  • amazing!

  • lack of Gaff in blade runner. The hypnotic lethal of hunting snake eyes. His undeleted scenes where better played.

  • ok.. Yes

  • savez-vous si il y a une version longue en blu ray avec les scènes inédites? merci

do you know if there is a " long" blu ray version with never seen deleted scenes ? thx

  • I heard of this one deleted scene where Roy goes up to the real Mr. Tyrell after killing Tyrell's replicant double (which is why we see Roy in the elevator alone after he allegedly killed J.F.), but I have never been able to find that deleted scene.

    Can anyone help me?

  • @MrConservative608 They never shot that scene so it doesn`t exist. They planned to shoot it, I think they even began making the set, but Ridley Scott didn`t like the idea of a Tyrell replicant so he never completed it.

  • It was before its time and will be one of the greats, can't wait to see the new one just hope they don't change the sound of it, pretty much to me what made it all work together. It came out when I was 14 was my second movie I had ever seen in theater or dive-in at that time and I have seen things you people wouldn't believe, flash Gordon. LOL

  • Deckard is a Pelican.

  • thats my favourite movie. none other cometes to this.

  • Probably This Deleted scene shows was Deckard is a REPLICANT!

  • @atti97 I don't see how this shows that he is a replicant...?

  • @FractalBolt

    Deckard's Eyes!

  • @atti97 how do you work that one out?

  • I feel that regardless of whether or not Deckard is a replicant, a very important idea is being expressed. Does being biologically based grant a sort of special privilege over a synthetic's existence, even if both beings have what you call the same level of consciousness? I like the idea that Deckard is human though, because him being a human shows that we can transcend rigid, traditional views of the world and the mind.

  • Edward Olmos - showing early brilliance as an actor

  • Deckard....Nexus 6.?.. (prototype... Blade Runner). Hunter killer of his own kind. Reluctant from the begining. Maybe now realizes he is none human...the "job" sickens him...awakening of concience, which garrerntees his "retirement" after this mission.

  • This is interesting material....but I think, maybe Deckard is a "Nexus 6" prototype.(Blade Runner). Some memory implants to make him more functonal in his "job". Thats why they have him by the balls...even though he does not want the job of "retiering" replicants..he is still forced too. He is clearly reluctant at the begining of the film to do the job, which is clearly stated is his job, which he is at his best...

  • "God..." "Yes, you damn fool."

  • i spit on metaphysics

  • gaff is awesome we all know he is a blade runner but is he human, bc bryant asked gaff are you going to end up like them 2 when gaff responed i spit on metaphysics

  • this scene is like one in the book. in the book other blade runner says deckard that he fucks the droids.

  • That does actually clear things up concerning the plot, and adds an extra philosophical dimension with the replicants in essence seeking the meaning of and rationale of life from their "God." That shows that the replicants are truly "human" aftrerall. Although only a few minutes, this clip somehow lends all the characters slightly more depth and humanity. True to the lingo and politics of cops, too.

  • @marlboroman1985

Sounds like it only adds a layer of religion, and that's not exactly a requirement to being human. Was a good thing it was removed tbh.

  • @strikerk But what is more human than religion? That which is also least associated with machines, intorspection regarding death and fear of non-existence. But I see your point.

  • @marlboroman1985

Religion is an establishment. A set of institutionalized worship of a god or supreme being. The belief in a higher purpose or power, or afterlife existed long before the concept of religion. The belief that we are immortal souls has nothing to do with worshiping anyone but our own eternal essence. That is the root of religion, but not its requirement. One can be spiritual, without the god of man.

  • @strikerk I agree100%.I'm 53 & most of my life has been devoted to trying to make meaning out of a seeming, meaningless existance. My conclusion is that life is very far from being meaningless, although to many it has become so. It's not about Religion which leads many to despair or delusion. Esoteric beliefs also fail. I think we have to find our own Way, free from conditioning of any belief system or ideology. What would the replicants make of our twisted "god" concepts. A "Hell 4 replicants".

  • @Kristopful Yep, religion is irrelevant BUT I think Humans need something to believe in. This is why the West is screwed now - not only have cultural Marxists taken away religion (belief) but also have disrupted family and racial/ethnic norms and bonds; people do not belong to any group, they have nothing to believe in - they are isolated and easy to control. I would like to think science alone could replace religion but there is a need to believe in "something".

  • @andy7666 I think I may have 'worded' my post badly. I do believe absolutly, in a positive creative being. Some call it "God", but that word has been so misused and twisted into an abomination...a thing of fear and dread too so many... not peace and fullfilment, bliss beyond words and a love we cannot comprehend in our present state of consciousness. That is what I believe. Science cannot replace that "something" which the soul craves. No ideology will surffice either IMO. So I think we agree.?

  • What is Bryant asking Gaff at 1:07?

  • @MatthijsJansen79 He asks, "Do you think he knows where that Tyrell job you VK'd is?"

  • I always thought Holden was a sophisticated Bladerunner ,not this sexist ,foul mouthed yob....I'm a bit disappointed!

  • Makes me wish Gaff featured more, he was incredibly well played.

