  • Mike Pinder was also in El Riot. Mike & Ray who were the founders of the original Moody Blues in 1964, left El Riot & formed The Krew Kats. John, who was still in engineering school, did not join the MBs until '66, replacing bassist Clint Warwick, around the same time Justin Hayward replaced Denny Laine as lead guitar & singer. Pinder left in '76, and Thomas retired in '02, leaving Hayward, Lodge and Graeme Edge (now 70!) as the only remaining MB originals, still touring 47 years later!

  • Love the pictures-fun to try to figure out which kid is John & which is Ray. Sounds like Ray on lead vocal? Er...they must not have had a lyric sheet LOL.  But it's fun to listen to.

  • Is it me or has Ray Thomas always looked 15 years older than he really was? Pre-moustache he looked about 30, and 1967 on, he looked like a thin Peter Grant.
