But when the video of Knight choking Neil Reed surfaced, I was done. Immediately I realized that was indefensible. I wanted no part of it. In the end the General got what he deserved, just like MacArthur.

Knight is a great coach that will never get the respect that should come to him. And you know why? Because he did more than enough damage to his reputation than he ever did to help it. There's a difference between discipline and abuse and he crossed that line too many times.

Bobby Knight was a brilliant basketball strategist. Bobby Knight was also a prick. There's a line between being a hard nosed coach who demands results and an over-the-top asshole.

@MattRebel25 uhm, he did not choke out a student for addressing him by his first name. he grabbed his arm and reprimanded him and it hurt so much that the stupid kid couldnt even remember which arm it was the next day. it was a set up. as far as the kid he put his hand on his thoat for two seconds during practice, from what i have heard of how that kid was behaving and talking to coach knight during practices i am surprised his team mates didnt beat him silly with a bar of soap in a towel
