  • This law would not abolish the secret ballot. You are all a bunch of brainwashed scabs. See how much the bosses care about you when there is no union representation. "the companies don't intimidate"? You ignorant jackass. Google Pinkerton Agency, or "coal and iron police" or Ludlow Massacre, or Lattimer Massacre. If it weren't for labor unions the norm would still be piece rates for fifteen hours a day and eleven year olds working in factories. You believe whatever bullshit you want, suckers.

  • Unions have destroyed this country. Lazy, uneducated, and people with the "You Owe Me" attitude would join a union in this day and age. Unions protect those who are substandard workers, facilitate fraud via worker's comp programs, and are just shady people. They get payed for sitting around, and doing nothing. In my organization...I will do anything to keep it free of union tyrany!

  • EFCA doesn't make it easier to form unions. It makes it easier for Unions to unionize employees. Let's be honest about this stuff.

  • dumb slag

  • This is truly incredible. One of the most well established principles of democracy is that you get to have a SECRET ballot. If half the electorate signed letters saying they wanted Obama to be president again, would you cancel the presidential election?

  • Carpet Muncher

  • hypocrisy and deceit are a religion with some leftists. Why call compulsory union membership "free choice"?Thats like calling North Korea a democracy.Rachel Maddow is just shitting all over her gutless wonder self by not telling us the whole story like the difference between right to work states and this Orwellian "Free choice"crap.

  • Are you serious? You clearly have no experience in any business. The companies don't intimidate; THE UNIONS DO! Laws forbid employers from intimidation and harrassment of workers, but the union thugs will follow workers home. You want to get rid of a federally supervised, secret ballot election????? Did YOU read the bill? That quote about keeping a secret ballot election is NOT in the bill. CLUELESS.

  • Workers unions are organizations of workers, by workers, and for workers, so why the fuck would they want to harm workers?

"Union bosses" - yeah... because "union bosses" are earning so much money compared to big businesses.. There's no such thing as "intimidating big union bosses". Unions are simply a bunch of workers organized to fight for THEIR rights.

  • @MazdakTV

Never heard of Any Stearn, SEIU? Union walkouts that threaten to shut down everyobody's ability to travel and conduct business of their own?

Unions are who you need to be afraid of. Just look at this Mob style armtwistsng of a bill they are putting up. If you don't vote for the Union, they are gonna know who you are.

Leftists whine about big brother all the time, than don't see it right in front of their face.

  • I love this Woman! She kicks ass!

  • Acutally passing this law would make it easier for unions to take money out of your paychecks to give to the Democrats in return for political favors.

  • Maddow knows nothing about how businesses operate. She is a douche bag. This is a job killer.

  • Maddow is an idiot. If passed this would cause many jobs to go to Mexico and other low cost countries. This is no joke. I know. I work with companies in Mexico. Again if this passes, kiss jobs goodbye.

  • A secret ballot?? My God what an awful concept. Much fairer to send Bruno and Vito to your house just in case you might want to sign a card......and make sure your tires don't get slashed if you say no.

  • A secret ballot?? My God what an awful concept. Much fairer to send Bruno and Vito to your house just in case you might want to sign a card......and make sure your tires don't get slashed if you say no.

  • This is why nobody watches MSNBC. And this lady promises she is "not pushing an agenda." hahahahahaha

  • @SugarTaylorSellnow She's no more pushing an Agenda than Hannity, Beck, et all.

  • I guess Maddcow belongs to a dike bulldozers union.

  • I hate republicans.

  • The workers would decide , or majority card check.

The Republicans want to keep wage-earners down.

  • The whole point of a secret ballot is to make it harder for both employers and union organizers to intimidate workers.

She says that the secret ballot would still be available but fails to mention who will decide whether to hold a secret ballot and how such a decision will be made.

It seems to me that the workers should decide whether to hold a secret ballot or not. And we can ensure they are not intimidated in this choice by holding a secret ballot...

