  • @djzayar

His brother (with the same name) lives in Sydney. Either you got a tattoo by him or he was on a visit. He travels a lot to Sydney, Auckland, Hawaii etc.

  • I never get sick of watching this, I'm a Maori and I would love to get a taulima let alone a sleeve.

  • how do i say "heart of worship" in samoan?

  • @kkruise1 It's rare to say something like this in Samoan - that's if it is ever said. Or maybe it's because I've lost touch with the elders. Or maybe it's because I don't know what you mean, but a literal translation would be something like this: Fatu (or loto) o le tapua'iga.

  • nice, you did that tatt in one sitting? You are worthy to wear it :) Malo

  • @allikohcysp

    Thank you!

Yes, all done in one day with one stop for lunch :)

  • PALANGI'S NOW ARE GETTING PE'A'S AND ANNOUNCING THEM AS CHEIFS

HOW WILL THAT AFFECT THE SAMOAN CULTURE!! i'M TONGAN I GOT A TONGAN VAKA TATTOO ON MY WAIST LINE FROM THE SULU'APE FAMILY, BUT I'M NOT A CHEIF, I FEEL OFFENDED BY PALANGI'S GETTING IT...THATS JUST ME ...FA'A SAMOA & MATE MA'A TONGA TOGETHER

  • It's all in the descrition

  • where are im lookin to get one done

  • Awesome tat & a very traditional design...looks great! u couldn't have asked for a better tufuga to do the work. Question? So how does someone from Sweden which is halfway around the world hear of Suluape in lil old Samoa?? :)

  • Thanks!

The Suluape family name is very well known amongst people interested in traditional tattoos. And the late Paulo Suluape where to marry a Swedish tattooist from the town I live in. I also heard a lot of Petelo when I was in Samoa first time 2001, the tufuga I had then was a pupil of him.

  • When is was in Samoa in 2008-09 i seen ALOT of non-samoans with sleeves , by the way thats reeeeaaaally nice !

  • Were those machine made or done traditionally?

Machine made sleeves are very popular but you rarely see one made with Au's

  • hampussamuelsson what machine are u referring to......Samoans dont use machines......We do it with handmade tools to ink our skin......Its a Samoan Tradition......

  • I refer to ordinary tattoo machines. A lot of people, even Samoans, do sleeves with a modern machine and use Au's mainly on malu, pe'a and traditional taulima. So yes, Samoans use machines to a lot of their tattoos.

  • That is phenomenal.

  • tht was a very nice vid and shit u dne well to handle tht.... such great lines for a the traditional way of tattooing he is a master no delt n so are the strecter'z....

  • mate thats a beautiful tattoo would love to get that done on me ! wiked !

  • how did you get in touch with Suluape?

i've been wanting to get one done by his the proper way for a long time now..

  • Took me about a year to find him. It wasn't until I was in Apia that I heard of his son's tattoo shop in town. So I went there and Peter there helped me to get hold of him.

  • Ha'api'i ri'i te reo tahiti parahata.

  • nau e tapu ta tatou mau tumu e ta tatou mau tatau.. e manao au e mea maua noa tera tatau no outou popaa ma.. aita e nehenehe suluape ma e te mau tuhuka patitia outou!!! e tapea tera no tatou.. e haere hauti atu to tatou tupuna ia outou!!!

  • is it wrong for me a maori to tattoo samoan patterns on my samoan friends???iv been tattooing for a little while and iv seen lots of samoan guys doing maori tats on anyone"

  • YOU ROCK. love the tattoo. you're so blessed to have that awesome design. did you pick it or Sulu'ape did?

  • I came with the idea and some very rough sketches. Sulu'ape drew 5-6 thick lines with a whiteboard marker to make up the base. Then he started tapping. No other sketches was done before he started.

  • beautiful. Can other races wear the Samoan tattoo or do you have to be strickly Samoan, cuz that guy doesn't look poly lol

  • That is up to the Tafuga (tattoo master). But you can find all of the Samoan tattoo's on non Samoan's.

