@ash7990 It was recently, yes. But the garage is an old-citroën specialist. Most of the cars he fixes (including ours) are way older than this BX. Our car was a '84 Citroën GSA :)
And about the hydraulics: Our GSA is still on it's origiginal hydraulics (178000km!) and it's just fine. It's about maintenance, yes, but replacing is often not neccesary.
sorry but isee here ou confuse betwen conjector/dejenctor and the HLM PUMPE it s not the pumpe who does that noise but its the conjector/dejenctor who does this noise and you chauld be carfull that ur hlm pumpe must be good fixed or you make explose your dejenctor as it happned to my bx thanks lol i become littel specialist hahaha
I drove a BX 1.9 diesel for years, until it was stolen and destroyed. The best driving car on the road by far. Amazing in the snow. My dashboard lights packed in too. Big deal !
With the BX it's all about maintenance. These cars are reliable, they just need taking care of. And since they're cheap to buy and to run, loads of them end up with idiots who don't know how to drive and maintain a bx...
My Dad used to have a 1984 (B reg Mk1) BX about 8 years ago. He sold it cheap because he thought it wouldn't go through MOT. Turns out the new owner put it through anyway, it passed with flying colours and we still see it driving around today, still in mint condition. I bet if he sold it today instead of before he would get a few bob for it.
drove one of these years ago as a taxi - doors fell off dashboard lights packed up for good, even a dealer could not get them to work - but it was a hard worker and covered over 200,000 miles before it was scrapped!
My citroen is pretty messed up. The paint is peeled off, the hydraulics is struggling to work and every other day I get another leak problem. But it only has a 100k
I must tell you that in my country there aren't any specialists :). The peeling of the paint happened to many other Citroen BX owners. By hyrdraulics problem i meant that the pump is strugling to work. And i don't have that kind of money to change the pump every 60k
Ye don't have to replace the pump every 60K, that's bollocks. Replacing the fluid and spheres, cleaning the filters and flushing the brake lines should be enough.
the 1982-1994 Citroen BX was assembled in
Rennes, France

Did you mean this was a curtosy car while yours was being repaired? If so was it recently? We have much much much newer curtosy cars in UK.

I love Citroens but only the earlier stuff I find the new ones boring as really.

Suspension seems hard. Looks good though!

Sounds like a 1.4 TU engine, and isn't that bad.

Nada recomendable el hecho de forzar el ritmo de subida ó bajada del sistema hidroneumático.

I don´t think that the BX is awful... In my opinion it has a stylish and timeless design. Not as "over-designed" like the most cars today.
...thanks for that funny presentation of the hydraulics.

Great cars the BX not many left in Australia.

Hmm... The hydraulic pump does sound a bit rough but it really seems to make pressure very quickly, my BX doesn't raise up nearly that fast...
Oh and the paint/body looks spot on!

You need to renew your hydraulics every 60.000 km. So your problem is without any doubt lack of maintenance. Go see your Citroën specialist.

stijnkraft 4 years ago
Haha! De soms komen er inderdaad een paar foute geluidjes uit de auto!
Welk type is dit eigenlijk? 16/19 TZI?
Timovanvuurde12 4 years ago
