  • Amazing!!

    Dear Santa, ...

  • Amazing!!

    Dear Santa, ...

  • i love this aircraft.. its a privelege to work on them.

  • beautiful, Rolls Royce engine maybe

  • @omotigre2004 Yes indeedy - RB211-535E4/4B to be precise.

  • Chuck wouldn't have done this ... Thats why he's an "old pilot"

  • God I love that plane ...

  • There are old pilots,

    There are bold pilots,

There are no old, bold pilots,

  • @pabsan07 Dunno about that Chuck Yeager is still around and kicking so that saying is a bunch of fodder. He is old, bold, and one of the badest mofo's to ever sit in a cockpit.

  • GREAT!!!

    757 IS FANTASTIC!!!!! COOL PLANE

THANKS GOD JOB, MORE VIDEOS PLEASE

  • what a beuiful plane one of my favourites. wouldn't mind flying a 757 or 767 myself haha beutiful engine sounds. nice video!!!

  • who would ever dislike that piece of beauty?

  • These air force 752's have had upgraded thrust, so i bet theyll be packing out at about close to 45,000-50,000Ibs thrust.

  • engines sounds like music to my ears. SO much thrust... so distinctive.

  • The Sound is like Music to my ears !!

  • Delta pilots are the best...thanks guys

  • It almost sounds like a prop plane at first in the last segment where you say "Crank up the volume !!"

  • love the sound of the rollsss royce

  • Amazing things the airliners can do for people movers. The 757 is not your Grandfathers Buick...

  • The 757 is one of my favorite aircraft, Awrsome vid! I had no idea they could turn on a DIME like that! That pilot must have been feelin' some serious G's (for an airliner)!

  • Just like a kid with a new toy.

  • The B757 is my favorite airliner. I've flown in it for four international flights plus one more domestic flight. It's got elegance plus a sportster appearance.

  • downright incredible. for such a huge machine, my god!

  • thanks for this video bro. just made me realize that our airforce isnt completely shit. still could use some fighters though.

  • Love the sound of those engines! Makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck every time. Thanks for sharing!

  • i'd have loved to be a passenger on that flight! hehe

  • 2:14, loved that shit

  • BEST PLANE EVER!!

  • im always nervous at airshows when theres jets flyin over my head.

  • what an engine sound...amazing noise. :)

  • @immortalisblog

I'll have to agree with you there. When we first got these aircraft and they started doing their handling display, we couldn't believe the noise this thing was poking out, let alone it's performance on the final climbout. Since this vid was taken, the a/c has been modified and the engines uprated to produce even more power, but I haven't seen a handling display since.

  • @ejvideos07

    pratt n whitney engines? =)

beating the meat to the sounds...... beautiful

  • @sonicboom2885 Rolls Royce RB211

  • @immortalisblog well.. in fact most of the noise is from the air hiting the wings

  • still one of the coolest vidz ever on youtube!!!!!!!

  • @Southwestairlines737

Ya reckon ?? I also filmed the "fly by then vertical" but got sick of people commenting that it was fake. Now every man and his dog has a ripped off copy on Youtube saying it's going vertical - hardly, the climb out angle during these displays is 45 degrees.

  • @ejvideos07 nice i kinda figured that...ppl dont appreciate aviation like they used to...and skrew negative comments they are just haters!!! ppl obviously dont know what they talkin about if they think thats fake..you did good man!!!

  • @Southwestairlines737

Thanks. The number of BS comments on youtube appears to be directly proportional to the number of icecream lickers at any given airshow

  • Perhaps the finest commercial airliner to grace our skies. A true pleasure to fly.

  • @portmanpaul2 have you flown one of these aircraft? if so thats amazing!

  • @aboveyourhead

Hard to say. Anywhere between 250-350 kias.

  • BEST PLANE EVER!!!!!!

  • Sports car of the skys!!

  • EPIC FOOTAGE! AWESOME SOUND!

