If the Republicans win back the house and senate, legalization will be set back a decade.  We must get a foot in the door now. Everything they've been saying will unravel, and THEN we will see real progress. Someone has to take the leap of faith, and it has to be you Cali. You can change America, maybe the world. I have two economics degrees, and I'd humbly like to state that the opponents of Prop 19 are completely in the dark about their price arguments. They haven't properly researched the dynamics of market economics. Simply put, the price of legal marijuana will never increase beyond the price of Illegal marijuana. The fundamental principles of Capitalism prevent that. Competition will drive prices down to an equilibrium at which both corporations and consumers are happy.

Here's a better idea...vote yes on 19 and yes on the Jack Herer Initiative in 2 years.

The JH Initiative forbids employee screening. To say nothing of the conflicts that will cause with workplaces that receive federal funding, that simply will not go over right now with a majority of california voters....nor will the release of all people jailed for a marijuana offense. The Jack Herer Initiative needs a bit of retooling, and certainly needs the trial run of Prop 19 to pave the road for it.
