  • @Trexgnu how do i get to the apple backup tool?

  • If my macbook crashes, then i lost my apps, I see i have to download every app, but, if i bought some apps, what happen? Do i have to pay again?

  • Some great video content here... If any of you guys want FREE Ipad. then check out my channel for the latest FREE Ipad give away

  • Wouldn't it be easier to just backup all your applications every month or so?

I use Windows XP, and all my apps are in My Documents / My Music / Itunes Media / Mobile Applications.

I just highlight all the apps in the mobile applications folder and drag them to an external drive!

  • im having a problem that i cannot see my apps in the application tab, i bought some apps and i want to do a backup in case something happens, please someone help me find a way to make them show there :(

  • windows users can use Print2PDF

  • If you use evernote, it allows you to save directly to that, which works nicely

  • If you got windows vista you can do this, may work with XP, dont know.

While being in the App List press CTRL+P, then choose your options. Press OK. Then when it wants you to choose the writer, choose "Send to OneNote 2007". Then press OK and it will open OneNote. From here you can save it as .PDF.

  • why dont you just save the "iTunes Music" folder?

  • Dang, Chris! How many apps do you need?!

  • same thing in windows ctl + p brings it up :)

sweet tip chris wouldnt have known about it if you hadnt posted a video :)

  • It works with windows if you use cutepdf

  • Apple has to make it easier for people to backup their macs and mac like products.

  • In Windows I could just use the built in XPS Printer

  • Wow this is good. I actually made a data base for my music using Excel but this seems a lot easier.

  • Thanks!

  • One: Like other people are saying just back up the apps so you don't have to locate all your hundreds of apps again, and two: if you forget about an app when redownloading them, you probably don't need it.

  • yeah those of you who are commenting on the sound... its because he is doing a screen cast and for that he can just use the "built in" mic on his computer that may be why it is like that.

  • Comment removed

  • i found a way to do it in Windows Vista and 7. I don't know if it works in XP.

If you want more info about how to do it, just PM me on youtube.

    Thanks

  • Good tutorial :P

  • wow, chris is finally doing a screencast

  • I'd just back up the apps from time to time on a flash drive.

  • is it only me who have problem with the sound on every video he make?

  • cant you just back up your itunes app folder

    \Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications

  • Chris, can you maybe do something so your sound is a bit louder in future video's? Thx.

  • Use CutePDF to print to .pdf in Windows. It's free.

  • Comment removed

  • its really easy on windows. its the same process as on a mac. just make sure you have PDF995 installed

  • I've noticed over watching Chris's videos, he says the word, "Capacity" alot.

  • In Windows you can do exactly the same but their is no 'pdf' button. What you need to do is change your printer into Adobe PDF.

  • SPEAK UP MAN!!! #LOL

  • Why doesn't iTunes store that data in your Apple store account...

  • sound is diabolical...

  • what r u using to record?

  • stopped watching kuz i couldnt hear him

  • :( I have my volume up the entire way and I can barely hear chris. :S

  • If your computer crashes, you will also loose the pdf

  • @Mackrekker Well then Print it

  • @Mackrekker Thats why you print the PDF. Thats what Chris was getting at, once you have the list you can print it and keep a paper copy. Or if you don't want to print a copy you can save a back up to a thumb drive.

  • With 3 kids we hit over 900 apps and now with ipad to be out soon," forget it"

  • I don't hear what u are saying.

  • @spyplism same I have audio on loudest and cant hear him

  • @xROBERTxDAVISx yeah, the same. Only whisper that I can hear. :)

  • 10 pages of Apps, over 600 apps. OMG LOL

  • command... PEEEEE

  • handy! #LOL

  • NitroPDF works :D

  • For Windows 7 users at least by default you may not be able to save to PDF, however you can save it to a XPS file which like a PDF is fully searchable.

  • make audio louder man

  • @alewisgb lol put your volume up i can hear and mine is low as fuck

  • I just go to iTunes folder on the Finder and then I just copy all the iPhone apps (.ipa files) and back them up on an external drive. So if my computer crashes, I can just drag the .ipa files from the the external drive to my iTunes folder again so I don't have to download my hundredths of apps all over again.

Just an easier way if you don't want to re-download your apps.

  • @ReneAlanisJr Yeah, while watching this vid i was wondering the purpose of this pdf if the computer did crash. And also y would you search the pdf for apps if you can search in itunes. Confusing vid

  • will time machine back up my apps?

  • And how do we do it on Windows!

  • I just back up the folder on the PC where the apps are saved by Itunes to a network/usb external drive, works perfectly. This option just wastes time.

  • @DigitalTechLife

I should add you can just copy this folder back to your pc anytime or to another PC as I did by copying it to itunes installed on my netbook.

  • neat application

  • FIX

    YOUR

    GOD

    DAMN

    AUDIO

    (for the seventh time)

  • @DrummerGS dude i think u should fix your audio cuz i hear it just fine..

  • @noamize Well the audio itself is fine, but it is very quite. I had to turn my volume up all the way to hear what he was saying.

By the way, Windows users can download a program called CutePDF to print to a PDF document.

  • i thought u could backup the apps themselves #WTF

  • It'd be so much easier if they had a steam like system where you can just redownload your stuff

  • Let's ask for Apple to resolve this... we need access to that list with an Apple ID @iTunes with an easy way to download the Apps... do you think they don't have it? #lol

  • @purplewolfpimp i thinking really hard about doing that..... because the only expirence i like about ipad...its comics ebooks and youtube hd......netbooks don t have that ...but on time netbooks can have aplications exclusive and take the power again.....the future of medium portable device is a netbook convertible in tablet with all aplications of the world

  • why is the volume SO LOW on your videos Chris??!

  • if you need to think about if youve ever had an app ... you dont really need it.

    stupid idea

  • @purplewolfpimp atleast we don't need to listen to you're crying anymore:P

  • Thanks.. I just did it. Great idea!

  • Time machine?

  • #LOL thanks man

  • #OMG That's awesome!

  • That's pretty cool...it will be helpful when I get my new computer.

  • Very helpful Chris thanks :)

  • #LOL

  • doesnt time machine help solve this problem incase your computer crashes all your data is backed up right??

  • @ace7394 yes it is

  • It's called Time Machine. Backup your computer using it.

  • So you are backing up information on your computer in case it crashes. But, you saved it to your desktop......

  • @arustedspork22 hes gonna print em...

  • 1) if you computer crashes and you lose your songs and apps then wouldn't you lose the PDF to. 2) if you wanted to get all the apps and songs back you need to go back and add them manually...thats shitty.

  • taking a screen shot of your springboard is also helpful because you know where the apps were too.

  • i wish i had a mac! but nope anyway thatnks :)

  • #ZOMG

  • #LOL

  • chris you youtube videos are always too quiet

  • u fucking apple fanboy! chris make a fucking video about htc, samsung, sony nintendo, etc. ur so retarded!

  • @braddudeguy fat dude in the mom's basement, shut the fuck up. u know that he would give apple a blowjob

  • @snowman2149 Just because you can swear doesn't make you smart. Get that through your mind. Next, just because he doesn't do things you want him to, gives you no reason to start name calling. The world does NOT revolve around you. Alright? Great, nice talking to you :)

  • @snowman2149 lol he makes many of them. dont call him a fanboy, he used to be a windows nerd before.

  • Windows can do this too...

  • fifth