  • @bdwitt1 Sports commercial class. lol

  • when i began to fly the 757 from the 737, the baby 737 had to step down from the stand because the 757 took its place in 1 day.

  • That last flyby at full thrust was crazy... usually when you hear that sound, run for your life

  • the spool-up just after 1:54 is just so nice...

  • I once took a crap on one of these, the toilet is really nice

  • thanks for this video i live in nz!

i like how the pilot throttles up as he goes past you and I like how you've saved the best bit till last! Great Video!

  • The only reason pilots fly the 757 is to take off like that. looks like fun

  • Wow

  • the best of the best 757

  • Only modern commercial airliner that can do aerobatics

  • impressive for a commercial airliner!

  • what is the purpose of this aircraft in the RNZAF? just wondering, i would guess midair refueling or transport?

  • @erad5 The RNZAF has two of these aircraft and they've been modified for a combi fit - mixed passenger and freight in various configurations including full freight and full passenger. A large cargo door is on the left front side. NZ doesn't have a requirement for midair refuelling. The 757's are used to transport people and freight all over the world in support of exercises and operations, and have recently done two trial flights down to Antarctica - landing on the ice.

  • The 757 is very overpowered im told.

  • @xterrasesc... I guess it could be called overpowered - but I don't hear any complaints about that from anyone... The two RNZAF 757's have now had their engines uprated to give them even more ergs.

  • I feel privileged being around these machines, multi million dollar equipment and they thrash the arse off them every air show for your entertainment. GO KIWI's

  • Ok witch one used the GE CF6'S ?

757 of the 767 ? It sounds like Rolls !

  • 767. The 757 in this vid has RB-211's fitted.

  • The CF6-80 is on the 76 but the 76 use also the RB211-524G

on this 75 is the RB211-535 E4 Engine installed

the main evidence for the E4 is the Common Nozzle Exhaust

    krgd Rob. Maintenance Engineer for 757 767 A300B4 CRJ700 and CRJ900

  • This honey of a 57 is handling those maneuvers like a champ! Good girl.

  • RB211+757=One hell of a plane!

  • I have been told those were the HOT ROD's of commercial airliners. Any truth to that?

  • Two words: HELL YES! I've only been on two, but I'm sold. These things are like Ferraris! If you get a chance, go on one, you won't regret it.

I'll give the Kiwis this much: they know a good plane when they buy it and they know how to bring the best out of it! Awesome video! Fived and faved!

  • When they started flying, I heard B757s described as a "Tactical Airliner". They apparently have a healthy (don't know the number) thrust-to-weight ratio.

  • @DOCSpanky Yes. Yes there is.

  • @DOCSpanky Oh Hell yea

  • @DOCSpanky The 757 has a really really good power to weight ratio

  • @DOCSpanky i would say so

  • love to land one of those babys.

  • I wonder if there is any room for two GE-90 engines on a 757. That would be so damn great with all that power.

  • not at all.

  • love the sound of those engines!

  • What can you say about an aircraft that shares the same RB 211 engines as the 767, but weighs nearly 15000kg less. I'd like to have seen Tex Johnson demo one of these. =)

  • @k1w1shooter where do ya live??

  • @TheToppstv New Zealand, k1w1 has a point

  • Great video! You've got some really nice shots, especially that closing flyby.

Gotta love that 757, what a great plane.

    Yo!

  • Flew the 757 for 5 years and still get a shiver down my spine when I watch it fly!! I've flown many different jet airliners and the 757 is hands down the best.

    Nice video!!

  • thats in NZ ! Kiwis can fly :)

  • i am sooo downloading this on my psp haha

  • Great video!

  • Sounds so amazing :)

  • The sound! omg x3

  • spectacular shots... looks otherworldly against that angry looking sky... nicely done!