  • same villiage as ma mum

    sweet tatt

  • I must admit that is one sick tattoo done from one of the best ancient tattoo artist of samoa.....mayun yours looks better than mine and im samoan but it's nice to see palagi's getting a piece of samoan art tattoed on their body.....shows that you love and respect the samoan culture.....Mayun i gotta visit this guy when i visit samoa again he's from my mom's village......Samoan Pride!!!!

  • cigarettes and all .....fark tru hamo style lol

  • hey man, have you had a tattoo done by a tattoo gun? is there any difference in the pain? just wondering.

GREAT tattoo by the way. :)

  • Just a small one, can't really compare. I've done two samoan tattoos and one handpoked )last week, video will be up soon).

But I've met two tattoo artists both vovered with tattoos. One of them has a malu and a moko, both done by Paulo Suluape, and the other a very similar to mine. They both say that the samoan way hurts more.

  • Nice tatt...I'm jealous. What nash are you?you look European lol

The Suluape brothers are well known Samoan Tattooists within the Samoan community around the world

  • Thanks, Yes, European, Swedish in fact.

That is why I chose one of the Sulu'ape's, they are with out a doupt the best.

  • With a Tatto gun its like almost 1000 stabs per minute.

When its done like this it takes longer and slower.

Just imagine a needle punching your skin for an entire hour and the guy hasnt finished one line.

That hurts your body and fucks with your mind.

  • My brother went back to Samoa to get his ancestral tattoos and he got 'em done the old school way too. When he was getting it done the generator went and all the lights shut down. But they finished the job back at the tattooist house. He met all his Samoan fam on his dad's side that he hadn't seen since childhood. Nice tattoo hampussamuelsson.

  • Dude, you look good with that sleeve...Respect is made on that day. Enjoy it for it will always look good on you. It will never go out of style

  • how much was yo tatt? cos suluape might've ripped you off! hahahaha

  • It's all in the video description. I'm sure he overcharged me, no doubt. As he does for all palagi's. But that's really not an issue. He is with out a doubt one of the best in what he does. And for me the amount I paid was still a bargain.

  • aw yeap, algoods! your tatt's mean tho, im samoan myself. i've got the taulima & a few other tatts but yours is meeeeean!

  • I'm Samoan, and I'd still pay that price. Man needs to live, and what he gave you was a gift. Good for you.

  • Mean BRO, i want too!....But when i finish uni.

  • this is what real men do. that looks awesome btw.

  • hey do you know contact details of any suluapes who still do tattoing the traditional way in auckland?

  • Faaaar That must be soor

  • thats a bad ass tat you have there. i had a samoan homeboy in the army that had a samoan tat around his bicep. it kind of looked like a bracelt of some sort. he told me only samoans get those.

  • nice i might get one but i get maori free for 16 birthday

  • Awesome tattoo man! Were you worried about contracting some disease like HIV or Hepatitis? It looks like he doesn't use new clean needles.

  • I'm not at all worried aboud HIV, that virus only survives a few hours to a day outside an host. The H. C is worse, bit of a gamble there...

  • urmmm kan i get dat personnz heading straiightt faamolemole!!

ehtts SULU'APE SU'A!! not SULU'APE PETELO !! gawshh dahtz my uncle doin daht guyzz tattt!! get ehttz straightt pplss

  • I'd say It's Su'a Sulu'ape Petelo. Or to be more specific, Petelo is his brothers name he took when he started school in his brothers name, but has been called it ever since. I've never heard anyone call him Sulu'ape Su'a (includes his family and close friends), or seen it anywhere written (including on his own tattoo convention). And just saying Su'a Sulu'ape people would not know which tufuga I refer to. Petelo, Aisea, Angela, Freewind, Paulo etc.

Speaking of right, check your spelling.

