The bible is a book written by several authors, many of them far away from the events in time + space. It's an untrustworthy and superstitious source. Lastly, I would like to say that this is just my opinion of what I have seen on comment boards like this. I applaud those of you who have gone on retreats like the alpha course, since it is obviously not easy to surrender your pride and leave it up to someone much greater than yourself.

Someone can never completely describe an experience to another person without the other actually having that same experience. Also, many take societal influences like stand up comedy, news, and other secular media as fact. Much like a grade school classroom, rumors are spread about and it is very tough to figure out who is really telling the truth.

-Selfishness. One's own selfishness and pride will not allow someone else to believe in something that may seem impossible to them.

-Jealousy. One's jealousy and envy towards someone almost always ends up in an agggesive attitude with the end result trying to discredit someone else's point of view.

I personally believe that loving one another in this way is very difficult to secular persons since many believe that we are all mathematical probabilities. This belief that religion is human made and human manipulated is not important if a secular person truly believed in their own beliefs. But without proof or evidence, many discourage others from living great lives in servitude for others and God.

I don't understand when some people feel they have to bring negativity into a great thing. This program gives hope and inspiration to thousands. No one is brainwashing or telling you what to believe. I personally believe that all people are called to love God through all aspects of their lives. The moral of the story my firend is Do not lust after the flesh because you will be dissapointed and God does not approve of being sexually out of control. We are designed for marriage & long term commitment. God also tells us not to do insest (See Romans 10) and Matthew 6:21

I went to an alpha course in 1999 after realising that djing and drinking heavily was not much to really live for. Anyway i had the chance to ask questions, to pray and to meet some nice people. No one brainwashed me or tried to force me into anything. The food was good & here i am now 9 years later a follower of Jesus! Dont hold back please give God a chance. You wont be dissapointed in the long run.

actually the alpha course is chance for people to ask any and all the quesions they want to ask. & it is up to them whether they let it change their lives for the better, or walk away with the same views.

i am sure "sane" people have enough sanity and control to decide for themselves what they want.

& its not just for the young.
