  • You've got to be joking!! Better than the original?? Rick Wakeman's intro is true class and Dave Cousins vocals are untouchable. A cover? Granted. Bettter than the original? Not in a million years ked.

  • Protestants knew 500 yrs ago, fled like africaans to what became america. now pope has embassy D.C., did Vatican II on majority prod country ended 'freedom of religion' in U.S., created "Liberation Theology" (anti-"anglo") 2 incite catholic ex-slaves in S. America against the most generational americans (english-scot-german prod), they lie on how many RCC in country by breaking down each protestant group; also attacks like WACO, (RCC critical sect) taking mormon children en masse texas, etc.

  • Moynihan is a great man. His undying devotion to the "European mans" cause will be marveled at one day. Thank you Michael. Hail to you brother. Keep it up, you'll be remembered as a hero one day.

  • Better than any other version IMO.

Blood Axis gave this song some new aspects and it's always great when the cover sounds different and isn't exactly the same as the original.

  • I had hoped this would be a worth while cover...but no, it's not. The vocalist can't harmonize with the song..hell, he's not even singing...he's just...talking dramatically.

...It actually isn't even that dramatic. His voice is soulless and robotic. The original song had soul and feeling. Hell, the last lines were some of the most powerful in the original song...

When this guy sings it? It sounds like he's trying not to choke on his own words...it sounds forced.

    This is...this is just bad.

  • @BlackCerberus You're a complete retard. Have you even listened to anything else Blood Axis have done? Or are you just one of those idiots who insist that older = better and total, trendy allegiance to obscure early bands is cool? The original was well performed, albeit typical folk/pop for it's time. This neo-folk interpretation is militant and far more fitting of the lyrical theme. Robotic? Your criticism is gay, it's like being disappointed at a hot dog for having a sausage in it. CONTEXT

  • @billrogers8

And I would have taken this counter-arguement serious if:

-You didn't open with "You're a complete retard"

-And didn't end with "Your Criticism is gay"

I might have actually considered your argument if you weren't a complete and utter douchebag. What a shame.

  • HOW THE FUCK DID I GET HERE?

  • " People with a voice like this have to be warrior"

haha he's the son of a Boston lawyer. He's never been in combat...people singing about war who have never been in one strike me as funny.

  • Awful , off-key singing. This is supposed to be an elitist creation?

  • Just awesome.

  • Way greater than the original, i think.

Michael Moynihan has got the most brutal voice I've ever heard. It's terrifying and sends me shivers everytime this man starts to sing. People with a voice like this have to be warriors. Imagine him singing that all people are created equal or covering some hippie songs, e.g. by the mamas and the papas...

  • This guys voice just doesn't do it for me. It sounds a bit uninspired compared to Dave Cousins.

  • I jego współczesna wersja :-)

  • 0:14 sense you wish to clear the streets of "whores." may I borrow a couple? preferably the sexist ones?

  • I have a love for David Cousins' voice that combines a mystical intensity and gothic angst that shaped me when I was 12 or so and my family life was in turmoil. I escaped into "The Strawbs" records and drifted away to a magical place of release but where my inner demons were recognized, given voice, and placated for a time.

I would love to hear more professional covers of their work! Much of it is of masterpiece status! And David's voice strikes chords in me I never knew

    existed!

  • No comparison to the Strawbs! The vocalists is robotic and off key. There is none of the turmoil and aguish that there should be. Very disappointed.

  • @ladyfuschia I didn't rate the vocals at first either, but you get used to them. I couldn't imagine Blood Axis sounding any other way, really.

  • @ladyfuschia You're absolutely right. No comparison to the intense atmosphere in Dave Cousins' dramatic performances (both in the original and in his live sets) !

    Humdrum and dull here ...

  • I love this song. I can't even describe how my mind see's this.

  • I love this fucking song.

  • Great cover. Very usual Blood Axis' vocals and the music is even better than in the original version.

  • Wonderfull cover, IMHO even better than the original...

  • it reminds me of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

  • Who are The Strawbs? ... but I think these vocals are perfect, in a sombre and subtle way! :(

  • The Strawbs made the original version of this song. Blood Axis covered it.

  • @HHimmler33

Think of an unheard more acoustic version og Jethro Tull.

  • I'd like to know more about blood axis and Michael...?

  • not a fan of the singing.

  • @senteron You must listen to the version by "The Strawbs"!! Now THERE's a voice!!

  • Okey, but not the best of Blood axis.
