I'm curious to know: Was that shark in the marina area of Bandon, or on the Coquille (where I have sometimes kayaked -- Yikes!), or out at sea from Bandon?
Unfortunately when you hook a shark if you want any hope of removing the hook you have to land it. In this case he threw the hook at the end and the line broke. He took off so he'll be fine which is as it should be. We weren't out there to catch shark at all.
Wonder if the line, the hook. or just being exhausted later killed the shark? Never mind, it was a heck of a lot of fun, for those on the boat anyways. Maybe next time the boat can sink and we can play the game the other way around. Now that would be entertaining.
Dang, a seven foot "shart"?

That was about 12 - 15 miles southwest of Bandon actually where we were fishing for Halibut. I have never seen a shark in close.