  • SEIU = gutless crybaby ignorant pussies

  • What does changing the ballot rules have to do with healthcare, or more specifically the issue that employees have no choice in their healthcare provider?

And wouldn't it be even "freer" and more "choicier" for individual workers to choose their own provider? Why not just pay workers money and let them buy health insurance? Wouldn't that cause companies to compete even more, and wouldn't it allow workers a recourse (changing providers) stronger and quicker than any form of employer based health

  • @PumpkinJoe999 Just "give out money"? LOL Isn't that what all of these organized "TEAbagger" parties are against? It STILL wouldn't fix what's wrong with insurance companies - especially their ability to use "Pre-existing conditions" to turn people down for care. (like the 4 month old who was turned down because she was deemed to be overweight)

  • In addition - the EFCA is a seperate issue from Health Care reform.

  • I hope this passes. We need some degree of protection form corporate America. They don't have our best interest at heart no matter what the chicken hawk goons like Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reily at Fascist Operatives Xpress news say.

  • If the majority of workers want a union now, there is nothing stopping them from voting for it in a secret ballot. There is no rational justification for this legislation. The Employee Forced Choice Act takes away the right to keep ones vote private, allowing union goons to intimidate workers into signing on. The right to secret ballot is fundamental to democracy.

Worse, the act forces businesses and unions to accept government arbitration in strikes, whether both want it or not.

  • One problem with your idea FAH. There is no secret ballot currently in place. Please do a little research for yourself and check out the NLRB process that is in place right now. The EFCA actually adds a place for secret ballots. (once enough interest is shown in Organizing) The places that spout off lies about the EFCA removing any secret ballots are funded by the same Big Businesses that would rather spend millions on misinformation than thousands on liveable wages and health care.

  • You know why arbitration is forced in some cases? Companies stall contract talks for months even years at the advice of rich union-busting lawyers.

  • The union leader's are always going to decide not to have a ballot if they get the cards! And if people just hear the union side when they sign the card, is that a fair democracy? The whole reason why some people sign the cards and then end up voting against the union is because they hear the employer side of the argument (less jobs, less flexibility, etc.) and realize that the unions were wrong all along!

  • Companies wouldn't need to be afraid of Unions if they took care of their workers.

  • My point exactly. I'm beginning to think that there are people on Internet forums PAID by corporates to make these ridiculous arguments. No one would possibly be dumb enough to actually believe this whole "unions brought down GM" BS.

  • Nony - there are a LOT of front groups like NRTW, UnionFacts, etc. that get funding from Big Business. They claim to be for everyone's rights - yet they censor remarks on their vids. Shows how much they value peoples' right to speak freely.

  • Not surprised. But still, it makes me feel 4% less paranoid.

  • The union busting industry is a $4,000,000,000 a year industry. It's a cash cow and they find out how some employees feel about a union drive and fire them. Don't trust me?? Then search for yourself-confessions of a union buster a book by Martin Jay Levitt, or search on this channel for- secret ballot in name only.

  • how do people choose? who chooses. the union leaders or the employees?

  • Rachel Maddow always looks so clean.

  • The difference between Dems and Repubs is that the Dems fear "union busters" will intimidate workers out of the choice; the Repubs KNOW DAMN WELL that the union leaders will intimidate the workers into unionizing. Pick your poison! If all it takes is a majority of the unit to sign a card, don't libs see how pressures will be brought to bear so they can obtain that majoirty? When Guido shows up at your door with a card, are YOU going to tell him to get lost?

  • Yes, because he is not your boss and he can't fire you. And creating an intimidating atmosphere at work will get HIM fired.

  • That's not true. union bosses create intimidating atmospheres at work all the time. I've seen it up close- in the teachers strike at my area, the union bosses FORBADE one of my teacher friends from saying anything contradictory to the union's lies. That's not the only example, though, but I can't cite them all because of space constrictions.

