(Definition: a section is 100 levels, and the background changes for each one)
First, the next section gets a little bit faster. Second, the section after that is 1 frame per piece faster. Third, that last speed lasts until level 999.
Last, you're not seeing the lockdown time allowed because I'm forcing the pieces to lock immediately through the power of emulator slowdown. Search for "TA Death" to find legit play of this same mode. 26 characters remain in this comment.
The game announces the next piece by sound effect. Because when you're playing this for real you need all the mental reinforcement you can get (colour, shape, and now sound) to tell you what piece drops in 0.6 seconds.
Is it even humanly possible to play at this speed? Jesus H. Harpoid Christ Almighty WITH CHILDREN, you CANNOT be a normal, functional human being if you can play like this. You'd have to live, breath, eat, sleep, sleep WITH, and literally BECOME Tetris to possibly fathom this...nightmare. I'm gonna go cry in a corner now, because I'm starting to feel like a lesser human being, knowing some crazy person actually programmed this, possibly fully believing another person could play like this...
.. What? No it's not humanly possible, no I don't think humans should aspire to this play and no I will not sleep with a video game. Why would you even think something like that. You poor poor thing.
I'm going to recommend counselling and a visit to the tasvideos web site as linked in the description. Go watch the Family Feud run for SNES. It'll make you feel better.
Sorta. It's completely deterministic once you see your first piece. That's the way the randomizer works. It makes it easier to make multiplayer have both players with the same piece sequence.
I luckily knew what a TAS was...It is good that someone is making a re-recordable version of MAME. I can't wait to see what other people would do with it. (no offence but Tetris isn't my favourite TAS.)
what.

Looks like your average Shirase game.

TA Death was the precursor to Shirase.
KanadianKyuubi 3 years ago
I know that, it just looks like all the shirase videos because of all the fast lock times :P
anass733 3 years ago
Also, I'd really like to see how fast this gets when you get it to lv500.

^ For those wondering, the above comment means that the speed is impossibly fast.

I can't believe it's virtually possible to get to 300 in 1min13 lol
Can't wait to see a 999 game ^^

shame about the desnycs, because I'd really like to see how insanely fast the play gets once it gets to Level 500 and above.
