You can do some marvelous things with it but you do not have NEARLY the kind of control you have in after effects. Honestly there really isn't a substitute for the layering and pixel control, particle control, plugins etc.. that after effects offers. If you or if you know someone who's a student you can get about 40% off the regular price.