  • The only way this would be an employee free choice is if it was the right to vote by secret ballot. This act will subject employees to intimidation and is a one sided act in favor of unions. Give all sides a fair shake. By taking the right to vote away you are implying that employees do not have the intellect to make the correct choice for their future. . I voted for President Obama with this right and I want the same right to make any other decisions that will have an effect on my future.

  • But the bill doesn't take the secret ballot away, it just gives the employees a choice whether to use it or not.

  • Guess who decides every time? Unions leaders! As if they will take away their own victory after they've got over 50% of people to sign cards. They don't want people to see the buisness side of view.

  • I know it is hard to see from a white collar point of view, but we need unions

  • You think you need unions only if you hear the lies unions tell you. I know that sounds harsh, but seriously, I have never seen a union that hasn't lied to its members. Unions, in the long run, end up stifiling buisness. Giving in to union demands was what killed GM. It wouldn't make it's car-making process more efficient because then it would have to fire workers. Even when GM was dying, it wouldn't fire workers or lessen wages, and that was the death of the company.

  • GM died because it made stupid business decisions, like keeping on with huge inefficient cars when the market was moving to small compacts. The unions had nothing to do with it. GM made bad cars. Everybody in the world knows that. And if the bosses want their employees to listen, they might want to try and talk to them, rather than treating them like retards and talk over their heads. They could, for example, treat the workers representatives (aka unions) as partners, rather than enemies.

  • GM faced pressure from the UAW to not make cars more efficient to produce or make them smaller, because then there would be fewer workers needed. The bad buisness decitions that GM made was fueled by it's desire to please the UAW.

And you can't have a partner who is willing to destroy you if the people they're representing get more money and benifits until the company is destroyed.

  • Bullshit. changing a product means investing in production means, that means MORE workers, not less. Just how stupid do you think I am? You really think you can go on with those scare tactics, demonizing the unions? You really think I'll buy that? You really think anyone'll buy that? the rot in GM started from the top, not the bottom. The unions had nothing to do with it.

  • Who flew to DC in private jets to beg for money? I didn't see any UAW members getting off of the plane.

  • The problem is the trade policies and tax codes of the US, the middle class will have no say unless we can organize and focus our vote on labor issues and the tax code that gives US manufactures tax brakes for moving off shore. We have tens of million of people not paying income tax because they are on welfare and unemployment.

  • And I ask how do we take back our government, do we do it as individuals or do we do it as a grass roots special interest group or as worker unions.

Of the three options the only one they fear is working family unions!!

  • Just look at all the money the Washington power base is pumping into their anti union propaganda machine, they are running scared and we need to keep up the pressure. Cant you see they want us divided?

  • So he had a hand in sinking the middle class and making the Wall Street guys rich. So please do not bring his name are any of his corporate BS up any more. The working people of America will no longer buy it.

  • Thats not the same guy DUMBASS. Actually do research before you speak lies you idiot. It's obvious that you have now Idea what the hell you are talking about, You come on to places like this to spread your bullshit union propaganda so people like you can take advantage of other people. You are a hack!!

  • David S Lee is a Professor of Economics at Princeton University and is co-Author of "Long run impacts of Unions on Firms: New Evidence from Financial Markets, 1961-1999. This is proven data that shows how union companies hurt the economy. THE END, YOUR GAME IS OVER FLUXCAPACITOR2008

  • Ok big shot your still a backstabber and Lee sucks. Im just happy that youre in the minority and the working class doesnt need you or Lee. Can any of you new world market economy guys list some jobs that pay over $15 dollars and add to the GDP of the United States? Because we have tens of millions that need one.

  • Yes, I can. The Construction Industry. I noticed your an electrician, I work for an electrical contractor and as you know, a 2nd year apprentice can make 15$ an hour UNION OR NON-UNION. You can me a back stabber all you want. Your comment about backstabbing is proof that the Employee Free Choice Act will give Unions bullying rights by the way the card check is going to be designed

  • By allowing UNION members to take away the secrete ballot, you FLUXCAPACITOR2008, Have just proven that those who disagree or simply choose not be apart of a Union organization will be harassed or bullied. The new card check system will allow the "opinions" of those who oppose, to be taken away. So.......call me a backstabber all you want, you are miss informed, You have posting on several other videos about this and spewing false information.