  • Urmm i actually know him because he is doing my malu & he is my Auntys Father so me and the rest of his family knoe him by his matai name which is Suluape Su'a you can watch the Tagata pasifika episode of samoan tattoing if you dont believe me!!

  • I believe you, just saying that most people call him Petelo Sulu'ape. And as I said, otherwise it'd be hard to know which tufuga I speak of. But I could have written Su'a Sulu'ape Petelo.

  • Its well done but ugly

  • mean uso anyone know where i can get mine done in auckland?

  • Awesome : )

My 2 palagi teachers got tatts too in American Samoa. It's on their thighs tho'. They said it hurt like hell. That's kind of weid but hey it's what they wanted.

  • this is my uncle lol lives in syd now

  • He does?

There are two Petelo Suluape, on of them (the other) has been living in Oz for some time now.

  • that ant poly..... thats samoan tattoo

    cheeeeeeeeeeeeee hooooooooo

  • Good to see a palagi get a real "polynesian" tatau, seen so many dudes with wanabe maori tatts, thinkin they got a real tat, U dude have a real tatau, u went to the source bro, where tatoos, got their name. My dads Maori and My mums from Western Samoa, which makes me..........Samoan...Lol

  • Thats a beautiful tat you got there ! Its mean.. i've seen some of the more recent work done in Apia Just on the side of the movie theatre same people .. our tradition never fails to beautify the skin! ...

  • fuck thats got to hurt. but i would still do it for the pain is what makes the tattoo more drawn to peoples native ancesters. me i wana get a samoan tattoo an aztec tattoo and a native american tattoo. well why becuse i feal drawn by thoes cultures. im not samoan nor native american but i am mexican american. like i said thes cultures call me. like my ancesters.

  • I hope you do bro... Be a good mix.

  • That palagi's got balls, everyone considering getting a tatau should get it done the traditional way -support the local people by getting a REAL tattoo not a playskool one....

  • yeah a traditional tattoo makes some one more connected with ther ancesters. and you make shure thats the tattoo you want.

  • Thanks! Oh so they moved, gotta keep that in mind cos I will come back for another one.

  • Surprised no one asked you yet, but is there meaning in you tattoo?

  • Well, it's really up to the the dude getting the tattoo to tell the meaning in the sidebar. It goes like this...if they don't tell you then you're not supposed to ask. Not to be a dick, but that's just the protocol and etiquette. Meanings behind the tattoos are personal and private.

  • LUV the tatt man!!!u've got balls man gettin it the traditional way,i can only imagine how painful it was cos i got mine as well the old fashion way n it bloody hurts:L:L

anyways the suluapes new location is just on the side of the magic cinema...

  • nice....i love suluapes tatau....

  • omfg;

    yourr tatt is nice!!!!!!

    are you afakasi???

  • Thanks!

    No I'm all palagi.

  • Nice tat, got my one done from cousin recently over in samoa. but man, the bruising for that one is gonna be real bad, but its gonna look great afterwards..

  • is he sdill doing tats cze ma dad comes from faleasiu but didnt find anybody that does tattoing the traditional wayy??

    help plzz

  • I haven't heard anything claiming he's not tattooing. They are very proud of him in Faleasiu, everyone know who he is and where he lives. But he often travels to Hawaii, NZ or Australia.

Talk to Peter att Samoa Tattoo, just next tp the ice cream shop Spoons in Apia. He should know.

  • Comment removed

  • hey dats my uncle suluape he owns the the tattoo shop in samoa in the cinemas

  • Thats my unkle too!

    Are we related...lol

But this one is really nice

I will probably get my malu done by him next month

I was a little nervous about the pain, but I have finally REALLY accepted this and am now fully committed to getting my malu and samoan culture.