  • wow! I loved the bit where you've stuck in the 'crank up the volume'. Oh such sheltered lives we lead as domestic passengers - none of this airforce style takeoffs with tight banking turns #8 )

  • Rolls Royce mate - it's the pommie whine you can hear....

    :-)

  • oops - accidentally hit the remove button instead of the reply - but to the person who was asking - it's a 757-200

  • thanks for the clarifying, that's what i thought it was....but always can't be too careful.

  • 1:55 Phwoarrr! Sounds bloody amazing!

  • Even these NG 737's can't beat the 757

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!

  • The RNZAF are pros when I comes to flying the 757. I'm a US Airways 757 pilot and I would be scared as shit to fly my 757 like that...KUDOS!!!!

  • What an Amazing Video

  • and that pilot, went home, sit on the couch and watch some tv...i mean how insane is that? is there any more in this life than playing around with a 757?

  • Beautiful aircraft, superb lines.

  • Yes I think so too. I first flew in one in 1987 and I still think it looks great.

  • My other car is a 757.

  • coolest pilot ever

  • WHAT THE F....?!

    Amazing!

  • Amazing video! This was filmed from a golf course? WOW I'd love to play a round of golf there!

  • WOW at 1:18 to 1:23 looks like the plane has been light up with some projector lights from the exterior, so amazing

  • Went on one of these yesterday very uncomfourtable

  • yeah i know. They are very cramped from inside. Airbus are more roomier.

  • i'm going to sell my car and buy an 757 it's in some way better

  • your gas prices are going to suck tho lol

  • and talk about the insurance!

  • LOL :p

  • @airberlin333 Nice comment.

  • I think I jizzed a little :)

  • my second favorite aircraft... 757!

I showed this yesterday to of the pilots where I work... his jaw dropped and he salivated. I showed the vertical climb... and he just said "STALL!"

He used to fly 757's for DHL... I am an aviation maintenance tech. at a somewhat small FBO.

  • What planes do U work on? I am an A&P (was one) here in he US. I worked on 737, DC8,9,10. And General Aviation of all kinds :)

  • Yeah, I'm guessing it was empty because the 757 has power to spare! However there's another video on youtube of a 757 going near vertical and it was a lot steeper than this one.

  • Beatiful

  • 767 on roids?

  • I saw this demo at Avalon 2009. Very impressive handling. Thanks for posting the video.

  • I fly frequently. Just once I'd like to sit with the pilots in an empty plane and let them show me what those things can do. Just one time. Aviators are lucky SOB's. I say that with the utmost respect.

  • Very nice vid!!

  • Great vid,

The sound is incredible, gotta love those Rolls!

  • It'll be a sad day when these are taken out of service!

  • A limousine with sports car peformance. Those Kiwi pilots think they're back in the 50's in Spitfires with Griffons. But you must admit those RB211's make the aircraft come alive. Very nice.

  • i took this plane to cuba!

  • WOW!! I get to fly in one of those, in July.. I was wondering what it looked like... - I wasn't looking forward to the flight, but after seeing this - I think I'll be ok now...

    Thanks for sharing with us!

  • I watch this over and over and would give anything to be given permission from work to take an empty 75' and throw it around for a bit!!

  • Well if you ever decide one day during a long flight that you'd like a career change, you know what to do . . .

    :-)

  • Sick!

  • Looses all of 10ft on the go-around!!!!!! id say theres no payload or much fuel though

  • Definitly no passengers or freight - don't know how much fuel is on board.

  • Probably the best handling airliner ever!!

  • Gobbs of power. Love it.

  • Awesommmmmmeeeeeee

  • That thing moves more like a fighter than a passenger plane

  • Why didnt the pilot put in the landing gear? cant they get damaged?

  • It depends on the VLE (maximum speed with gear extended) of the aircraft. I think the VLE of the 757-200 is around 270 kcas and this aircraft isn't going anywhere that fast with the gear down.

  • Fantastic!!

  • rad!!!

  • Beautiful aircraft, beautiful engines. That last clip sounds like a squadron of Stukas.

