  • I have a Omega But I didn't get attachments

  • I have a kirby classic CR1 - I'm trying to figure out how to attach the carrying handle. I've got the upright handle off - but can't quite figure out how to get the plastic handle bolted on. There's a metal slide (for the upright handle) that's in the way - doesn't seem to rotate. I'd love a video or closeup showing how the handle goes on.

  • @jafielden Okay. I'll see what I can do. Should have a video posted later tonight.

  • @general0ne fabulous - look forward to seeing it!

  • @jafielden Sorry it's been taking so long... been busy with work and such. Hope to be having a vid made in the next day or so.

  • Jay, wouldn't I think your machine is running at a higher speed due to the safety switch almost being broken or something? Or maybe a worn-out motor field?

(Of course, there's this whining noise I hear as the motor winds down.)

  • @ClassicTVMan81 Nope. It has a two speed motor. it runs on low speed when the floor nozzle is attached, high speed when the hose is attached.

  • @general0ne

I know it's two-speed and that it would run higher with the hose, but what I meant to say is that to me it is running a bit too high. I'd suspect either a bad field or a clogged ventilating air inlet.

  • @ClassicTVMan81 Nope. I'm pretty sure it's working properly. The sound may be a bit off because of the camera I was using, but it works fine with both the attachments and the floor nozzle.

  • Is the bag on this unit original or was it a replacement?

  • This was the original (or at least I believe) bag. It has the Classic Omega patch on it. I've since replaced it with a disposable bag setup from a Heritage II

  • @general0ne

Jay, this issue is confusing as there were three different bag designs made for this model, and two different ones for the Classic III.

On the 1-CB, the first bag was a diamondback (armored) fabric. The second one was pinstriped, and the last one was a throwback to the 1CR.

  • never new the 1cr had a motor speed switch

  • nope. It has the original cast aluminum fan. Why do you think it has the lexan fan?

  • He was confused due to the pitch and tone of the motor.

  • I think your Kirby has a white, plastic Lexan fan in it. The original was made of metal

  • @AdamMichaelMercer

The fan in this vacuum is metal. You're confused because of the tone and pitch of the motor.

  • @AdamMichaelMercer The lexan fan would be gray, wouldn't it?

  • @lucasmollet

The early ones were, but this vacuum has a true metal fan.
