He did some good things for the Black such as making sure we were educated to a degree, but he also did some bad in that deprived us of the vote for so long..I believe an older Smith become wiser and less racially motivated. he understood that we had to build the country and that times were changing. Ian Smith eventually did give up power and supported free elections in Zimbabwe. He did not believe the country was ready for a free and fair democratic political system. Enough said on that point. Nyadzonya and Chimoyo were military actions by very effective Rhodesian units against ZANLA Guerrillas.