  • Jeepers - thankfully I'm not old enough to know what that sounds like !!

  • that fly by at the end was super cool

  • coooool

  • The 757 with RB 211 - 525 engines seems the perfect match. Beautifully balanced machine.

  • damn listen to those rb-211s purr, beautiful haha

  • It appears very sluggish If You know what I mean.

  • Low air speeds + size.+ plus many more attributes makes the aircraft sluggish.

  • I like 757, its so amazing.

  • these things are a beast i love them

  • did you go to the airshow there today? it was amazing. Especially the F18 that they got over here from australia.

  • No. I'm currently serving so seeing aircraft buzzing around all day isn't a novelty. Ohakea's turn next year. Running Airshows is exhausting work. I guess the 757 put on a good show ?

  • wow there is something beautiful about that airplane

  • It's engines are ripping the air into shreds!! ARRGH! I love that sound @ 2:14

  • Great aircraft and great video. Camera angles were very good and there was none of that annoying shake. Well done. I really didn't know the 757 was so graceful. 5 stars.

  • Thanks for the comments. My camera work wasn't that flash - I kept kicking the tripod - I edited out the worst bits.

  • Well, that's all backstage! At least we got to see more of the plane than just the tail! It's still great :D

  • I want this pilot when i fly to Canada in September! I loathe flying so wanted to see what the 757 was like. Please don't tell me any bad stories!

    Thanks for great video

    J

  • those clouds look nasty

  • This plane has lots of thrust and its not carrying passengers or a shit load of luggage either.

  • I have always thought that the 757 has a unique and beautiful look. And the racey whine of those engines. wow!

  • kinda scary. screaming metal bird. gorgeous light in some of those shots.

  • really nice

  • How fast was that plane traveling at 2:23 ?

  • Hard to say. I could open up a can of worms by suggesting too high a speed, but I would hazard a guess that it's somewhere around 200 - 250 knots. This pass was for the low cloud base version of the display so the aircraft didn't need a lot of speed to execute the final climbout.

  • Nominee for "Lt Col Arthur 'Bud' Holland Award".

  • siiick

  • amazing skils

  • Great vid! Not that it got exceeded, but what's Vfe in this thing? Anybody know? I'm guessing no more than 250. Somebody tell me.

  • 340Kts or .84 mach if on the UK register.

  • lol first time ive seen flying with gears down

  • Just once, I wish I could take a ride like this on a 757.

  • b757 my fav!!!=)

  • I've been on many commercial airliner test flights.. empty sans fuel and a handful of crew, they all are very impressive performers.

  • To bad this isn't a conventional 757, its an RNZ Air Force 757, which isn't filled with all the seats of a passenger 757, its missing a lot of "guts" compared to a passenger 757, and notice they do specific things to create drag to achieve the aerobatics they do, landing gear down, flaps down, etc.

  • Not so, my friend. This is a regular 757-200 with standard RB211 engines, complete with vip seats, standard seats and galley. The aircraft config isn't changed for a handling display.

It's not aerobatics, it's a handling display - no excessive g's or anything.

  • Well, I assumed it wouldn't be the same inside, not because of the situation, just in general since its a military plane.

Well, a lot of this stuff, I would consider aerobatics, because some of it is kind of not normal in the sense of a Boeing 757 doing it, like the sharp turns, and all the extra stuff, you won't find a normal 757 doing any of this.

  • Well not on an average Delta Airline flight anyway!

  • love the guts of these pilots... bec they know, a small mistake that thing can kill them, that thing doesnt have any ejection seats!

  • Love the distinctive 757/RB211 sound

  • Concur - powering up at low level is a sound not normally heard.

  • It sounds great! I love it! Its a shame we dont have operational fighterjets anymore!

  • I think he mistook that B757 for a Skyhawk! :-)

  • I don't think the 757 would look that flash wrapped in white plastic . . . . .