  • The thought of an organized work force is the only thing that will strikes fear in the hearts of the Washington power base, we need take our government back from the big business fat cats that have been controlling Washington with their money. And an organized work force is the only way I see we can get done. That is my only motive.

And I ask how do we take back our government, do we do it as individuals or do we do it as a grass roots special interest group or as worker unions.

  • Not true, there is not one thing I can say or do to make you or anyone do something they dont want to do

  • He was an advisor to Presidents Bush and Clinton on the Advisory Committee on Trade Policy and Negotiation (Office of the U.S. Trade Representative/Executive Office of the President)

  • Lee serves on the corporate boards of ESS Technology, Inc., Linear Technology Corporation, iBassis and Daily Wellness Company.

So I do not think David S Lee Is not in the working mans corner.

  • Well I do, because the guy that your talking about is 71 years old and not the Professor of Economics at Princeton University. Your an idiot

  • He was also President of ITT subsidiary ITT Qume, formerly Qume Corporation, a computer systems peripherals company which Lee co-founded in 1973 prior to its acquisition by ITT Corporation in 1978.

  • And recycled rhetoric from big-money corporate interests wont change that.

  • The Wagner Act, enacted during a severe nationwide Depression, gave workers the tools they needed to bargain for a better life and make sure that they got a fair share of the value they created. Now, during a new economic crisis, we need to restore the freedom to form unions and make the economy work for everyone again.

  • Check out LaborNerd for the answer, and for more quotes showing that the anti-Employee Free Choice Act forces are still fighting the same battles against workers that their predecessors were fighting in the 1930s.

  • Here are two quotes from anti-union corporate shills fighting against legislation to give workers the freedom to choose a union. Can you tell which is from 1935 and which is from 2009?

To support labor in this objective by enacting this bill would permanently close the door to recovery.

The act is a poison pill for our ailing economy, which is why every major business organization from every industry sector has come out in strong opposition to it.

  • Leading to the logical conclusion that Big Business and its front groups dont want to keep the status quo—they want to turn the clock back to the Depression and make sure that workers cant bargain for a stake in the economy.

  • In fact, todays corporate scare tactics and disinformation are eerily similar to the opponents of the 1935 Wagner Act, that first established workers freedom to form unions.

  • Can any of you new world market economy guys list some jobs that pay over $15 dollars and add to the GDP of the United States? Because we have tens of millions of people that need one.

  • Most of the union busting going on is because the GOP ultra rich power base doesnt want the middle class to organize because when we do they get what happen in the last election. By the looks of the comments I see, we have them on the run and the next 10 years will be for the middle class. So stick to your guns and dont let them use their scare tactics on you.

  • WTF as Americans we should be trying to raise our pay up, and not let brainwashed people try to brainwash other people into thinking they need to drive down wages. The middle class will vote out the rest of the GOP and any democrats if they dont get their heads out of their asses and support the middle class.

  • google search - The Long-Run Impacts of Unions on Firms......If you don't believe

  • Google (Union Busting Scare Tactics) if you dont believe

Sorry k94grd08 you are in the minority once more.

  • OK, I did search that and found nothing but peoples opinions on union busting. The Long-Run Impacts Of Unions on Firms, by David S Lee and Alexander Mas is cold hard factual data that shows how Unions hurt the economy. You Sir, have provided nothing with substance only opinions and ideology. ....And I'm a non-union worker, so actually your the minority. Sorry

  • Lee has served as the CEO of eOn Communications Corporation since 2003 and has performed as the Chairman of the board of that company since 1991. From 1985 to 1988, Lee was President and Chairman of Data Technology Corporation, a computer peripheral company. Prior to 1985, he was Group Executive and Chairman of the Business Information Systems Group of ITT Corporation.

