The only way we can get a first down is if Gore runs it down field, and if he can't run it then we get no first down. So we usually receive the ball then after 3 failed times of trying to get a first down, we punt it. Then the other team keeps moving up field till they either get stopped or they score. This cycle repeats over and over again till the defense has nothing left.

The only way we can get a first down is if Gore runs it down field, and if he can't run it then we get no first down. So we usually receive the ball then after 3 failed times of trying to get a first down, we punt it. Then the other team keeps moving up field till they either get stopped or they score. This cycle repeats over and over again till the defense has nothing left.

agree 100%. It's unbelievable how many excuses this guy gets. He can throw 3 int's in a game and all the Smith fans will give you some bullshit excuse that he needs more time, or it's not his fault. It's just comical at this point. Smith just doesn't have the mental makeup to be a great qb.

For one i never said anything about playoffs or super bowls. Yes ive seen his starts, have you? What else does Smith bring to the table other than falling on his face when it matters most(packers, seahawks,titans,eagles) After 5 seasons in the league he still shows the same flaws in his game. Locking onto receivers, overthrowing receivers, slow reads, lack of command, lack of pocket awareness. It has nothing to do with "thinking as one." The defense is constantly putting him in favorable

He doesn't suck if you watched him last week 3 TDs in the second half and almost won the game for the Niners. This week he played good too he kept the 49ers in the game vs the undefeted Colts didn't make many mistakes the interception was a perfect pass if you watch it but it went right through Michael Crabtrees hands. Watch him have a good game next week vs the Titans. I commented about him making a comeback on this very video like a year ago on my old accont it looks like he is doing well...

seriously alex smith is just getting started, remember this too.. he was 21 his rookie season, its already his 5th season, but hes still 25 so he has plenty of time. He is 6'4 so hes a good size quarterback, and he can move pretty good too, his arm is pretty good, considering surgury and all, another thing is, it takes time for some quarterbacks to develop into good players, also yeah matt ryan did it fast but he has a better o line and other play makers.

Alex Smith and Jamarcus Russell two busts in the Bay! Niner fan here but I feel your pain Raiders fans! Maybe you guys should give the "Alex Smith excuse" with Jamarcus Rusell. IE. Blame the coaches and the offensive coordinators for "ruining" the "potential" of Jamarcus Russell and not the player himself. Basically, don't blame Jamarcus Russell for sucking, blame the coaching staff. That always work for the Alex Smith fans.

smitty is a complete bust and im glad people are FINALLY starting to realize it. he's been given the longest leash over any shitty quarterback i can think of. i honestly think the 9ers dont wanna admit they fucked up by drafting a qb in the 05 draft. a. smith has too many excuses, too many injuries, and the guy is always nervous on the field. just play the damn game! i'm glad hill gets the start week 1.

Hill did a good job filling in at the end of last season. He is the only Niners qb since Jeff Garcia to have a winning record.
Smith is a classic example of rushing a rookie qb into the starting role. Some programs prepare qb's in advance for the job, however Utah ran a West Coast offense not seen in nfl. That's why Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco do well but Smith and Russell have struggled. Classic example: rookies Ryan Leaf and Peyton Manning. Different college offenses- different results.
