Very nice model. I personally don't think the umbrella shaped bottom is necessary like the Coanda crafts everyone is making. I believe the classic saucer shape would work better. The lower air pressure & hence lift, I think is due to the air traveling radially outward from the center over an increasing surface area; thus causing the air to expand and create the vacuum which causes the lift.

if you want to make this realistic you also need to work on the sound. if it´s flying behind a house the sound doesn´t just get lower but also, and more impoartanly, the sounds get filtered (lost higher freq.). The same applies for when the motor is turning away from you, lost high frequencies.

just use a filter or EQ in the software you are using.

+don´t forget some doppler shifts...

AND you should use better sound source. this sounds like a cheap fan ;)

It's a simulation, on a RC-Heli-FlySim (like Aerofly or so.). Where airfoil, lift and drag should be computed "as real".

Question: How was the virtual model (J.L Naudin's coanda-"UFO") been made?

Because I think that no sim can handle the coanda effect in their code. (I had once issues about this with X-Plane wich is also used to develop new real airplanes!)

MSflySim and most other, use parametric models aka they do not compute the airflow over an wing/airfoil.
