@Gmackematix There had been other school shootings before Columbine such as the Texas tower shootings by Charles Whitman. Also unlike Columbine the victims didn't get a chance to shoot back as they did in this movie. But you are right they weren't original just psychotic.

It's just a coincidence and a bit of a stretch but this piece of music was also used in Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey the same year. Putting that into persective Stanley did put the star of this picture in his most (in)famous role. Again . . . a bit of a stretch but I couldn't helpt but notice.

Is anyone aware that during their punk phase, the group ADAM AND THE ANTS used the theme music to "If" - "Sanctus" - to open their set with on the "Zerox" Ant Tour back in July / August 1979 ?

Although "If" is always very watchable, it still has an air of pretence about it , also

I can never really take upper middle class Public School 'rebels' seriously and it all comes across as a bit of a storm in a tea cup. I find McDowell's character in "A CLOCKWORK ORANGE" far more plausible.
