  • you guys awesome!!

  • haha i could of swore i commented on this video before, this is awesome really, i know this is old so where the hell is some new shit !?

  • Awesome prs dude

    sounds pretty good

  • It's an exciting tune, but maybe not the best for trying to get a career started. Keep going guys, I want to hear some new songs.

  • Thanks. We hopefully will have a new song up this winter break. That is... if we ever finish it.

  • I will be very disappointed if you don't...I appreciate that you have a Systematic Chaos mixed with Awake type sound, try a commercial sounding song please like "Rite of Passage" . I'm curious as to what state you guys are in, I would love to attend one of your practices and see if I could be of good use to you guys. I could help your singer open up, and not struggle so much to hit notes. Take care, Andrew.

  • You guys need a new drummer.

  • OMG COULD YOUR BASSIST BE ANY SEXIER??!!

seriously, I want him to have my babies.

    please.

    <333

  • you guys wouldve got accepted and you wouldve won if the singer was there the whole time.

  • pretty good ! reminds me of Dream Theater though !

  • Guys, just awsome. I give you best wishes, this is just sick.

  • there's more music than singing...GREAT THOUGH!

  • are u all brothers or something??? Why is the bassist always buried in the back!?

  • i don't like how you sound so much like dream theater, but i have to say you all have a good amount of talent, and arrangements are good as well as balance, and you know your song really well. work on vocals a little to tighten things up and you'll go places.

    -matt

  • Dream Theater called... they want their sound back.

Not to demerit ML's technical talents.

  • *SR's

  • LOL

  • the riff after the intro part reminds me a lot of dream theater

  • The lead singer is sticking his middle finger

  • all of you guys are amazingly awesome, you will definitely go places! wow and every instrument had a cool solo type thing too that made it awesome too :D very very good

  • My bad...I meant the first solo. It's not that big a deal though.

Oh man, I so wish I could jam with you Vinny. If I ever go down to Florida or vice versa that would be some serious awesomeness. You are the most talented bassist I know of at 16, to be able to play so cleanly particularly when tapping and chording.

    Great job everyone else too.

  • Sounds like the Deftones a little bit...good stuff.

That bass looks very familiar Vinny...sounds amazing :-)

I envy you guys for being this organized already at such an early age. I'm trying to get some shows around here, but being a solo bassist is not very popular.

Little constructive criticism - Make sure you all keep tempo during the solo. Great job.

    Good luck :-)

    -Sean

  • Woah, Amazinggg.

For the Kid in the red shirt.

What kind of guitar is that.

  • Its a "very distinct" looking PRS - pAUL rEED sMITH. tHEY SOUND AMAZING!

  • Sweet.

    Thankss.

  • you guys are the beastliest band world wide

  • i like the bass solo..then~

    wo~that's great

  • LOOK at them its not like there 40 there awesome for their age, stfu to anyone whp says there bad, bunch of losers.

  • DAMN!!!!!!!!!!! the lead guitarist needs to gain some weight but other thatn that you guys are good but Damn this a long song! IM OUT BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • u suck u douche bags!

  • Oh sorry that riff is from in the presence of enemies....well they use it a lot.

  • Wow, you guys are really good! was that original? The only thing is is you need to fix the volume of the mike, you could barely hear him "singing". And I don't think the singer was very good at all - in fact he was horrible! can't sing to save his life. sometimes your timing was off too.

  • Yeah Dream Theater Junior!!!!

    That's what I'm talking about.

Guitarist, work on your bends and vibrato a bit, and drummer work on your timing.

I love the constant motion reference at the beggining.

  • your not so great, sounds like a mess

  • actually that was good dont listen to any one else ther jackholes

  • the lead vocals no. everything else great

  • vocals are the most important everything else is just accompaniment just there for something to follownot hide behind.could use some different tones like a distort or maybe even some accent screams.but over you're quality for your level of musicians.

  • You guys are good but you need a new drummer....oh and forget the asshole right under me...he has no idea what the hell he's talkin about...your vocalist could use some work but it's all tonal work and you need to mix the instruments down a little and the vocals up.

  • i agree for the most part, but their drummer is awesome, PERFECT for that type of music. His technique is very refined, he keeps a steady beat through the whole song and does well with time signature changes. Also he doesn't over play like many drummers in this genre. KEEP THAT GUY!

  • oh good lord.

you guys have some work to do.

    but your really good.

get a new lead vocals tho...or get him in some lessons. :S

  • damnnnnnnnnn cooollll fukin songggg

  • that's TOOL isn't it?