  • People often do the signing but vote "no" in the secret ballot. It's not easy to say no when it's face-to-face and you probably know the guy in front of you.

And if they don't need to have a secret ballot, then why would they ever have one if they got the signed 50%? The guys doing the organizing aren't stupid.

Anyone who thinks giving power to the unions is going to solve anything has probably failed economics 101.

  • Agreed.....

  • People have some pretty naive ideas about how unions operate. And if this bill passes, then this really is 1930. FDR powered the unions too. Anyone want to guess what happens when unions force wages above what productivity would allow? That's right, you get unemployment.

  • The few want to control the masses. Greed and power is what the Republican Party is about. Democracy is rule by the people. Are we fools? Unions get lazy after they get what they want. The auto industry for example. The big-three unions got money, benefits and retirement. Unions are good when they start out, but turn republican after they have their way. The unions will not scale back to help the company, and now the auto industry is near bankruptcy. Think wisely unions.

  • I think we all should have a choice to join a union or not. By the way I think freedom of choice is so important that my employer should have this as well. Employer free choice act. He should be able to tell the union to get lost. After all its his company, let him have the right over his own product. If you do not like it quit and start your own company.

  • You have been watching to many moves, union thugs what is this 1930

  • then why have unions been disappearing since 1930.

  • k94grd08

Wake up people (1930) we are in 2009 and we have been losing union and non union jobs by the tens of millions. We have one way trade policies put in place by the ultra rich power base that are putting extreme downward pressure on the middle class. Do you think they want you to make a fair wage, HELL NO they want you to use credit cards and keep you in debt and divided?

  • Guess what Billy Jean.the secret ballot is a staple of american life. It isn't up to the "people". It is the law. That is what the bill is for, to get around the law. Tell me there won't be pressure brought to bear on people who "vote" for the secret ballot. It will never go to a secret ballot because of the union thugs pressuring people to just sign the card. Anyone who doesn't see this cheexy attempt to make fun of a secret ballot is a total biased fuckhead. Secrecy in elections is paramount.

  • Why should a majority of worker suffer low wages and benefits just because a few workers or one militant nut job had bad experiences with a union?

  • Don't hide behind the secret ballot argument; because you dont care about workers rights, you are concerned about profits.

  • unions aren't about the rights of workers, they are about making sure that some workers have more rights than other workers

  • Same can be said of corporate bosses.

  • the bosses want more money. so do the workers. so do the shareholders. the people want cheap products.

  • You may want "cheap products" but I prefer quality. American/Union made products actually last. Would you rather have skyscrapers and bridges built "cheap" or would those be something that you would like a little quality out of?

  • good. So you can buy union products. Some people pay more for expensive cheese from france or vermont, thats fine too.

  • @jstil7

Union products don't last. GM was gonna fold because everybody wants a quality FORD, as pathetic as that is, and the japanese car companies dominate quality, with no unions.

Unions don't do anything but keep piss poor employees in overpaid jobs, nowadays. That doesn't create quality. The days where unions fought for rights anybody deserved are long gone.

  • More scare tactics no one is going to buy it, the working class is voting out all the no nuts senators. The next thing we will work on is taking away the tax shelters and tax brakes for moving over seas. The vote is grater then your money.

  • So middle class unite and lets get the names of who ever votes no on this bill out on YouTube and out of office, dont believe the lies. Big business doesnt have your best interest in mind. They will come up with jobs will move or go away, more lies. We need to use our vote and push back.

  • Big business and the talking heads have some of the working class brainwashed into thinking unions are harmful, Big business has them thinking that they should drive down other workers pay to their level. Wow!! Lets try driving lower wage workers up in pay. Why would anyone say no to better working conditions, benefits and pay? Look up some facts to post, dont just go by hearsay

  • if they aren't harmful tell me why the materials for a GM vehicle cost 5k and they sell for 25k....because some GED assembly line worker thinks he is a skilled worker. They need to bring in robots to do their jobs to prove they are dispensable.

