From the time I was a kid, that was a long standing joke.

  • thank you so much for sharing

  • I'd love to have those cars. They'd be worth a mint now!

  • @spongeblog a stunt double was used 3 times during the moments Superman took flight. Look at the footage carefully.

  • This episode made use of the wire harness that George Reeves hated. He actually once fell several feet to a soundstage floor when a wire broke. That bus driver is paying a little more attention than he should to Superman's..shall we say...equipment???

  • @oldbob1951 It's not every day one sees a super...shall we say...package?

  • @oldbob1951

Do u know why they chose to not utilize animation at all the way they did in the Kirk Alyn serials? Was it about money?

  • @LovingScrubbies I think because the animated effects were not effective visually and done strictly as a cost savings measure by Columbia (probably utilizing their cartoon animation division). The TV effects, especially those done by Thol (SI) Simonson were very well done for that time.

  • Wow, this was actually pretty good. Much better than most of the later, color episodes.

  • More long play George Reeves episodes like this one would be great.

Thank you, the kids and I love them..

  • @spongeblog yes stunt doubles were used quite frequently during the filming of the series.

  • at 2:35 - Newman?!

  • @TheThreadshitter

    Hello, JERRY!!

  • Funny how Superman just stands there and does nothing as they are shooting him, and the bullets just bounce off. Yet, when the gun itself is thrown at him, he feels the need to quickly duck! I would think that if the bullets just bounce off him, the gun being thrown wouldn't be much of a threat. Maybe he wanted to demonstrate his quick reflexes in addition to his super strength.

  • @mrderekevan When the gun is tossed at Superman, you'll notice it's a different actor and not George Reeves when the gun is tossed at him.

  • @mythid12 Disagree. It's George Reeves. Why use a double just for that small bit?

  • @vantalge stunt doubles were used to prevent injury to star George Reeves. In this episode a stunt double was used for 3 separate take offs.

  • @mrderekevan Or maybe he didn't want to chance a knot on his head or possibly a concussion. :)
