Allah said: When I love him I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask of Me, I would surely give it to him, and were he to ask Me for refuge, I would surely grant him it. I do not hesitate about anything as much as I hesitate about [seizing] the soul of My faithful servant: he hates death and I hate hurting him.
You should becareful when translating that. It doesnt literally mean Allah will be his hearing, sight, hand and foot. Allah is clear of that.
That Hadith Qudsi is in reference to a Waliyy who reaches a certain level of piety, Allah will enable him to hear and see things others can not. These are called karamah's (extraordinary acts) with which the Waliyy can sense things with his hands and is able to travel quickly by the Will and Power of Allah.