  • The fat cats dont want unions they want to divide and conquer they are running scared after this election. If they vote no on the EFCA they will be out the door shortly after. Read the bill you will have a choice of a secret ballot or not. Dont be fooled by the talking heads look at your self.

  • Did you have a bad experience with a union or did you grow up in an antiunion household? Whats wrong with better pay and benefits?

  • As much as I live Rachel, she didn't hit all the dangerous points of this bill. For the handful of companies that are positively affected, this legislation will ruin the financial stability and worker/management relationships. It will be a sad day if this passes. Unions, once a positive force in workers relations are simply not needed any more.

  • You must be an employer, or you have been listening to Rush Lameball to much.

What she is saying is look at the bill it still gives the employees the choice of a secret ballot. This bill gives the workers a vote to go union or not, this is the American way. Its called the will of the majority. If they want a union they should have a choice.

  • Rush Lameball is an idiot and yes I am in management but I have worked my way up from the bottom to get where I am today. In addition, I grew up in a union household until my dad grew tired of the unions antics and bad decisions. This legislation would be fine with me if unions were held to the same standards as management in the process of unionization. In my experience, they have not. I am not saying all unions are dishonest, just the ones I have come in contact with.

  • You senator that dont vote yes on this, will be voted out. Your little youtube spys and suck asses are not going to change anything.

  • You A-Holes

Dont try to keep me from making a living wage, WHY!!! Would any worker not want this, if you are a worker and you dont want this you are a moron. If you post a comment come out and say if you are a worker or an employer.

Im A Worker and Im for making a living wage

  • I don't often use this term, but, on this issue for sure, this Maddow is a real douche bag.

  • I work as a consultant to manufacturers that wish to set up or expand in Mexico. What this dumb bastard, Maddow, doesn't understand is that this legislation will create lots of jobs...in MEXICO. The idiots that vote for this will shoot the American worker in the foot. I know this for a fact. Pathetic.

  • Gonna blame OBama for the stock market? I dont think so you skank Bush loving idiots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The legislation could allow unions to intimidate. Employers already have tons of ways to intimidate employees. It's good for the unions, and the GOP has basically fixed themselves permanently as an anti-labor party.

Back in the 70s (and even 80s) they would sometimes manage to win support from a union or two.

  • Comment removed

  • Government elections are held in private for good reason. They let people vote their conscience without undue outiside influence from.

The same holds true for union elections. Maddow claims that businesses intimidate, but the same is true of unions. Maddow also claims employees could choose to hold a secret ballot, but how would they choose? Secret ballot? A show of hands?

Elections should be by secret ballot. This protects the employee from intimidation from businesses and unions.

  • she is def a lesbo

  • You just catching on to that?

Jeez, try to keep up, pookie.

  • keep up on what, the sexual preferences of b-list cable news commentators? i think you've got it covered, keep up the great work

  • You get an A++ in weak comebacks.

    Congratulations!

  • What did the unions do to the American auto industry? What has it done to the European work force and companies? And finally, why is it alright to certify a shop to be union in a public vote but to decertify it, the EFCA states it has to be a private ballot? I invite a comment from any of you who are for the EFCA!

  • Now! Let me tell you republicans a thing or 2 about unions! Bush Sr and Jr messed this country up trying to be all macho and fight the world while losing allies and USA trroops!

Unions strengthen the economy republirats! John Boner and McPain in my ass can all go to hell!

  • Hey mojack! Union workers work way harder than your sorry ass! Republicans are afraid of hard physical work but are great at ripping off taxpayers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • my ass union workers are lazy fucks who don't do a good enough job to be able to find work on their own.

  • You're out of your mind. The difference between a worker who has their rights, safety and dignity protected and one who is taken advantage of by their boss is their union. Unions have been responsible for every workplace benefit this country affords people, unionized or not. There's one great example we are all thankful for every single Friday: It's called the weekend.