  • sounds like some old deftones if you ask me.

  • pretty much a carbon copy of dream theater... the intro riff is the opening riff to a song called "the great debate" off of six degrees of inner turbulence. It would be good if it was original, but its not.

  • hahaha listen to this guy who thinks he knows dream theater. This song is straight original Suspended Reality. If you don't know who that is, it's the band you just watched. You're a fucking idiot.

  • And for the confusion, I was talking to the guy who said this song is not an original, and that it's The Great Debate. He's still a fucking idiot.

  • just sayin,

it seems like the singer and drummer are kinda holding back from u guys

P.S. i know i comment alot its because i love this song wen u guys play it!!!<3<3

  • the instrumentals are absolutely amazing, your singer seemed to forget the words a bit or something but I generally thought the whole thing was really powerful. Loved the bass and guitar syncopating in the bridge and the guitar solo and intro especially.

  • quiet like the intro, Good.

  • just a question,

is that a guy or a girl on bass?

  • lol It's a guy his name is Vinny.

  • kk ty

  • Kick ass

  • Thats hot your all hot I would love to see you guys famous !!! I dig guys who play gutair though

  • hell yeah!its hellaz sexy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes, I know have posted a lot of comments, but you guys should know, I have not been this excited about any band since someone turned me on to Spock's Beard five years ago. I think I am even more excited about you guys because you are so young yet so infrickincredibly talented. It just blows me away. I could, and have, listened to this tune so many times...it rocks so hard!!!

  • The piano part at 5:30 is so tasty...very, very nice...you will never have to worry about finding your place in any band...really good keyboard players are very hard to come by, and you are very, very good...keep at it buddy!!

  • just one word of critical, serious advice...if you really want to make it, and you can...get rid of the singer and drummer...they are seriously holding you back...they know it and you know it...sad, but that is the politics of making it versus friendship...

  • Great Singer! +

    He's Hot!!!!!

  • ...I have listened/watched this over and over...god damn dudes...you will be a force to be reckoned with in the field of prog rock...guaranteed...holy shit...keep putting it out there...unfricking real...

  • The passage from 3:25 on blows anything from any era away...just plain awesome...

  • Oh yeah. Five star drummer you cats have!

  • just get an instrument for that singer

  • ...and screw those other clone bands on The Next Great American Band...you guys smoke them all...I just can't begin to tell you how impressed I am...just unbelievable...wow! wow! wow!

  • Where did this tune come from?

  • We wrote it.

  • Ignore the remarks of some on here. Trust, me I have been a musician for 35 years and have played it all with many different bands. ALL of you guys are very good. Great, great job.

  • Fucking excellent. I have been playing many, many years and am a huge prog fan. This shit is cool as hell. Keep it up.

  • you guys should do more instrumentals. the vocalist doesn't seem to fit in with the band. check out a band called "the music" you'll love the song "the walls get smaller" also check out a rather indie group called The Ultra Dolphins.

  • not bad dude. you guys are doing great.

  • very nice progressive arrangement!

    5 stars

  • Hey, this is good. Very trippy- cool to see you guys doing this kind of stuff. Good luck with your submission!

  • u guys like opeth?

  • what the devil, the singer crawled out from the floor

  • you should have vinny doing just his bass part because i want to learn it so badly

  • awesome band,need a new bassist though

  • How old are you guys?

  • We are all 16 or 17 years old.

  • i just came by to watch this again. you guys are so nasty! i love listenin' to this video. it rules. do more. you got a true fan. i even want to start learnin' your songs haha. keep it up. sorry to be a geek and post 2 comments in a row.. but you deserve it i feel.

  • seriously?? are you kidding me?? where have you guys been hiding? the key is stick together. good things are headed your way. real good things. you guys rock somethin' harsh man. and young? aha! it's gonna be crazy in 5 years if you guys stick together. i look forward to what you guys do.

  • you guys rock on somethin' cool.

  • I love you =]

DAYUM. haha you guys are awesome.

  • holy crap its dream theater in the form of 16 year olds! You guys are pretty good, but its gonna be hard to make it with progressive because most people have closed off to it. The bassist is the best, is that John Myung?

  • great guitar playing, very dream theater and rushy sounding

  • everything is cool, pretty dang good. but the vocals, i didnt like so much. good job guys

  • Yeah I think I've heard all of those guitar riffs in a couple of Dream Theater Albums.

  • Man that's pretty crazy because I have all their albums and I don't hear a single one that's from any of their songs.

