Heyy Itsz Surprsing Am 3 Monthsz Wit My Surgury Nd Am Starting To Passz Da Ball Nd Evrything But I Wanna Kick Like I Used Too..:( How Much Should I Wait..?
Flip, it's so wierd watching you kick a ball about after 6 weeks! I've just had my acl done and am 4 weeks into rehab and i'm staying well away from a football for a good 6 months or so. The physio's been decent but it's so frustrating when the swelling is limiting full (satisfactory) extension and bend. Sometimes when you want to stretch and tense up your quads and you can't quite get there, it's so annoying!

at first i would do things like flexing my quads for 15 seconds. i did those in sets of 10, 3 times a day. after that wall sits and squats. a lot of stretching hammies and quads. flexibility is important. try to bend your knee more and more everyday. calf raises. once i could do all of that comfortably i swam A LOT. a lot of kickboard stuff to work quads and hammies. after about 4 months of that i started some mild weight training and running. you can find other rehab exercises on line too
I'm at about 6 months now and i can play pretty comfortably but you're supposed to wait 9 months for everything to heal fully and the swelling to completely go away. My knee is still swollen.
well now im 1 month i feel better i can walk faster but not run...i just want to turn 6 weeks to see if i have the luck to dribble a ball that early...lol
hey how were you at 3 week post op..im 3 weeks and can walk without crutches but when i bent my knee it sometimes bothers me an feel like its going to crack or something..is it normal???thanks
3 weeks post op i was barely off of crutches and didn't have a very good range of motion. It is normal. I actually had it pop about 4 weeks post op cuz i fell and bent my knee all the way. Don't bend it further than you're comfortable, it could very well pop.
