  • Top hats, rockets, and Sally Timms! Genius!!!

  • Geiles Lied und virtuoses Gitarrensolo :-)

  • and roadie Mitch.

  • Mekons have had the same "ever shifting line up" since the mid eighties. Jon, Tom, Lu, Susie, Steve, Sarah, Eric and Sally.

  • she is awesome, thank god for great stuff

  • I love Sally Timms.

  • always reminds me of mark radcliffe in the 10 pm radio one slot :P

  • tis awesome. i do LOOOOOOVE Mekons! Check out "Cowboy Sally's Twilight Laments" and "Curse of The Mekons", Waco Bros (a little bit country, a little bit psychonaut).. the list goes on.

  • That is Sally Timms, teeny-boppers!

  • I think this is possibly the best band ever fuck yes fuck yes fuck yes fuck yes

  • Utterly brilliant!

    Proper soulful music!

    YES, YES, YES!

    :)

  • One of the greatest bands of all time and great dinner partners a long time ago in DC.

  • Awesome band

  • Mid 90's? I remember Radio One playing this frequently when I first arrived in Prague around 1994.

  • Mid 90's?

  • One of my all time favorite Mekons songs!

  • Another great song by the most Underrated band in history. Check out their cd

"Journey to the End of the Night" with the great songs 'Cast no Shadows' and

'Ordinary Niight' and 'Tina' and the magnificent 'Last Night on Earth'.

  • When I first heard this song, it was on 120 Minutes in 1993. I was 10. I've been looking for it for 12 years. A buddy of mine tonight told me the band was 'The Mekons'. I had to search for almost ten minutes to find this video. THANKS!

All I had remembered of the song was "Stretch out my bones" - he knew immediately who it was.

This really is one of the truly great alternative songs of all-time. Y'know - before the hipsters got to it. Now it's just "Indie" and it sucks.

    Bleh.

  • Boss tune...

  • Nr. 1 Track

  • They won't let me embed this, so I can't make it the Stolen Tuesday Morning Pony track, but I still wanted you to hear it. I sat next to a woman on a plane last night who had an English accent and looked a little like Sally Timms.

  • Yep!

    One of the best ever!

  • Strangest band I ever interviewed... but I LOVE them!

  • one of the best bands ever

  • I've been looking for this for fuckin years !! This has to be late '80's or so.

  • This song is a fine critique of "love" and an examination of love (archaic and modern), the market and concrete truth, as is, for all to see and hear, obvious and self-evident.

  • Great! Thanks for sharing!!!

  • Excellent

  • I'm the biggest Mekons fan west of the Mississippi. I have every cd of theirs, and all of their many side projects. Their live shows are almost always great. God bless the Mekons.

  • you missed it if you weren't there when gibby haynes sang this song with them when sally was sick.

  • Man, I HEART Mekons. This sounds like Blondie to me.

  • top track

  • Sally Timms singing, right?

  • correct

  • What was that about Ross Perot? I though they added that later when the song became Billionaire.
