I've seen a few brush dances and as far as I remember seeing, Mairtin is the only one who passes the brush from outside to inside under the leg (rather than from inside to outside). He gets big points in my book for that because I've tried the dance myself and I think it's much harder that way! Anyone else agree?
this dance was originally done by soldiers who used their guns to dance with as timen went and the dance became popular with civilians the brush repalced the rifle to use a south cork expression mairtins mad but in a good way
Not Mary, she is the Birmingham School of Celtic Arts, lol I used to dance with her a long time ago. I am the teacher with Alabama Academy of Irish Dance. We have been up and going for 5 years.
Well, I got AOL in like 1995, when you could only have 10 characters in a screen name and I was going to be georgiapeach, but that didn't fit, so georgiapea it was!