  • Leo Zuluetta out of cali does tribal poly tatts

  • Samoan Tatts are HOT but only on Samoans !! I think it looks wierd if they are on a person from a diff culture...same if someone who is not asian for eg. gets a tatt that is asian...just think we should embrace our own cultures...and appreciate it that way

  • i'm looking for someone that does this style of tattooing in the U.S. i would love to go to samoa and get it done there, but money is tight. Does anyone know anyone that does it state side

  • Just a question to add to this debate, but how do you react when you see someone in public with a Pe'a?

  • hey man we live in a new aged world now where people from different nations share each others culture, I'm Samoan an it makes me feel happy when i see palagi wearing our Samoan design. shows how much we've grown in the world.

    Manaia lo pe'a uso.

    Faamalosi!!!

    CHEEEEEE HUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!

  • I also find interesting that the Polynesian tattoo designs looks closely like those found in South-East Asia, particularly in the Philippines. I very much fascinated in learning more of the Malayo-Polynesian (Austronesian) culture. Asian/Pacific-Islanders are quite unique in their related cultural status.

  • wow, this thread is really interesting. I am fascinated by samoan tatau and find the issue of palagi's getting them or not getting really interesting. I am torn as like hampassamuelsson I am a palagi who has travelled to Samoa and been humbled by the people and their desire to share their culture. They express such joy when we Palagi's embrace their language and customs and so i can see that receiving a tatau can be a great honour for a palagi.

  • I am also saddened by the fact that some palagi's, and possibly even islanders themselves choose to get the tatau for the wrong reason, like just to impress others or to show off, which is also sad as it does have such deep meaning.

I wonder how many Samoans who were born overseas have got their Tatau for the wrong reason, without truly understanding its meaning, and how many Palagi's have got it who live and love in Samoa and embrace its culture.

  • I am still undecided about the issue. As I am also undecided about the way in which matai titles seem to be handed out for the wrong reason too.

What I do know is how important it is to keep this art alive. I come from a tiny island in the Channel Islands and barely anyone there knows anything about our ancient culture, it is gone. When did it dissapear? I dont know. When I was younger there were still some old people who spoke the language, but did they pass it on b4 they died? I dont know.

  • hey jerseygirl7969, do you have any samoan family?

I personally don't mind non-samoans receiving an tauvae, armband or sleeve like hampussamuelsson but only IF they go to a Samoan Tufuga --living in Samoa or abroad-- to get it done properly. I think Samoa attracts a different kind of people than lets say...well lets just say "other" islands who aren't very real.

  • part 2

    jerseygirl7969

I see you have respect for Samoa and our culture. With the pe'a and malu in my opinion that should only be for Samoans or people who are married to a Samoan or adopted into a Samoan family.

Ultimately, the discussion rests in the hands of the family and the Tufuga. This applies to even Samoans.

  • Hi Samoa1islander,

Thank you so much for your comment which is put across in such a reasonable way. I am married to Samoan Tulafale Ali'i Lesa now for 18 years.

  • I also have great interest in the culture as it was meant to be, but try to be careful in my comments as ultimately I am not Samoan myself. I agree that the pe'a and malu should not be for just anyone.

  • It is great that non samoans want to have tribal design tattoo's, but the pe'a and malu have such spiritual significance it is sad to see them worn by anyone who does not have that spiritual connection and COMMITMENT to serve their community, and I even feel this is true of many samoans who get this tatau without really making this commitment.

  • One more thing, it seems to me there are 3 distinctly different samoan cultures, the first being the ancient one, which has evolved into the 2nd one that is now practised in the islands which is not entirely the same as it used to be. The third is an evolving sub culture of young samoans abroad who seem to be very lost, trying to connect with their cutural heritage, but just seem to be getting it all mixed up. Attacking others with verbal insults is not cultural pride, it is cultural ignorance.

  • quote:

"Attacking others with verbal insults is not cultural pride, it is cultural ignorance."

I personally don't see anything really wrong with "insults"(voicing of opinions)displayed here by any Samoans because I don't see anything wrong with trying to protect ones culture. We outside of Samoa see whats left of hawaiian and native americans cultures after being marginalized, commercialized, and bastardized. So we naturally take a protective stance.