  • Holden's an embarrassing arse. I'm actually glad he was made immobile ;-)

  • If he is a replicant why in the end he yell of pain when Rutger Hauer crack his thumbs?

  • @adrianeke Because he believes he is human with a human nervous system. He does not know he is a replicant, just like Rachel does not know. He is programed with memories, emotions, feelings; including feelings of pain, or at least programed reactions to pain - to a abnormal disruption to his normally functioning system. When his fingers are broken he perceives them as broken and thus reacts with shouts. Is he truly feeling pain, like a human, probably not.

  • "I spit on meta-physics sirr!" - haha

  • Gaff was great.Too bad he didn't have too much screen time.

  • Yes but he did eventually get that promotion - joined the navy - commander then admiral and ended up saving humanity after all.

Still ended up on Earth though....but everyone has their day in the sun.

    watch?v=VKDkxByrDP8&feature=related

  • Don't get me wrong I love watching all the deleted scenes and am currious what went on in there minds...Having said that, By deleting this scene Gaff is more enigmatic. he had a small roll but was by no means a small act!

Jus' throwing this out there. Blade Runner is a highly praised and loved Sci-fi. Why not make a TV series on scifi channel? There's a lot of crap out there and something needs to replace the majestic Battlestar Galactica series

  • a TV series of the Classic Blade Runner movie would NOT work. the two pillars regarding this work, the book and the movie, stand ALONE unto themselves and are as close to perfection as possible. trying to re-make this or produce a sequel or even a prequel would ultimately be a FAILURE.

hollywood ALWAYS screws things up and this would be no different.for example, examine the Original Highlander movie to the others pieces of SH*% and you get my point. the TV series of "highlander" was PURE CRAP!

  • I know what you mean about the idea that all of these scenes should NOT have been deleted from the movie. The reason that the movie was panned when it first came out was that the plot had so many gaps in it.

These deleted scenes make the movie MUCH more understandable.

I admire R Scott as a director but not presenting the entire blade runner movie as it should have been was an error in my humble opinion.

  • What version of the Blade Runner movie is this scene from?

  • Maybe the same way replicants can believe that they are human, humans can begin to think they might be replicants in order to contro behaviorl. Maybe after Deckard's divorce he choose to use an inplant against self awareness to do the horrible job of hunting and killing. Some of the words said by Bryant and the origami by Gaff triggers a return to the human inplant avoiding an assured reality that is too painful that he had chosen for himself. He is human and repicant in his mind...or not

  • wow... never seen this scene before !

  • ya no shit tell me about it

  • Wow, new to me and I'm a nut for this flick.

  • I think he said "piss asshole" anyways what an awesome scene, I always thought gaff should be in the fucker more, he's afucking show stealer, Holden is fucking great.

  • what about the shit with the blimp, need more fucking blimp

  • As fascinating as these deleted scenes are, who can't stop watching them, I'm glad the end result didn't include them. They explain too much.

  • 0:16 - "You're making me pizazzle." lol

  • where are the delected scenes in the 5 disc set? could not find them..

why don't they just make a version with all the deleted scenes?

  • gaffe is replicant too.

  • Why do you think so?

  • Somehow it makes sense if Gaff is a skinjob, in the book, the russian that comes to help Deckard turns out to be an andy. In the movie Gaff sort of have the same role as that one in the book.

Contrary to Scott I prefer to see Deckard as a human, but then again I also prefer the voice-over narration and the noir feel that gives.

Very nice indeed to see the clip though, guess it's supposed to been inserted after the scene where Deck and Rachael have sex, and therefore his embarresed look.

  • If gaff has a similar roll to anyone in the book, then it would be the bladerunner from the other police station that gives deckard an empathy test which he passes. The russian replicant infiltrator had a very short part. The book was extremely different from the movie, not least the strange mercerism religion.

  • Yeah, Phil Resch (Max Polokov was the WPO guy). I had the same idea. From what I see/read, it seems both Gaff and Resch seemed to have an unclear emotional standpoint (difference is Gaff seems neutral mostly, Resch seemed to have a strange mental complex, which is pointed out by Rick [Deckard] after the VK Test in the car and by what Rachel said [I think it's the chapter before Roy and Irmgard meet up with Pris and Isidore].) And Mercerism, it seemed like a means to perpetual enlightenment.

  • It is preferable that Deckard is a human, if he is a replicant, then the speech Batty gave him before he died is wasted and a bit pointless.

  • not at all.....

maybe deckard thinks he's human...with his memories.

  • @PungiFungi But that just strengthens the audience's sorrow for loss, and empathy for his pain.

  • @PungiFungi

No, it's not wasted and pointless to tell someone who is going to die to appreciate what you have before it's gone. I can't believe you would say something like this.

Guess what... all living beings are close to death. Some closer than others.

  • @strikerk , your reading comprehension need a lot to be desired.

  • Comment removed

  • @PungiFungi Your interpretation of things is very disappointing. Desire all you want, but I think you missed out on something very important at the end of the movie if you think Deckard being a replicant makes the scene any less powerful. I feel kind of bad to be honest.

