@kleanthis1000 There is no set time limit per say, it depends on how much space you have for the file. So that being said, the longer you record the larger the file size will be. To help keep the file size to a minimum, be sure to use a good codec, I suggest the Camstudio codec, which you can get off their site. If you need more information on this or still need clarification on this, just let me know.

@herogamez12 Well the default save folder is set to the Cam studio folder in your programs folder. However it should prompt you on where to save the file. Hope this helped. :)

@Frostbitealmostdead Oh yeah, and you might try a different video codec with camstudio, I put a video up about camstudio 2.5, and I explain how to use divx with it, its a very good codec.

@Frostbitealmostdead For the most part I used Movie maker for my videos, but later videos I used movie maker live. I would suggest movie maker live, its free, and its pretty easy to use. Just search movie maker live on google you should find it pretty easily.

when your done recording a window should pop up, before you save change where the vieo goes(on the top if the window, you'll understand) and then sav it there.....dont set settings to autoname

I'm having a problem with CamStudio. Can someone assist me? I try to record for a long time (about 1 hour or 2 non-stop), but when I finally click STOP & type a name for the file & click SAVE, I get a message saying "Unable to open video". Why is this happening? It's like I can't record anything for a long time. If I record something short (a few minutes) then everything works fine; I can save the video clip and then watch it.

Can someome explain how to record something for 1-2 hours?

As far as I know neither Camstudio or live messenger works on mac. I was just using a mac theme on my windows comp, if that was confusing.

if ur trying to record from speaker go to control panel>sound and audio devices>audio

make sure ur default device for sound playback is set to SoundMax Digital Audio and the same for for recording device

go to camstudio and and under options click on record audio from speakers ignore the error message and click under options again and click audio options>audio options fro speakers...under sound card device it should say Soundmax Digital audio and then click the

Cont* adjust playback volume>options>properties

click the recording bubble and uncheck everything except wave out mix...click ok and the little wave out mix volume control window will pop up...check the select option at the bottom and make sure the adjuster button is between like 1-3 and make also make sure it says SoundMax Digital Audio at the bottom as well...close it and u should be able to record audio from ur speakers using the sound max digital audio device and wave out mix...=)
