although wikipedia isn't exactly factual, its edited by a number of users and fans, and dropdead posts a link on the myspace that THEY themselves run, and well, maybe you should read it and see how many times PUNK is mentioned.

You just don't know. You've never seen them, you've never met them, and you obviously have never been to any hardcore shows, because if you did, you would know that it is the DIY PUNK ETHIC AND COMMUNITY that fuels them and their music.
