I already have adopted an abused dog, and looking at adopting another one who needs a home right now. I also have done extensive work with the developmentally disabled. There are so many volunteers who also help me in doing most of these things, so I am not at it alone.

I am entirely pro-life, but in this first womans case the child was already dead due to natural causes, in which case she should of been allowed to abort the dead fetus. If you don't have to kill a fetus and it dies on it's own, then no harm had come to the fetus to end it's life. Women choosing once to have an abortion gets rid of a lifetime of choices for her baby. And I do think a ten year old rape victim should carry to term. It doesnt devalue the 10yr old's life at all. She was already devalued in the eyes of the man who raped her. However, it is a fact that most rape victims choose to keep their child if they get pregnant because they don't want to continue the violence of their attacker.

@mdillybar Both the 2 yr old and 3 yrd olds can feel pain & fear. The unborn can feel pain at about 20 wks gestation. I am speaking about an embryo/fetus around 6 to 9 wks gestation. It is not developed the way a baby or child is and it cannot feel pain or fear. A 10 yr old can feel pain & fear and her life is precious too. A 10 yr old is not mature enough to choose the pregnancy either.

@Fishqueen1972 I've researched this and you are right that the child can't feel pain at first until 9 wks, but it does't change the fact that the child is alive and human in those weeks and is being killed by abortion. We have laws against murder, but no law against abortion. To me that makes no sense. A 10yr old can give her child up for adoption, and by this the mother would be protecting her by stopping her from making a decision she might regret. The right to stop her means stopping murder.

The trauma of the attack starts up a stress response which inhibits the body's energy from going to processes that aren't immediately necessary, such as digestion and reproduction. @ashatbulaparanormal I am, actually! I also run vigils for the condemned, visit the elderly, and I am looking at adopting a special needs baby-- even siblings. I already have adopted an abused dog, and looking at adopting another one who needs a home right now. I also have done extensive work with the developmentally disabled. There are so many volunteers who also help me in doing most of these things, so I am not at it alone.

I am entirely pro-life, but in this first womans case the child was already dead due to natural causes, in which case she should of been allowed to abort the dead fetus. If you don't have to kill a fetus and it dies on it's own, then no harm had come to the fetus to end it's life. Mothers miscarriage dead fetuses all the time, that is how life works, ending it using alternative methods is what is wrong with abortion.

I'm curious - what is the difference between an embryo and a baby in your opinion?

@mdillybar An viable baby can live outside the womb and suffer. An embryo cannot. Fact, the baby has more in common with the 10 yr old girl than it does the embryo. If the 10 yr old didn't get pregnant then there is no life. If she aborts the embryo then there is no life. What is the difference? The embryo cannot suffer & it isn't going to know it even existed as an embryo anymore than it knew it was an egg & sperm. The 10 yr old has the ability to suffer. You have twisted ethics.

Most at that age do not survive out of the womb, but babies have been born and survived after only being in the womb as little as 22 weeks. How do you know if a baby has the ability to live outside of the womb yet? Scientists recognize that life begins at conception - otherwise what is an embryo? Dead? Inorganic? The only other option is alive. And if it is alive it can definitely suffer.

@mdillybar No, I did not say that. There is no such thing as a 5 or 6 month old embryo. If an abortion is going to be done then it should be done right away. If the 10 yr old has the abortion right away then it is just an embryo and it will not suffer. However, the 10 yr will suffer if forced to carry the baby. Females are not incubators. They are human beings. They are not objects for fetal propogation. I think it would be disgusting for a girl that young to be forced to stay preg.

There is no difference about whether the child is alive or not. And a girl that young is probably not mature enough to know what she's doing by getting an abortion.

@mdillybar Both the 2 yr old and 3 yrd olds can feel pain & fear. The unborn can feel pain at about 20 wks gestation. I am speaking about an embryo/fetus around 6 to 9 wks gestation. It is not developed the way a baby or child is and it cannot feel pain or fear. A 10 yr old can feel pain & fear and her life is precious too. A 10 yr old is not mature enough to choose the pregnancy either.

@Fishqueen1972 I've researched this and you are right that the child can't feel pain at first until 9 wks, but it does't change the fact that the child is alive and human in those weeks and is being killed by abortion. We have laws against murder, but no law against abortion. To me that makes no sense. A 10yr old can give her child up for adoption, and by this the mother would be protecting her by stopping her from making a decision she might regret. The right to stop her means stopping murder.

@Fishqueen1972 Also, the chances of a 10yr old getting pregnant from being raped are less than 5%. The trauma of the attack starts up a stress response which inhibits the body's energy from going to processes that aren't immediately necessary, such as digestion and reproduction. So especially for the millions of other reasons why women get abortions, they should be illegal. Although in this unlikely case we are talking about, it should not be legal either.

when it really comes down to it you people are monsters. Forget a woman's "rights to her body" you would end the life of a baby and that baby's rights to its own body (a baby which could also grow up to be a woman for all you sexists out there.) You sound so primitive when you say it might have a harsh life so we should kill it. There are plenty of alternatives trust me.

Every scientist will agree that life begins at conception. So where's the debate? Aboriton IS murder. I'm not a sexist in any way, I just care very deeply for the lives of those who can't defend themselves. I support life for a baby over convenience for an adult.

@prochoicenz Last time I checked it wasn't only baby boys who were being aborted. It's unacceptable for any person to have the right to terminate another person's life except in self defense.

@Sueezee1 Abortion is unconstitutional. The supreme court justice john paul stevens (who did a political180 after his appointment) who ultimately legalized abortion severely stretched the fourteenth amendment and invented a right to privacy. If enough pressure was put on the supreme court today, they could easily overturn it.
