1: when you pull down the rack you have to lift up the little handle-lever to get it to release
2: when you see the bus coming, notice if there is already a bike on it. if there is, you'll want to get your bike ready to be put on the front of the rack, so that the front tire is facing away from the curb. if there isn't a bike on the rack, turn your bike so that your front tire is facing the curb so that it's ready to be put on the back of the rack
