I can usually play a few notes above high C (two ledger lines above staff) I can hit a D pretty consistantly, and sometimes an E or F. F# is my highest note so far =)
Is that all you have on this guy? You can play mary had a little lamb with good phrasing and based on this video you are unsure if he can? You are a douche.
Also, octaves don't have to start on C. from F# to F# (12 Chromatic Tones) is an octave, so is D to D and so on. An octave is an interval, and an interval is the distance between any 2 notes.
When speaking about musical theory (the keyboard) that is true. However, different terms have been developed for trumpet and flute. A flutes "high C" is a trumpets "double high C".
no, a flutes high C is a trumpets high D and octaves do not start at C. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A MIDDLE B. Your knowledge of music is like a person thinking that there are 15 notes.
Please shut up, you obviously have no idea what you're talking about, troll. Octaves DO start on C. Why wouldn't there be a middle B? It's right below high C(above the staff). Double B would be the note under triple C(2 octaves above high C above the staff).
for double B you could just say B2 and for triple C you could just say C3. If there was such a thing as middle B then it would be under middle C. Why middle C is called middle C is because it's the middle note. in other words, it's the note that connects the bass and treble clef. If you were in the C major key than octaves would start on C. But if you were in the key of G#, for example, octaves would start on G#.
It's just like chords where if in the key of C, unless your talking about a half cadence, you would always have to end on the root chord. In a half cadence you would end on the V chord.
It is becoming more and more clear that our music education is clearly leaving out the importance of teaching the note's names. To begin, octaves start with C. Middle C is the C that is on the third space. Middle B, is the B under High C. If you are playing a double-high B, then you are playing the note under the triple high C which maynard could not even do on a regular basis.
'Middle C' is actually located on the first ledger line -underneath- the -Treble Staff-, or the first ledger line -above- the -Bass Staff-. This is right smack in the centre of the -Grand Staff-, hence middle C. Middle C is NOT located in the third space of the treble staff.
I stumbled onto this video randomly, watched it, and thought, "Great, another random guy that can nail this stuff. I'm going to lose more work", but then I realized I know who you are. Under that principle, thank you for not being someone of which I was clueless. =P
I've had my share of high note playing. I use a lot of air and seem to get high notes but it is always a struggle. I can get up there but once I am there... I don't have any flexibility.
The more I see and hear these amazing trumpet players the more I see that once they finish playing the notes....they don't seem to be out of breath.
There is something to their approach which I find amazing. Smarter and not harder is the key. Absolutely right.
3 valves down (F#) plus throw out your valve slides. Push lots of air through loose embouchure. If that doesn't work for you just hum really loud through your horn... nobody will know.
...thats quite the B...sounds like you like the mpc. I was following the the forum on trumpetherald where you posted this. Whats the difference between warburtons and bachs or marcinkiewicz?
Does anyone else think that this guy is a "one-man wolfpack"?

you can't just play really loud in order to test a mouth piece.
Sevendust9227 2 years ago
playing loud is part of it, you have to jump back and forth from loud to soft.
The hardest mouthpiece for me to get used to was Warburton.
The easiest, and my current one, is (naturally) a Monette.
Monsgoose 2 years ago
So intonation wasn't a goal in your mouthpiece safari??