  • i didn't say they didn't, but unions today are a joke and almost single handedly the reason for GM going bankrupt, and your food prices being so high. and your statement isn't true at all. I have never been in my union but being intelligent enough to know your rights can serve you just as well. Unless you are refering to the right for union workers to do less work be less productive and have more breaks all the while retiring early from a job they were FAR over paid to do.

  • and you can't thank the unions for the weekend idiot. that is more likey a call by management for improved moral and productivity. particularly sunday, you can thank the bible for that

  • You don't know what you're talking about.

Paid vacation, sick leave, weekends are all the result of Unionized workers fighting for benefits that then became standard for all workers. Of course, a lot of non-union workers don't get paid time off, or sick days, or reasonable work weeks. I wonder what would happen if they were unionized...

  • i do know what i am talking about ....retiring at 55 with outrageous pension, and while they are working "skilled" jobs (MY ASS) a fuckin robot can do they get paid way more than the competition which is why the products become un-buyable and then the industry tanks. ENTIRELY THE UNION FAULT, and then they don't want to do what is neccessary to fix the problem so the idiots just lose their job. I have never been union and never will, and i always have had sick days, paid vac. and good hours.

  • what the unions fought for were good, in the last 20 yrs they have turned into over paid, self-wreckin idiots. if you want a good job with good hours and good pay DO A GOOD JOB...or maybe FINISH HIGHSCHOOL.

  • SucceedsAtWill

I know at 27 you know everything, but why would anyone not want better pay and benefits? Did you have a bad experience with a union or did you grow up in an antiunion home. Have you ever been in a union?

  • I have confidence in myself and my own abilities. Whats the point of demanding pay raises if you just force your company into bankruptcy? who will pay you then? dumb fuckin blue collar guys only ever see the tree not the forest. Specifically UAW, which is the worst union in existence. 100k a year for something a robot can do? and then try to they call themselves skilled labor....union members are a joke

  • Greedy people suck; companies try to keep wages low so they can drive up profits. By keeping wages low people cant buy your shit. Thats why youre going bankrupt. Think about it if people make more they spend more and if they make less they spend it on food and rent!!!!

Its the old shoot myself in the foot scenario or head in your case.

Move to china and sell your shit to them and dont send it back here because we will not buy it.

  • where do you think profits go? into building the company and creating more jobs which creates more spending. The greed is union workers who think the deserve a big salary for doing something retards can do. You are obviously a short sited greedy blue collar loser so keep thinking you got it all figured out.

  • SucceedsAtWill

What is a good profit for some one to make?

  • or what about the entire shifts of workers that get a full wage to go to their union workout room, or are even allowed to wash their cars without doing any work the entire day? LAZY UNION FUCKS ...STAY IN SCHOOL KIDS....be more than 1 step above welfare

  • More Lies

  • Companies will have their little white tie bitches spread lies call you names and intimidate you. This is what is going on in the work place. So take your tie and stick it in youre . Mouth because your time of intimidation is over. No middle class worker will believe your lies.

  • Keep talking it only proves why this bill is needed.

  • hahaha if you are pro-union than this bill will make it WORSE for you...fucking dumbass blue collar guys, the secret ballot HELPS YOU YOU IDIOT

  • More lies, why is big business so scared if it will harm unions. If it will harm unions they would not fight so hard.

  • The current secret ballot system makes workers names no secret.

  • Keep talking it only proves why this bill is needed.

  • alright, the intelligence that has led to the UAW to be the most laid off union in the country, is obviously the same intelligence you used to come to your conclusion.

  • Num nuts its not just union people that have been losing their jobs. Its the policy of our government over the pass 10 years on behalf of big business that has got us were we are. Markets and businesses need regulation; its a free market not a free for all market.

Government has let the kids run the candy store.

  • actually its not. it is the unions that makes the overhead so high and the quality so LOW. that no one wants to buy anything Made in USA. and is precisely why everything is made in china or mexico where people realize what they do for a living can be accomplished by someone with down syndrome.