  • this is c-c-c-crap

  • DAMN!

  • wow this is really good

  • either that or that microphone suks ass.

  • your singer has no talent.

  • I thought you were better than a lot of the bands on the show. The show had a bunch of shitty bands "make" the audition just to be a spectacle. You need to tighten up. I liked the intro.........

  • Have the singer help the keyboard player pack up and tell them both to drop dead.

  • Yes Vinny is indeed using his beloved 6-string bass, "Antonia."

  • this is david by the way

  • is vinny using a six string in this video its hard to see

  • Francedudecrap is completely retarded, i doubt he's ever listened to good drumming, cuz the drummer is very skilled as is the rest of the band, however, i don't think the place for you guys is the next great american band, it's probably at a tool festival

  • dude, you are so right!

  • how old are u?

    awesome playing

    needs shorter intro!

    bad drummer!

  • this is great man, singer could have a more powerful voice, but it will come.

  • beginning sucked. bad ass guitar player. get a new singer thats not a loser.

  • Another amazing jam! These guys are great!

I don't think the vocalist merits any criticism. After all it's only a basement recording and in the end it's all rock&roll!!

  • This is not rock n' roll...this is what happened when the corporations took a giant shit all over rock n' roll!

  • Yeah right dude. If anything the giant music corporations largly ignore talented musicians like this. When's the last time you heard progressive rock like this on the radio? No, you got it wrong, take a look at the grunge scene of the 90's to see what happens when corporations take a shit all over rock&roll.

  • that is exactly right...this is what "rock and roll" should sound like

  • ...and this is what rock used to sound like before the friggin' 80's came along and fucked it completely up

  • Oh really? Some of the most talented rock musicians cut there teeth in the 80's. I would venture to say that the 80's gave us more talented fused rock than any other era.

  • no, it did not...any serious rock musician will tell you that the 70's is where it began and ended...but you are entitled to your delusional opinion...

  • ...Boy George fan...or was it Michael Jackson...or INXS...or Depeche Mode...or WHAM fan...regardless...all the same...not that there is anything wrong with that... but it was not even close to what happened in the 70's...

  • ....and this shit blows all that bullshit out of the water...in spades...

  • Well let's see. Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci,Marty Friedman,Vinnie Moore,Dimebag,Randy Rhodes,Eddie Van Halen,I could go on and on. Granted there was alot of talent in the 70's as well. But in the 80's the above mentioned artists and many more took their art and skills to levels still unmatched to this day! It is you that is delusional. But then again you've probably only listened to the what the mainstream radio fed you your whole life.

  • I will give you Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Stevie Ray, etc, musicians are great, but as a whole, the 80's music scene does not compare to the 70's. That is when the record industry began to take creative control over what music was acceptable and popular and later started forming "boy bands". Ugh...just pains to me think what could have been had they left it alone.

  • I was a metalhead in the 80's. Mostly thrash and underground metal, so the corporations had no sway over the artists I was listening to. So between the metal bands and the instrumentalists I have lots of memories of great bands from the era. I was paying little attention to what was happening on mainstream radio. Never mind the glam rock hair bands. Look beneath the surface and you will find a treasure trove full of great and talented music from the 80's

  • Totally agree with 470. This song is minor key. Nothing wrong with the vocals at all.

  • You guys a amazing!!!

All I think you need to do is drop a few seconds off the intro in the beginning. OTher than that you guys are AMAZING!!!!

  • good band and the vocals will only improve since you guys are young your age is against you vocally.

if you guys like what its doing at about 52 seconds into the vid check out the band planet x.

  • ok but get a good fukin singer

  • you guys suck bad!! get a good singer

  • o.o fucking amazin...

  • Lots of talent there you guys are good.

  • finally...a band with a somewhat-progressive sound lol. thank you for not sounding like fucking gay-ass OAR

  • I would hit up the European market, you guys sound a lot like Dream Theater. lots and lots of talent.

  • You guys are REALLY good...the lead singer needs to work on intonation tho ;)

  • pretty good. definately work on turning the mics up.

  • FUCKIN' KICK ASS!!! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

  • hey guys this is david from jazz band great job

  • Hey guys it's Barikid. i gotta say, that song is really amazing! only jacob looked like he was having some trouble hitting those high notes. but that's ok because u guys pwn!LOL!

  • wow u guys r ace u shud realy go on american idold or x factor or summet next time turn mic on or lower the music

  • yeah i hope you guys go far in the comp you guys are really good and the lead guitar is good
