I just love her so much. I will not say she is better than Alina because they are different dancers and I love Alina too. Why fight to get our opinions across when we can just enjoy such magnificent ballerinas in peace. In this particular performance, I like Marianela's expressions during the last attitude derriere turns. And he fierce developpes from 4:50-4:59.

I will always admire Marianela in what ever she's in giselle and sleeping beauty are my fav ballet for her to be in as Iv watched her live :)

I love Marianela, but I will always prefer Alina as Aurora. I like Marianela best in really dramatic roles like Juliet or Winter dream.

@princessoftides87 I know what you mean. Marianela fits dramatic, womanly roles like Gamzatti, Odette and the like, whereas Alina seems to shine more in the innocent sweeter roles, like Aurora or Giselle.

Yes, yes, she is just lovely. Degas called ballerinas "deluxe animals". They are all lovely.

But what about that ravashing music! Eb major, 12/8 time. Unlike a ballerina, it can stand alone - the symphonic mind brought to the dance.

@federicoxxl why should Alina go home? her Aurora is much better than Marianela´s, plus she normaly dances with a beautiful partner, while when we want to see marianela we have to see also the Ugly face of Thiago, who not happy with being a mediocre dancer, has also to be ugly.

I saw her yesterday dancing Princess Aurora in Barcelona in the Gran Teatre del Liceu. She earned herself a standing ovation, something rarely seen in the Liceu.

I remember watching Marianela back in 2001 when she was a first soloist and honestly, I didn't think all that much of her. But then I saw her as Aurora five years later, and the transformation was just unbelievable. She has become such a musical, versatile, yet refined ballerina.

I saw Marianela in Swan Lake and The Sleeping Beauty with Thiago Soares at Covent Garden. My first 'live' ballets ever and it was magical and wonderful! I look forward to the DVD of Swan Lake which I understand will be released in September.

SUPERB, GLORIOUS, SPECIAL, PHENOMENAL. Marianela is just OUT OF THIS WORLD!! Her style is very unique, and I mean because i've seen ballerinas with perfect technique but they dont dance but Marianela is perfect she really DANCES.