  • I totally agree, you should be protective of your cuture, especially in light of the others you mentioned. When I refer to verbal attacks I am referring to the use of fowl demeaning language and incomprehensible slang which is completely uneccessary and makes the people using it sound ignorant and aggressive, and thus the people reading it lose respect for the culture you really want to be respected. Hope that makes sense. :)

  • sweeeettttt...samoan tats r sweeeetttt

  • Nice band bro. Seen alotta sleeves with mixed patterns on em. Maori, Tahitian, Hawaiian etc all crumpled together. This is the first one iv'e seen with just Samoan designs. Again pretty sweet sleeve

  • I dont like seeing palagis with samoans desings on themselves.Nothing against palagis or anyone else but it feels like we selling our culture away by doing it for them.

Nice tatt but brahz. STEVE MA CHING be the man with the needle though!!

  • iF PALAGiS RECiEVE A TAUVAE OR A TAULiMA [WRiSTbAND OR ARMbAND] tHEN iTS FiNE. YES iT MAY LOOK "COOL". THERES A DEEP MEANiNG bEHiND THE PRACTiCE, iTS NOT AbOUT bEiNG RACiST "NOTSAMOAN". TELL ME, iN WHAT WAYS ARE WE bEiNG RACiST??! EVERYbODY iS TURNiNG 2 RACiSM..ShEEZZ hOW SAD. dO U hAVE A CULTURE? MAYbE U dONT bECAUSE iF U DiD YOU'D UNdERSTAND WHERE WE'RE COMiNG FROM. KALOFAE! i'LL GiVE U SOME MULA SO THAT U COULD GO BUY A CULTURE SiNCE EVERYbODY iS bUYiNG OUR PE'A.

  • i want to tattoo myself..where i can find samoan flash?

  • There is no such thing. He makes it up as he tattoos, as for all Samoan tattooers.

  • thats how you get tattooed with rosters crooing in the backround

  • does exist samoan flash tattoo??

  • Your tattoo is beautiful - and you sound so proud of it - malo lava! I'll be getting my malu from one of the Sulu'apes at some stage in the next 12 months. I live in NZ, but spend a lot of time in Samoa with my Samoan aiga at Lalomanu. Might see you there one day ... soifua! x

  • Lalomanu is beautiful, so is NZ (was there for four month before I travelled to Samoa).

Yes I'm very proud of it and in a couple of yeas I'll get my other arm done, same design.

    Good luck with your malu!

    Fa

  • LALOMANU IS BEAUTIFUL ! THATS WHERE IM FROM .. lmao ; GOTTA LOVE IT ! & a westerner getting a samoan tattoo .. never before seen it but im glad that some aspects of samoan culture has been infiltrated in the lives of westerners..cause usually its the other way round! :D

    PEACE !

  • i dont mine when a non samoan person gets samoan designs on their body but acknowledge the shit as samoan.dont be claiming the shit is hawaiian, mori, togan, etc. it aint a fuckin polynesian tatt is samoan and only samoan.acknowledge it..thats it...

  • holziz! very interestn arguement down below!! :D

  • yeh and 'NotSamoan' not everyone was happy with Suluape giving the tatau to nonsamoans. Even the fact that he gave his matai title to a mauli, and even a pe'a to a woman. But out of the utmost respect to him that was what he wanted to do.

We aint a monolithic people so don't expect all hamos to be overjoyed just cos u wearin one of our tattoos.

But yeh, thanks for the diss using one of our own to justify ur thoughts.

  • I also quote westerners taught kung fu, famously by Bruce Lee - the chinse were not happy at arts secrets being taught Bruce wanted to share, bring to wider world. Through this the art lives, preserved, loved. Original religion, paganism, some chose to believe there was guy 'jesus' before you know it mass indoctrination, blind faith, everyone refers to christianity, some people practice paganism and preserve it, if what they want, should be left to it.

