It was written in 1986, I believe (at least that's when the first Demo versions of the song were recorded). It originally had some different lyrics, some of which were brought along when the song morphed into It's The End Of The World As We Know It (the chord progression of Bad Day's chorus was simply transposed up a step. The old Bad Day demo also included the same 4 part snare drum roll as It'sThe End...).
