I took a 2011 xB out for a test drive today. I was actually impressed it was a fun car to drive, tons of room, comfortable, very quick, lots of options and handles quite well. I'm 50 so for you mature folks giver a shot. Say no more. I might go back for a second look. Great video by the way.

I didnt really care about these box cars until I rode in one. The interior space just blew me away, I felt like I was in an Suv. Like he said, it doesnt look like it has that much interior space from seeing the size of the car from the outside. A lot of storage compartments too which is really cool. Now I understand and appreciate this car so much I just want to have one. Practicality, usability, easier on gas coming from a V6 owner like me.

- Also realizing that this is better than getting a truck or an Suv cause I really never got to use the high-clearance and 4wd anyways, Id rather have this car now which I could also take anywhere like road-trips, camping, and hauling stuff just like a truck or Suv! The xB is also better in terms of cheaper gas, lower insurance, less maintenance, cheaper tires, etc.. I think its just Perfect! =)

@uncoverbrother Yup.....and thats pretty much why I initially called it a Zion. Thats what the salesman at the Toyota dealership I bought mine at called it. :-)

@sandiaman1 the back up light was their best design to give the car from being too symetrical. Unfortunately people are confised so theymade it symmetrical on the 2011 and its ugly.

Yes, and I always miss the Tacoma for road clearance and hauling stuff around. I like the xB but if I had it to do over I think I would have kept the Tacoma and bought the xB on the side but made payments on it rather then just pay cash like I did. It is nice for when you just want to cruise around and don't want to burn mucho gas. Of course, I made this deal back when gas was around 4 bucks a gallon. Didn't think it would come back down again but as usual I was wrong. I still love the xb though

Is an option for some of the more high end automatic cars. Put the car into drive and move the gear shift over. this stops the automatic function of the car and makes it a manual.

Its an automatic car that you can manually shift if you want to. If you don't want to be bother with it, just put it in drive (D) and it drives like a normal automatic car.

The Scion XB would be a cool first car.

Kick ass car. I have a 2008 Scion xB Classic Silver Metallic. These cars run forever, they're stylish and trendy, and they have impressive features. Not to mention, I am totally into modifying my car. It's a fun little sporty car for its class. You either love it or hate it, but definitely don't judge it if you've never driven it. Great car.

The 4 cylinder Camry engine.....the room on the inside.....the sequential shifter....the Pioneer stereo system....the capability of playing MP3 on the sound system and the player AUX plugin. It drove nice too with what seemed like more then enough power on the test drive. Almost 30,000 miles later none of that has changed.

I have right around 20 thousand on this 2008 xB and I still love driving this thing around. I've taken it on a few long trips....and in some pretty rough places I shouldn't haven taken it. Especially for a low profiled vehicle. Still runs beautiful. Lot of power. Just drove it from New Mexico out to San Diego and back. Drove all over and around San Diego. Ran like a Timex watch. Like an overpowered little sports car.

Actually that larger horsepower Camry engine they put in this 2008 xB is large in comparison to the vehicle size. So it does have a lot of power for it's size. Had no problem quickly pushing it up to 90 mph or more on the highway. It has a lot more power then the earlier models. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it is an Indy car but for what it is....it is no slouch. Power is there when you need it. I pushed it over 100 a couple times just for the hell of it. Ran very smooth too.

nice scion. I bought a black 09 xb about a week ago. I still like the manual transmission better lol. Its definately different than 06 and 07 xb. I drive an 06 at work and it has nowhere near as much power.

I know. I had just purchased the vehicle a few days earlier. To tell you the truth the first time I heard the name pronounced was by the salesman at American Toyota here in Albuquerque New Mexico. He pronounced it

ZION. I was corrected as soon as I uploaded this video. It is pronounced "sigh-on". I KNOW !!! :-)

Actually I paid the cash difference in full after the trade-in. Not really sure what the payments would be. The 2009 is out now but as far as I can tell it looks the same as the 2008 in all respects.

Yeah, definitely a "sigh-on"=scion... NOT "ZION"...I have a white one and love it! It was a big change from a suburban to a box but the only thing i miss is ground clearance. I always scrape the frickin curb when i pull into a parking spot. lol. n e way, ...uh...k.,thats it.

Variable Valve Timing = VVT-i changes the timing due to engine RPM. Better than Honda VTEC, because it is constantly changing timing for max power! Sweet car, check out my 1st generation xB video! I love the xB!

Wrong. VVT-i doesn't ADD power. It just plays with the timing to get maximum torque at lower rpms and help a little bit in saving gas. I repeat, it doesn't add power.

V-TEC (the one with the extra lobe) actually ADDS power. It's a high reving motor with no torque but gives you a surge of power when the 2nd lobe kicks in.

Racing = VTEC wins. Daily driving around town VVTi = wins.