  • SucceedsAtWill

More lies, this line of shit has been used by you scum sucking CEO types to justify your greed for years. You scum sucking CEO leaches run to China and Mexico to get around labor and environmental laws. You take advantage of workers in other country that dont have laws to protect them at the expense of your fellow countrymen.

You should be ashamed of your self

I would put my money on the US workers all day; if you hate USA workers so bad you should move to China.

  • and you blue collar fucks don't realize a monkey can do your job so you should be happy w 10 bucks an hour and not 50.

Its fine, blue collar stupidity really only hurts the idiots who practice it.

  • it isn't good business practice to spend $30 dollars to make a product that only sells for $5....in mathmatics that is called a "negative"

  • SucceedsAtWill

Look at how the election went for you; youre out numbered no one is going to buy your lies. People are feed up with your greed I know you will shout out some more lies so have at it. It only shows why this law is needed.

  • thats the democrat i know, when presented w FACTS that don't support your uneducated thinking, just say its not true. What you think a business can survive by paying out more money than it takes in? haha the funny thing is you think you make sense...again that is what seperates the workers and the owners, the winners and the losers, those who fail at life and those who SUCCEED AT WILL (yea its cool how that works out)

  • You had your 8 years of Bush uneducated FACTS and the country went into the crapper, now its labors turn, like it or not so sit down buckle up and shut up. Stop crying because you cant have all the money in the world. Why cant a business make 2 Billion instead of 3 Billion? I will tell you why GREED, if they pay a living wage people will buy more things and they will sell at a higher volume and make more money. You most likely make under $60k a year and you call other people losers.

  • hahaha uneducated? your the union loser breaking your back and beggin for another nickle. Hussein is making everyone go broke the only difference is you will run out of cash far before I do. most likely because I will still have a job

  • Its about giving workers the same rights you have, if more business owners pay a living wage people will buy more things and they will sell at a higher volume and make more money. Business owners work with purchasing and selling contracts all the time to make sure they get paid for their services. But if a worker wants a contract its the end of the world.

  • Why are you so freaked out, if you are paying a living wage and treat your workers with respect your workers will pass on the union anyway?

  • i don't see why you are for this bill if it will hurt unions...is all i'm saying, i don't care either way, what makes America the America I love is the fact that are disagreements lead to the compromises that run the country. Each party is entitled to fight for what they want

  • This is fun.

Good point, what Im saying is if a business pays a living wage has safety standards and show some respect by treating workers like people. The workers if given a choice will pass on unions.

  • I 100% agree with that. There are many small business owners that take great care of the employees, but there are some who don't and those who don't deserve it when the workers unionize to get what is deserved. However, fair pay goes both ways, a job is only worth doing if the right compensation is there, and a job is only worth compensating well if it is done right.

  • together we have bickered and solved the countries woes.

  • The majority of the people voted the Republican Party OUT because they keep catering to the few with money. Soon the Republican Party will see the light and do what the majority wants them to do. Like the things that help the most people and not just the greedy.

  • unions personify greed

  • you've come to a conclusions without fully understanding business or even the concept of supply and demand. and that is why you are and will always be blue collar.

  • Look at supply and demand now the demand is gone.

    Trickle Down will not work

If someone makes a low wage they will not buy big ticket items they will be paying for food, rent and only what is needed. Pay a living wage and the economy will grow.

  • SucceedsAtWill is one of the few people with a brain that has posted here. By the way, the EFCA will be great for creating jobs....in MEXICO. What a bunch of populist dumbasses.

  • Flux Capacitor did you know that businesses are lining up to move more work to Mexico should this idiotic legislation be passed? I am sure that you don't have a clue.

  • More scar tactics

You must be management because you would have to be a moron not to want batter working condition, benefits and pay. We the workers of America will not believe your lies anymore.

  • I am gay for rachel <3 LUV HER!