  • Dear Racist. Where is the line, do you draw it? Do you object to any Samoan design? Is it when arm is tatooed? Leg? Back? Modern version of pe'a? Any tattoo? Do you claim ownership of all tatau for you & Samoa? These comments should be nice, the guy has taken a journey, absorbed Samoa into his blood and you criticise? People like you post just to say boo hoo I'm right, such a big man! I know a few Samoans that tatau non samoans so theyre all wrong hey? Its just you then big boy? An ambassador! x

  • i dunno man??!

And I'm probably goin to look like a racist here. But I don't like palagis getting our tatau. Why? Because the tatau is symbolic of 'our' journey as Samoans. Incl. our ancestors being forced to hide the Tatau practice by palagi Colonialism. For people that think that was the past, think about the difference in Samoas Economic Base and that of the British Monarchy. As Samoans we need to protect what is ours, in the same nature as closed British Aristocratic Elitism.

  • Which Tatau do you have. Grow some balls and go get a Pea. Because if you don't have one shut your mouth. What's your family name and which village.

  • This is for Ruskee

  • So why dont you reply directly to Ruskee? :) Peace and love ya'll

  • Think, one of the best, Suluape, is willing to work on non Samoans whilst others criticise palagi that want and admire it. I have not just walked into a shop, 'ooo that tiger looks cool, I'll have that' This is a quest start to finish, nothing is 'easy' about it, if wanted and journey takes you to it, why not? You will be marked with a very large tattoo for life, this in itself is a big consideration, so please dont disrespect my/my brothers intentions & reasons, just as I dont disrespect yours.

  • Anyone know where to get a pe'a in Northern California?

  • to get a pea you got to understand its meaning and the story behind it you jus cant get it for show im Samoan and yet i dnt hav it y?? because i do not have full knowledg of it. bt i love to design. and one day would love to design a sleve for n e one. bt dont forget dea is much more to it bt hope all ends well.

  • malo uce.yeah look im nz born and raised, have never been to samoa.i got my pe'a done as a personal experience to my beautiful culture and am very proud of it.my faa samoa isn,t great either.i say as long as u respect it wear it with pride thats all that matters.remember ive seen chiefs with them that umm yes u can figure out the rest?its not about knowing it. ts about showing it

  • Searched years, eventually found Samoan Pe'a, full body. Now have more info! Asked artists to tattoo the pe'a, includes Samoans in US & Europe & famed Europeans. Found search difficult, samoan in USA said was an insult for non samoan to have Pe'a, another refused, but told me of another Samoan that might. Other artists said will have a go, dont want to just have a go! This is impressive, maybe the only way to get pe'a is in Samoa yes? Would be interested talking to you and be grateful. Thanks J.

  • A full pe'a might be difficult, but a small tatau like mine is no problem, not in Samoa anyway. By doing this tatau I show my respect to the Samoans and in return they give me theirs. But if you plan to get the full body I'd say you have to go to Samoa, experience it and get to know the locals and their customs, then start thinking of getting the full body. It's more than just a tattoo.

    Hampus

  • Yeh, it is an insult for a non Samoan to get a pe'a because it's our tradition and the designs are ancient and synonymous with our malaga (journey) as a people. Why would you want one??? If you r not part of that journey?? It's somethin sacred to us, and considered an honour. Particular because we hv bn faithful as a people to continue the tradition of the pe'a regardless of Christian missionaries and colonialism in Samoa tryna ban it, so we took it underground. Yeh, id question ur motives.

  • malo uce.well suluape has tattooed more then 100 non samoans.i have my own tatau and its more about sharing the journey experience with other cultures.i mean they must really respect the samoan culture to want to go thru the pain.i mean for me i knew the meaning but for a non samoan?well.

  • Suluape isn't one of the best for nothing. Beautiful tatau. You did it OG-style, too! lol Now that's a SAV right there! Much props to you. With that on, I'd know you anywhere.

