MMA is very all-around yes. In my life I've done Ju Jitsu, boxing and aikido, so I may be called a kind of MMA fighter: I still know how to kick someone or joint lock him, but those times I've been in a street fight I didn't need it: duck, slide sideways, hard quick panches to the chin and body and the guy is inevitably knocked out. As said, of course once you get pulled down or it's a matter of kicking too, then some Ju Jitsu/MMA would definitely come in handy!

Nope. It's just that if you run into someone that can box and you can't do anything well, you get the result those two guys got...knocked to the ground w/ a quickness. However, boxing from your back is not so effective. A good smart wrestler with so-so swinging fists will destroy a boxer if that's all the boxer can do. A wrestler just has avoid 2 punches on the way in to the take down, then it's elbow and choke time. A shot to the nuts works too. Its a street fight afterall.
