  • you suffer with a certain temptation.. I must say however, that Elder Packer is not wrong when he teaches church doctrine.. He is simply reiterating Spencer W. Kimball in "the Miracle of Forgiveness" while for the time being all you can do is remain celebate... Do not underestimate the power of God to perform miracles on your behalf. Do not doubt but be believing.. it is a hard thing to overcome.. but keep doing what you can.. and believe God will make up the difference.

  • why are you gay? In fact it might be comparable to someone who is handy cap. because they are either heavily influenced by culture, a result of reverse role parenting, someone who seriously seeking attention, or a sense of pride. Can it be a sexual thing? If so its a perversion of the mind and in Gods eyes is comparable to Pedophilia and Beastiality. Or itcould be the women and their ultimate push to be like MEN, LDS church is wrong. a prophet is someone who prophecizes, they're not elected.

  • So, are you still going to church?

  • Hmm. I hate to hear things about the church discriminating againt gays. I'm a straight lds and I have heard all my life that the church is true but sometimes the individuals are the ones that are wrong. If someone in the church discriminates others for whatever reason, it's their problem not the churches. I think you'll be blessed for your efforts.

  • @tallguytrav No offense.. but Its Your religion ( NOT the people) that states that a non-straight man CANNOT hold the priesthood... ask why..

  • Watch this guys videos please and if you find time let us know what you think. youtube.com/watch?v=tP95wwtid_g

  • I'm a gay mormon too and I believe we can change -because I believe it's a product of your environment and not congenital---I can guarentee you have a cliche background of a distant/absent father and doting mother---or any variation of that theme--I doubt I will be cured in this lifetime but I have made a covenant to stay temptation and have faith that God will do the rest in the hereafter

  • @vaughangarrick LOL. Im lesbian and I am mormon and I am love and am close to both of my parents, and they are still married. Both of them had a big part in my up bringing. I think in heaven your not gonna be happy, because your not going to change who you are. you are still going to be gay. And then you will be stuck with a women forever and forever and forever...never getting the chance to be your true self. gay and happy and honest

  • @patchdolly it's just a generalization- it doesn't apply to all however, it is amazing what high a percentage it does apply to-I know of a few gay people who seemingly come from very happy and stable homes-it's just my theory though that if one digs deeper you can always find something that upset the delicate framework of a person--just a theory though. I'm glad you're happy because few gay mormons and mormons at large are happy

  • I don't know what is more worrisome, religion being taken out of context that we have to be a certain way to be accepted, or idiots who assume that people being gay must be a disease or they have something wrong with them.

Prayer cannot change your emotions. The church's views will think there is something wrong with you, which is wrong on the church, it is discrimination. All religions have the same view on being gay, but why does the bible show incest is ok? That's disgusting.

  • what makes our life whole and complete, is a relationship with God, great friends, great family and a life partner and children to share this life with. that is complete happiness. i hope the church and the world accepts gay people so that we can have the same rights as straight people and be married in the temple and have a family.

  • Yes I believe with all my heart that it is important to have our relationship with Heavenly Father, but just as our body needs food, medication, clothing, a roof over our head so we also need to have companionship of love, passion, kindness and care that is different to being just friends or family with someone..

  • We would never rely on prayer alone to heal the sick, we would need medication and food to sustain the body along with prayers. It is embedded in our genetics to belong to somebody in this life, to have companionship and a family and it is not enough for gay people alone to rely just on the spirit to have a fullfilling happy life.

  • hi there, i am a gay mormon. I have been inactive from the church for a number of years now although I still have a strong testimony of Heavenly Father and of the Spirit that I felt during my time as a member. although I know my Father loves me, the one thing that I cannot comprehend is that its ok to be gay in the church but you have to be celibate until all is revealed in the next life.

  • stumbling, stammering homo... write it up, and read it... you sound like an idiot, man.

  • The Elders aren't prophets. They are simply men who want to control you and use their prophet status to spread hate. The Mormon church is a cult. A young cult at that. It's no different than Jonestown. I hope that Gay Mormon just becomes Gay and drops the Mormon.

  • HTF are you a gay mormon. thats like being a nazi jew.

  • Haha your so right yeah of course God wants to change gay people before wars, hunger, racism,.... of course makes perfect sense! Omg God wants gay people to change people's mind and its time for people to grow up a little bit.

  • I believe that, how could homosexuality be a sin if you were born that way?. It's like saying your condemned for being made the way you were. It doesn't make sense because how can we control what we were born to be like. I think we aren't accountable for that. I think God would understand if we are born that way ,it's ok to be what you were born to be.You mentioned handicap well on account of something they can't control because of that they aren't accountable, so it is same for gay.

  • I believe that as long as you try your hardest to overcome this, even if it doesn't work, if you can honestly say you tried your hardest at the judgement before Christ, then you will be rewarded. That is all He asks of us. To try the hardest and do the best that WE can do, for if we can do that, He will provide the rest for us.

  • I guess I'm one of the few open minded Mormons out there cause I've never had any problem with people choosing to be gay, I've just always disagreed with it. I don't support any violence, I don't support any persecution or oppression or prejudice, but I don't support a gay life-style. But it's funny, whenever we disagree, whenever someone says something critical about homosexuality, our throats are jumped down and we're persecuted.

