  • actually, isn~t murder wrong by definition? Otherwise, it would just be called killing. Maybe I'm a little off on that, but I think that's the definition ... something like "wrongful killing or something. I can't see straight enough to look it up myself.

  • Why is there an unbelievable disproportional gap of the percentage in the prison population's between the "professed religious verity", vs the professed atheist that reside?????

  • you're awesome man!

  • you're awesome man!

  • you're awesome man!

  • Figures you'd leave off the important part of his question: why, or why not! Checkmate!

  • Within an atheist framework, murder is a greater catastrophe because the victim is consigned to oblivion rather than some afterlife. Within a theist framework, the murder is simply jumping the cue.

  • How about "except and unless... the invisible sky daddy gives the order"

  • LOL!!! BTW, What does Tiny Tim, Frosty the Snow Man and Ebenezer Scrooge Have in common?... Their All Dead!!!

  • you should all look up the definition for murder and murderer, lol.

  • lol that killed me rotfl

  • LOL

I don't believe it is wrong to murder. In fact, I don't believe anything is wrong. All our morals are subjective which means we base our actions on what we like and dislike. There is nothing more to it...

  • I have several friends who murder birds and deer all the time. that guy never said humans. for me I'm a serial fly killer. I dont want to do it but when they fly on my food and buzz my face they must die.

  • If you intentionally try to physically hurt my family, friends neighbor or self, and there is no stopping you, killing you becomes my duty.

  • me like

  • (Facepalm)

Murder is killing. Not all killing is murder.

  • @nishbrown - Very true.

This question is most easily answered, by looking at progressive secular law systems.

(Ones that don't endorse capital punishment, would probably be preferable as examples)

Murder is wrong, killing has many shades of gray.

  • Best response I've seen yet.

  • I could murder a curry.

  • @8DX What did Tim ever do to you?

  • ouch, heavy. you should have at least have added something like "because I know I won't kill someone, unless if I had a good enought reason to do so".

  • Fabreze works wonders to get the smell of rotting corpses out of the rugs I roll the bodies up in... er... so I'm told....

  • Thanks for the early morning chuckle, Paul :-)

  • The laws about Murder vary wildly from country to country,

I believe France make allowances for crimes of passion. Coming home from work and finding your wife in bed with your best friend and killing him is considered to be a lesser crime than killing him because he was taking the piss out of you.

Which is think is fair. People in that position have had the balance of their mind's temporarily disturbed, might only be for the first 10 minutes that someone is really irrational...

  • @DrJReefer ...but thats the 10 minutes you just spent smashing your best friend in the head with an ashtray.

  • God and people with leap year birthdays can kill on wednesdays only.

  • Rofl, nice one

  • Good answer

  • EPIC XD

  • Is there a difference bewteen murder, and killing another person?

  • @sugelanren yeah. if your intention is to eat them, then its not murder.

  • @gothatfunk Hmmm, what about Jeffrey Dahmer? His ate his victims. . . among other things :P

  • @gothatfunk

Stop being epic you funky bastard ! :-p

  • @gothatfunk

    Yes. Then it's just "hunting."

  • @Sarahon06 i think the PC term for cannibalism these days is "aggressive dining".

  • @gothatfunk ROFL

  • @Sarahon06--you know one day Ted Nugent *will* have a show about that, now, right?

  • @sugelanren Murder is a legal term for the unlawful killing of a human by a human.

  • @YY4Me133 actually, that's not quite right. It's doing that without legal justification.

  • @integralmath That's what "unlawful" means: "Not conforming to, permitted by, or recognized by law or rules."

  • @YY4Me133 not all of which isn't recognized at law is 'unlawful'. Anyway, it's not a point I want to argue a great deal since I said you're not 'quite right' on that definition. But there's more to murder as a necessary component than what is on offer in your comment, and it's entirely possible to commit murder but be legally excused from the crime.

  • @integralmath My point is, abortion isn't "murder."

  • lol nice

  • Yup, unless I'm doing the killing. I agree :)

  • That's what God said.

  • oh snap! I have to take a step back and let that truth just marinate. Damn!

  • Lol! I guess we know who sets the rules.
