@SPAZZY1912 That is called a Wicker, it is suppose to disrupt the airflow over the car if it ever gets sideways. But as you can see it didn't really work for the 43 car at Talladega. It is suppose to keep the car on the ground.
@radngnarlysk8 No, He was going into the wall if Bowyer was there or not. Jimmie hit him just right where he was going for the wall, he just got turned more form Bowyer being there.
ESPN probably thought Elliot got seriously injured or possibly killed. I imagine they saw the wreck and figured it be best not to show the full angle, considering they didn't know of his injuries yet, but that's just my opinion. I don't believe ESPN when they said they don't have a good angle of it.
@CaseyTheHedgehog1 yes, it was a good interview, except for when he said Jimmie wrecked him when cleary it way bowyer. Granted, he couldnt see that from them car, but still.....
@CaseyTheHedgehog1 Yes, it was a good interview. Except when he said Jimmie wrecked him. Clearly it was bowyer that sent his car into the wall. Now, granted, he couldnt really see that from his car, but still.....
Its a shame all of the cameras zoomed in on kurt and only kurt. it would have been helpful from a research and development standpoint to actually see sadlers impact and rebound from the wall to be able to learn from it. If you look closley at 1:37ish from kurts bumper cam, you can see sadlers car going through the air.
Terse, and heated words from Kurt Busch. Don't think there's much of a suprise is there?
I'm not surprised Sadler's okay, he's had the experience of going upside down once, twice, three times. I'm still curious to see how he went around here, though, maybe there's something we missed?
@kensethmartinfan he checked up form the wreck and got hit by someone most likely, after this wreck i noticed Kasey Kahne had some front end damage. I think Elliott checked up and Kasey rear ended him.
I can remember the one back in 2003, during Talladega where Elliott was tagged by Busch on accident. He blew over and did several tumbles along the grass.
its a mans sport, you wreck somebody you can expect it to come back and haunt you. i feel bad for elliot sadler, seems like bad luck seems to find him all the time by everyone elses doing. would love to see him back in victory lane
Before the HANS device this would have been fatal for Elliot Sadler. The video of his wreck is near the end. ... yup.. in the past this would definitely be fatal.
@debo2969 Jimmie's really starting to become a heel, and it's gone beyond championships from the chase. He's getting dirty, cocky, and he's become a real asshole.
@debo2969 I know you posted your comment a year ago, but i'm sure you saw the race at pocono this past sunday, when Jimmie came down on Kurt. Kurt def needs to hit the throttle and wreck Jimmie out.
Clint should of been farther up the track, and also kurt cant get bump drafted anywheres, remember? 2009 Amp Energy 500? Brad Keselowski tapped Kurt off of turn for and Kurt wrecked the whole field?
@nickelbackhero19 not yet, we are waiting to see if some of the people camping around the back straight had any home video of it, but they would have zoomed in on Kurt just like the ESPN camera men did. Hopefully someone uploads some home video of it..
@Opeeumm I'm shocked espn coudnt even get in-car video of it even though that wouldn't be as good, kinda sucks because his worst wrecks don't have good video of it (except of 03-04 dega) such as his 2000 michigan flip in qualifing and now this. It just seems like nascar has something against him. He is usually in 25-30th place, when he gets to the top 5-10 we stil don't hear about him. sucks because he's my fav. driver. I don't even know what his sponsor is half the time now.
@nickelbackhero19 I don't think we can blame nascar. I just think that the men working for espn filming the race had tunnel vision on kurt. @nickelbackhero19 oops i meant kahne got into the trees, and if you watch the rest of that wreck you can see ambrose hit the same spot as sadler. its a mean track.
@Opeeumm I was at the track, only filmed Sadler's car on the wrecker since I was on the frontstretch. I don't think any home video exists of it since all the campers are located near turn 3 and no seating at all except on the frontstretch.
@wcwfan33412 i dont believe so reports say he got on his side but it was probably in mid air because if he got on his side while on the grass and slid the car more then likely would have fliped over which it did not
it didn't seem that Jimmie spun spun Kurt. it looked like Jimmie touched him 2 hard n he moved over to the right which where Clint was n. bowyer got him in the wall then he turns which bowyer was at n got Kurt spinning. but I'm glad they are both ok.
second time this year that area was hit that needs to be adressed marcus ambrose hit in in the spring race not as hard but with the wet grass elliot had no chance to slow down...too bad there was no good angle of the crash i really woud like to see how the car got so seperated very strange
@insanebackflip199 no doubt, but i dont think they saw sadler crash til they saw the debris. i think they were talking about the worst between bowyer, busch, and johnson.
@lamboboy001 if elliot didnt have on that hans device you can bet he would be dead right now... and i think elliot slid on the side of the car a few feet what do you think
@lamboboy001 if the grass was wet then wouldnt the dirt underneath be too though? if there was mud that car wouldve surly dug in and tumbled. the only thing stopping that was probably the fact that the hit knocked him into the air haha
@SlicedSmoke14 I was thinking the exact same thing while watching yesterday. This crash is proof positive of how far NASCAR has come in safety in the last 10 years or so, since Dale Earnhardt's death. Incredible.
@relntless80 these cars will always be able to flip, NASCAR can't do anything about it. they can reduce the possibilities of blowovers but cars can find other ways to flip as well.
