  • thanks so much! really helped.

  • Would it be possible if u cud do a video on the OCR core 3 jan 2008 paper question 3? I don't know how to find the answer between the range of 0 and 180 degrees using the "circle" method. Please help! Thanks

  • you didnt explain all the topics? u just did some of the bits, i need everything on graphs and co-ordinate geomety

  • @goldensilverstar AH Well, there you have it. These are video FREE clips on youtube to introduce me and my product. I have put 200 free clips on youtube at this point. To see all I am afraid you have to buy! Go to mathstutorDOTbiz for details

  • Thankyou :P

  • This is soo easy i got A's ...... -__-

  • cheers buddy

  • SUCH A BORING TEACHER. VIDEO FULL OF USELESS INFORMATION.

    yaaawn

  • such a hot voice.. hehe

  • ah thanks man, u really explained it well

  • Thanks a lot.

  • you talk about the shape of the graph being transformed but all you are doing in say for example the parabolic curves is shifting the graph up 3 places and down 2 places. The shape of the parabolic curve for example can only be changed if you introduced a function such as mx squared where m is any real number.

  • A shape is transformed if it is, reflected, rotated, enlarged, stretched or TRANSLATED. So if the graph is moved up 3 places and down 2 places it HAS been translated, hence transformed, ok? mathstutor

  • Not that is incorrect. You have not explained yourself at all all- you have just said the shape is translated full stop. First of all take a look at the actual SHAPE of the curve you have shifted and can you notice that does not change. You are confusing the meaning of a graph and the shape of a curve- remember these are two different and separate things. I have confirmed this with my professor and senior lecturer at my uni and they both agree that you are not thinking about your statement.

  • Remember we are talking about the SHAPE here- the shape does not change, only the graph does.

    Thankyou

  • So if I said the graph was transformed that would be ok? mathstutor

  • kinda reminds me my elementary school...

  • you lost me at hello! very good teacher i do admit.

  • IB's not harder - it's for people who can't handle the A Level.

  • Ha ok. Howcome you only need 36/45 in the IB to get into Oxbridge?

  • im doing IB maths as well which is harder tha Alevel (i am still in the UK tho)

  • IB is not harder, the IB does do more subjects though, but you will find the people doing A level maths do maths in more detail, and those doing further maths do a lot more than those doing IB

  • Thanks i found this helpful- dont listen to rude comments- of course its A/A* gcse- but it isstill examoned in the AS exam.

  • is this essential to go to Oxford or Cambridge???;;;;

  • Is this A level math??

It's not harder than I thought!!

but I'm not good at english...,

  • Did you read my comments about the standard of this video clip? All exams start with material which it is expected that students will sitting the exam will find easy. This is the start of A AS and is the start of CORE 1. A AS has Core 1 & 2 & 3 & 4, so it does get harder! On youtube I put videoclips for free which I hope will help some students and as an introduction to my product. Visit mathstutorDOTbiz to see all the available DVD's. I'm sure there will be something there of "interest".

  • this is very basic A level maths

i havent learned anything from this video (specifically this one, i have found others helpful i am just quite good at translations)

and i have gotten E's and U's in most of my past papers so far.

and in case you were wondering i got an A at GCSE (a low one)...

it gets ALOT harder, especially B section questions, but it is getting easier with videos like this to revise from

Core 1 exam Tomorrow morning :O

  • sick video mannn this is just great revision man

  • I'm doing my AS and thought I would have to drop maths as things were really looking hopeless, however after seeing your videos I understand things I couldn't in class. Brilliant videos, I will definitely be buying some of the DVDs, thank you for making these.

  • Pleased to have helped and looking forward to hearing from you. mathstutor

  • Thank you. Im in the second year of the A Level and my targets an A. You are really helping me try to achive it. Regards, Paul.

  • Some mathematics can be found in different levels of examinations. A little of the this will be for Key Stage three (year 9, 13 year old), the MOST able KS3 student. Then for many in the Higher GCSE (O Level) at 16. And lastly included in the A level, for most as revision, or back ground information for a more difficult topic, but for some, a new to them topic.

  • I am a student in Year 10 but I have done everything is I-GCSE ( harder than GCSE ). And I came 14th in the country in the Maths Olympiad last year. And I am hoping to learn some more advanced stuff. However, after watchning your first video, I am extremely disappointed about how low the standard is. Any advice from you as to how I should find some resources to teach myself some more Advanced Maths would be very much appreciated.