  • @thndrbkt wow ur a genius... ur whole statement makes no sense whatsoever, its like you are arguing with yourself

  • @aGayMormon it made total sense!!! and if you're wondering how I dont have gay desires anymore is because I prayed. and God told me that I have a choice to be straight. So walla I'm straight

  • @aGayMormon You just proved my point. When someone disagrees, they're ridiculed. Everytime. You obviousy don't understand that you can disagree with a practice, but still allow it to go on in tolerance. You know what the scriptures say, but you have my love and support through this...trial, hardship, life curse, whatever it is. if you think thats acontradiction, go ahead and think that. you're wrong, but you can think what you like :D

  • @thndrbkt Being gay is not a lifestyle in itself; it simply determines that you are born to fall in love with people of your own sex. That is the only thing I know have in common with other gay men. The lifestyles we live differ as that is determined by other factors such as background, education, interests etc. Stop the silly gay- lifestyle labeling. There is no "one" gay- lifestyle.

  • @thndrbkt I would like to add to your comment and address this young man. Why do people think that being gay is a RACE!?!?!?! ITS NOT A RACE!!!!!!!!! So I'm sorry but I used to have gay desires and I pulled through and i'm completly straight. God cannot make you gay I'm sorry but if you are a gay mormon you might want to rethink if you really believe in the mormon religion because God talks to the prophets and apostles and God told them what to say Boyd K. Packer was told by God to say this.

  • @thndrbkt ahahahah hahahhah your on crack.

  • @patchdolly Yeah, high and the crack of life! hahaha.

  • @thndrbkt Listen to Matt... Gay ppl don't CHOOSE to be gay, you must have not even listened to him. And please don't say you are persecuted, it is insulting to the ppl that actually are, that need protection from being gay bashed or tortured emotionally by their religion.

  • @thndrbkt With people choosing to be gay ? Dear.God this person is dumb, please help them to learn about homosexuality before they speak.

  • @tjohnzvamm Did I say that? Did i put in anywhere in any of my comments that I think people can choose to be gay or not? No, I did not, so why don't you learn some literary skills and then maybe your intelligence level will rise above that of a two year old

    Snap!

I'm kidding, I don't think you're like a two year old, I just think you should actually READ my comment, instead of trying to extrapolate things I never even implied... God Help us all...

  • Matt, I feel for you. It a catch 22 to be mormon and gay. The church's official line is abstinence all sexual relations outside of marriage. As marriage is currently excluded for Gay people it makes the matter all the more difficult. God has not revealed anything on this matter that will address these issues. Maybe its similar to extending the priesthood to all worthy males. All we can do is pray for more tolerance & understanding to all people. Peace brother.

  • So, your a Mormon who believes more in science than the word of God?? Whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same...that is scripture! If your against the prophets of the church, you are against the lord, that's all there is to it!

  • aGayMormon leave the LDS

"'The unholy transgression of homosexuality is either rapidly growing or tolerance is giving it wider publicity. ... The Lord condemns and forbids this practice. ... God made me that way, some say, as they rationalize and excuse themselves. ... This is blasphemy." LDS manual for teenagers.

"(Gays )are probably the greatest threat to America going down I know of...They're the meanest buggers I have ever seen." Utah State Senator(and twice-LDS bishop) Chris Buttars, 2009

  • @TruthSeeker211 I hope you have also looked into the church's previous opinions and teachings on interracial marriage... specifically that of Elder Boyd K Packers... its one thing to judge me and others, but you of all people should understand what Im going through. I wish you love, happiness, and all the many blessings Heavenly Father has in store for you...

  • @TruthSeeker211 God will judge you for bigotry and hatred, be warned.

  • @TruthSeeker211 I agree completly

  • Leave the Mormon Church

"We want to help these people, to strengthen them, to assist them with their problems and to help them with their difficulties. But we cannot stand idle if they indulge in immoral activity, if they try to uphold and defend and live in a so-called same-sex marriage situation. To permit such would be to make light of the very serious and sacred foundation of God-sanctioned marriage and its very purpose, the rearing of families" (Gordon B. Hinckley, Ensign, Nov. 1998, 71).

  • @TruthSeeker211

    "Leave the Mormon Church"

That is a very good advice. Here in Europe Mormons are considered the weirdest religious people in a western country. It makes me sick to see how these zealots prevent this guy to be himself and live a life of happyness. Religious psychological terror and brainwashing of little children generating fear and intimidation is a crime to humanity.

  • @ab0kanal I am totally with you on this, leave the church!. You will be way happier and comfortable in your own skin if you just let yourself "be you!."

  • @ab0kanal theyre no worse than the catholics, the church of england, or indeed muslims

  • aGayMormon The LDS MORMONS don't want GAY PEOPLE around them READ and leave LDS.

"We do not intend to admit to our campus any homosexuals. If any of you have this tendency and have not completely abandoned it, may I suggest that you leave the university immediately after this assembly...We do not want others on this campus to be contaminated by your presence." (Ernest Wilkinson, president of Brigham Young University, in a 1965 lecture to the BYU student body, titled: "Make Honor your Standard."

  • aGayMormon actually Mormons do preach and teach, that Black skinned people can repent and have there Black Skin turned to White skin.Read in your Book of Mormon.

"...cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing...the Lord God did cause a skin of BLACKNESS to come upon them(Book of Mormon 2Nephi 5:21)"

"12...the Lamanites who had become converted unto the Lord...

15 And their CURSE was taken from them, and their SKIN became WHITE like unto the Nephites(Book of Mormon 3 Nephi 2:12-15)"

  • @TruthSeeker211 I hope your skin is black on the next life...

  • right on brother!

I give you nothing but support for standing out and making this video. It takes courage and you are helping people understand how real your experience is. Church members just don't know and this video is going forcing them to look at gays differently. You have great courage and I am proud of you!