  • that is awesome work brother!!! even better that palagi was able to sit through (lie down) the whole process...

    malo lava le ogosa'i

  • I Wont a samoan tattoo, dwayne the rock johnson tipe, please help me

  • He's tattoo is not much of an samoan tattoo. It's a mix of polynesian styles, and it's made in Hawaii. A small area on the chest has some samoan inspiration.

  • thank you for all. I wont this tattoo but I'm a italian boy and this art hear is not know...

  • hey I want more info on these guys, where did you travel to and does it hurt more or less than a regular tatau? Cool tatau

  • It's done in Samoa. I have two of these and can't compare to machine made. But I've met a few tattooist's and te all says this hurts much more.

  • damnnn veryyy nice!!

  • very nice!

  • This Tufuga did my dads Tatau years ago. my brother and i are next in line in august. Wish us luck

  • Best wishes to you both!!

  • oh myyy... that looks godly... i am looking forward to doing the same 4-5 years down the lane...once i finish studies and have earned enough.. right now a bit jealous... beautiful tattoo...

  • Thank you very much!

  • great tatau, nice to see a palagi show interest and respect for a part of our culture. Wear it with pride Uso.

  • I surely do, been in Samoa twice now and will probably end up there again even though it is half around the world.

  • too higienic!!!

    man smoke up the operation!!!

    oh man!!!

  • Hey uso!! nice tattoo..i got a sleeve done myself..u must get all the chicks in sweden because of your tatts lol..if u do holla at your boi & ill book a holiday next year!! cheeehoooo!!!

  • haha, well... The tattoo seemed to have better effect in Samoa :(

  • shot palagi ... but man, just for dat - he ripped u off ... no offence to our samoan people, but u know what dey be like all kuluku when a palagi shows up to samoa! haha lol ... i got my malu done here in Aus from a suluape too, cost me $1600 AUS ... but yeah, malo le onosa'i white boi!! PEACE =)

  • I'm well aware of that, but money doesn't matter in this case. I flew from Sweden around the world to get this tattoo, and that flight cost me much more than the tattoo. Did you get your malu from Petelo Suluape (this guys brother)?

  • wow ... from sweden even!! thats commitment ... good on u thou =) yeah his brother that lives here in Oz did my one & his nephew Laga did my husbands ... man, just hearing those roosters take me back to when i 1st went to da islands .... who needs an alarm clock when u have roosters, PRICELESS!! ... thanx for gettin bak swedish boi! PEACE =)

  • malo white boi

  • wow my friend I must say you are a very brave palagi to have this tattoo done the real Samoan way. I myself don't have one and will never have one but I do admire traditional tattoos esp. our own Samoa. yours is exceptionally well done and looks beautiful on you because of your lighter skin. I am very jealous of your commitment and you will always be the envy of all tattooes that would show when you take you shirt off.. good on you...

  • im jeolous one day i will recive my tatau...

  • Junior Suluape did a lovely tattoo on my leg for me. My present to myself for my 21st haha love it!

  • im not samoan but i have always admired their art or tattoing..is it possible for a foreigner to get one or not?

  • Yes it is. I'm my self not Samoan and I have two of them both done traditionally. I wouldn't recommend getting a machine made Samoan tattoo outside Samoa or by a non Samoan. Get down to the source and travel to Samoa. Experience the culture and get to know the Samoans, who are very friendly people! For me getting a Samoan tatau is a great honor and I'm trying to take some of their kindness back to my home country with their beautiful tataus. My arm will always remind me of wonderful Samoa.

  • malo uce.its an honour 4 me myself a proud samoan for u a non samoan to have learnt something beautiful about my culture and appreciate it.alot of cultures in the world could learn alot about the samoan way and our people.so friendly and beautiful and ur best friend.but if u mess...u die...lol god bless uce. well done on ur beautiful arm tatau..