  • @strikerk , actually I thought Batty's speech to Deckard alluded to how human take their lifespans for granted until when death stares them in the face. Feel bad if you want, I didn't miss out on anything.

  • @PungiFungi

How do you figure? If Decard is a replicant, it's a warning of how little time Decard has left to live. This might also explain why he did not kill Decard. Batty already knows Decard's days are numbered.

  • @JuanIII , I suppose the movie left it ambiguous. I could might as well ask you how do you figure also. Then again, I prefer they never answer this question. Nowadays movie have to force feed the audience everything.

  • @PungiFungi except jj abrams stuff he keeps everything old skool.

  • where are this deleted scenes?

  • He is a Replicant.Pkd saw him as nothing more than a walking toaster.

  • Look up the script online. It provides the answers.

  • The 5 Disc (Briefcase) package has this and many more deleted scenes as a bonus. Not integrated in to the film. This was a scene of Bryant and Gaff spying on Deckard. Gives more depth to why Gaff is always around when important incidents occur to Deckard. My reasoning is that Deckard is Nexus 7 (or higher, like Rachel). He's activated shortly before the noodle bar scene by Gaff, who then "locates" and takes him to Bryant for to be put on the case. Deckard is a replicant with memory implants.

  • It was also in the 4 disc set. Your theory makes a lot of sense.

  • Deckard IS a Nexus 7 like Rachel. They have Emotions. No one else could ever have en posibly killed Roy Batty if not another replicant...

  • nexus 6.

  • I think Rachel and Deckard are one model higher=Nexus 7.

  • hmmm, maybe...who knows.

    never thought of that.

  • you cant just make things up. its different to make a theory, and invent new things for the movie.

  • I actually did not make that up, there is a vid here on YouTube where Ridley Scott says that Deckard IS a Replicant.

  • yeah, that he is a replicant... but not that there is a new nexus 7 model.

  • Actually, Ridley Scott did talk about Deckard being a Nexus-7. See Future Noir: The Making of Blade Runner by Paul M. Sammon. Ridley was interviewed in the back of the book, and he talked extensively about Deckard being a Replicant.

  • Roy was NOT killed!

    His time has come!

  • @USTUBE4000 Do you know where you can find the deleted scenes on the ultimate edition (non briefcase) DVD I can't find them except for in the interviews with cast and crew where they show them every now an again.

  • @cfjackson123 Hey; just looked into this. Seems that the 5 Disc Ultimate Edition does not have the deleted scenes. It looks like the only place to find them is in the Briefcase edition.

  • @USTUBE4000 Ow ok thanks man that's a shame but thaks for replying I guess I'll just have to watch um in the interviews that I got on the other disks, every now an again they show one while Ridley Scott's talking or somthing

  • @USTUBE4000

There is no nexus 7. Deckard, Rachael, Leon and the others are all nexus 6.

  • this is some spellbinding stuff to watch - I don't think these deletes are even on the Final Cut DVD, are they?

  • ok, what the hell was that?

  • This proves that Deckard IS a replicant. The guy asks him, "you have feelings?" Remorse...

  • Actually, Holden is refering to emotional detachment that a police officer is supposed to have, when dealing with legal matters. In this case, Holden believes that Deckard is not detached from his killing of a machine, since Deckard may view Zorha as a person. Only "Dangerous Days", and footage like this, hint at the "gears" inside of a replicant. Shining a light into a replicant's eyes would negate the need for the VK machine, if the "glow" revealed a replicant. Deckard is human.

  • I once heard that the only reason deckard was assigned to the case was because he was a replicant. No one else could have killed the nexus 6's but another. He is like rachel, he does not know.

  • why didn't he have the super strength or reflexes that they had??

  • He did, he fought the all and lived didn't he??

  • no. no he didn't. he shot them. Leon almost fucking crushed his head, but rachel shot Leon in the head. and Batty spared his life. fucking idiot.

  • well yeah but how does that explain the unicorn

  • I am thinking, since Gaffe & Bryant had some knowledge of Rachel's true identity, that Gaffe was sending a message to Deckard. Deckard knew of Rachel's memory implants. He was aware of her thoughts & dreams. Deckard mulls over Rachel's plight & he "dreams" of HER unicorn implant. Bryant is ignorant of this detail. Gaffe plays along till the end. The origami unicorn lets Deckard know that Gaffe is letting Rachel get away, knowing her real lifespan. Deckard can relax & live a full life with her.

  • actually an alternate view is that gaff knows additional information about deckard in that it is inferred in the movie that deckard may also be a replicant. think about it for a moment. replicants do dirty jobs. hunting down replicants is a dirty job. replicants have an obsession with photos, leon's pictures. deckard's pictures on his piano. the glowing eyes of the replicants but not bryant nor sebastian or chew. however, gaff's eyes' color changes and his even glow. deckard may be an andy

  • wtf are u talking about?

the unicorn thing is Deckard's dream.

  • Deckard eyes.

  • I laughed so hard at this. It's great.

  • what a good scene, why wasn't this added?!

  • 'Cause Ridley the Great decided that this scene adds nothing to the story. And who we are to judge his decisions?
