.......Pre-Release and i love the interface on it. All you guys complaining that he's a Monitors Engineer and shouldnt be doing so much adjusting, looking at the video, he aint, anyone who used a Vi Console should know the different pages he's scrolling though. So he's just checking the levels, Monitors is a tasking job. Dont disrepect a sound engineer. Its not as simple as you think it is. Being the youngest Qualified sound Engineer, take it from me. Vi6's are awesome, These are made by my Dads company, Soundcraft, Harman International. Personally i think a Vi4 for Monitors and Vi6 for FOH, but depends on setup, deffo the lower grade on monitors, Vi2 on Monitors now would be awsome, i personally own a Vi1, .............

Vi6 is sweet, 2 fiber cables. Not a fat multi cable that weights 40 kg. But if you upgrade software to 90+ channels the mixer goes slower. Digital ftw!

This "engineer" hasnt a clue what he's at. A monitor engineer does everything DURING SOUNDCHECK and maybe changes a few things in the firsty n second songs. If he's good at his job he loeaves everythin alone after that.

It's probably the soundcheck so that he can make it look like he's working for the cameras. Didn't see no band or anything apart from the engineer for that matter.

I dont fully agree with you. I've had some folks come with some very crappy backings, that were up to 6 channels. And i had a lot of trouble compensating. The shure as hell havent had anybody talented for mixing... but yeah, _usually_ a console just needs to be set up and taken down again... That why the audio engineer often gets stuck controlling some of the light...

ok manowar. lemme let u in on a little secret. a soundcheck is where the majority of the eq (specially voice) is done. I don't know what theaters you've worked in, but what he is doing is perfectly normal

I have used this console many times in both FOH and monitor scenarios and it is in my opinion the best digital console on the market for both quality of sound and ease of use. In both situations. My Fav digi console hands down.

Have you ever tryed Midas Pro 6, Midas XL8, any of the Digico mixers? All of them is owning compaired to this console. But if you want the leading and best consol in the digital world, chek out midas XL8 ;) VI6 is nothing compaired...

Strange that Yamaha would launch all these larger format consoles to the market when their entry level desk would be better. What a scam. More inputs, more outputs, 96K word clock, more FX engines, DCA's, quicker interface. All of these are superseded by your OPINION that a small format console can do a better job. Thanks pal.
