both are great games, an i own both an game on all platforms, but gt5 is more life like, the lighting, the physics, everything! forza is more of a game,an looks like it too, also gt5 renders in 1080p native horizontal resolution, at 60fps in game racing, an 30fps in replays, forza 4 native resolution is 720p at 60fps in game racing, an 30fps in replays! u do the math! gt5 has weather effects,rally an nascar racing, track editor,night an day racing! kart racing,its in a different league!!

look at the dashboard in the car interior view, in gt5 you can see the actual patterns in the fibre, an in forza 4 it looks like a lump of plastic, also the steering wheel,in gt5 you can even see the crease of the leather, an forza looks like a lump of plastic! the roof also, in gt5 you can see the holes in the material, an stitching, in forza its just a lump of plastic, in game racing forza 4 cars has nothing on gt5s insane detail!! xbots always talk about forza pre renders,gt5 is king by far!!

If I had to break it down. Forza is a "car lovers" game you don't even have to like racing, while GT is a "race lovers" game. if you don't like racing you're wasting your time completely.

@mwpuga I know what you can do in GT5, but only my friend owns the FM4. What is your exact prblem? You spin too much, you aren't fast enough,...? I'm not able to set better times on forza partly because I don't have the game, but also because of the camera positions. I can ensure, both tracks are the same. The nordschleife hasn't been changed in years. This evening I try a fast lap with F430 Scuderia and LFA and see if I can help you ;-)

Final judgment:

Graphics - Gt5 (look at the side mirrors closely at 1:10 -1:15) although they both have great graphics!

Physics - Gt5 ex: Tire smoke, weight of the cars...everything just feels a but more solid and realistic but Forza is still amazing none the less.

Sound - Forza, by far has the better sound.

Fun Factor - Forza, Hands down funnest racing game overall, just look at the content. just wish it had Night/weather effects. overall both games are great, just play what you got

gt5 mite have better graphics on the premium cars but keep in mind that 800 of the 1000 cars in gt5 look like ps2 other then the graphics the over all game had a lot of little bits that for me made it unplayable so i ended up selling my copy gt5 a few weeks after i got it but i mite pick it up agian because there has been a few patchs for it but thats after i finish with froza 4

Just thought i'd point out a little feature of the f40 to compare how the 2 games do details. Look at the sunshade above the windsheild and compare the two. Gt5 wins with the interior details, track details and everything else. Forza just doesn't look as good. Also the BOV sounds crap in forza.....

Do you people seriously think Forza has better graphics? There is no texture and it lacks depth. Watch GT5 side by side w/ Nurburgring, IT'S EXACT.  Plus the time transitions and weather effects. Froza has the bells and whistles with more race cars and more personalization, but GT5 has more accurate physics and graphics. Seriously, no joke, the first time I saw froza 4 graphics after playing GT5 I thought it looked like a google earth map!

@busaboy18 What are you talking about? Unlike in Forza, Gran Turismo's track starts green and rubbers up. You can visually see the racing groove darken up as the run goes on and you can feel the track gain grip. This video is on the first lap of the track, not into the race. Plus the shadows in GT5 are far better. The barriers and markers are even off in Forza 4, just look at Indianapolis through Arnoge. And that isn't grass looking like somebody's been off through it, face it it's flat!

i own both and i have to say the driving experience is more enjoyable in forza because of the great sound and more than decent physics, the graphics are better in GT5 only when driving a premium, standards look like shit, tracks look better on forza but the cars dont look nearly as good as gt5 premiums

Gt5 is proven more photorealistic than forza. The lighting in forza is too bloomed and the tracks are more realistic in gt5 for the reason that polyphony wants to give a true sense of realism and there is little on the track. In real races, the tracks are boring and most similar to gt5.

Doesn't the F40 look a little skewed on the sides? I don't remember it being so rounded, gt5 has the right straightness of the sides on that F40. The sound felt better too, more mechanical rather the 1 tone grumble in Forza.. Ah well, I've a 360 gonna get the beauty soon myself! I guess some cars from both games standout above the others'... Most GT5 cars sound like vacuum cleaners, but F4 cars sound all almost the same (same sound effects and little bit modified). And F4 car sounds give me a headache, at first i love the sound, but then it just gets worse and worse. Graphically GT5 has more detail, but in some points not as polished as F4 (like rougher shadows). F4 gets more grip, but GT5 is more realistic. I will stick to GT5.

@CutlassLuver Reason why cars are unstable is because your hitting high speed and no car drives like a Prius at 20 mph when it's going 150. Forza still holds on to the idea of a user friendly game so you get more grip, unless all assists are turned off. While GT5 is hard even with Assists on and off. GT5 is better in physics, realism and graphics while Forza triumphs in gameplay and features while adding realism. But truly it comes down to realism and physics in a simulator, GT5 wins here.
