i think kim should just stick to sending his condolences to karl rove. I hope he stays as labor leader - hes the 'best' leader of the opposition John howard coulod ever ask for.
True, particularly about devisive politics. Do you remember what little Johnnie had to say the day after the Sydney race riots, "I don't think you could could say they were acting in a racist manner" - what? just cos they were running around beating up people because of their colour.
i was there in sydney watching from my 2nd floor balcony, i dont remember people being beaten up because of their colour....what colour are you talking about anyway? and to call it a "riot" is ridiculous.
I am living in the UK at the moment and trust me, the rest of the world refers to them as the Sydney race riots. (And the ABC - have a look) Have you forgotten the middle eastern guys who got trapped in the toilets with the crowd outside baying for their blood? Or the fact that the racist pigs assaulted the ambulance men and police who finally got them out after a couple of hours? I don't know what you saw from your balcony but I know what the rest of the world saw on their TV screens.
the british media never ever exaggerate anything do they. You probably shouldnt believe everything The Sun prints. Im not saying there wasnt any violence at all but i see more fights on a friday night when i go out and nobody calls those riots. Oh and last time i checked the UK wasnt 'the world'.
As regards 'the rest of the world' the fact is that if a story is syndicated, then it will be shown in the same light in the rest of the world. eg. Le Monde reported 'racist aggression against bystanders of a
meditteranean appearance'. (my translation) And they're a right wing paper, I can only
speak French and English but I think everyone but Johnnie could see fairly easily see they're racists.
just becasue a story is syndicated doesn't mean its accurate. what happened in sydney was not a riot by any stretch of the imagination - i dont care what Le Monde reported. When men of "meditteranean appearance" beat up the lifeguard did the "quality national papers" in th UK label that incident a racial riot?
No, because it wasn't a riot. A riot is a 'turbulent disturbance created by a large number of people', which is what we all saw on the syndicated pictures. Maybe you should have had a look at the TV instead of off your verandah.
what happened to that lifeguard was absolutley no different to what happened to those others who got targeted. just because there werent any cameras around when it happened doesnt make it any less serious. obviously i also saw what the media had to say about it, i still think that calling them racial riots is a massive exaggeration. you know it doenst hurt to quesiton what is being said in the media once in a while.
Liberal. Labor. One and the same Communists dressed up as Socialists dressed up as capitalists.
Get rid of them ALL with a black marker at the election booth next election.

John Howard is an embarassment to the Prime Ministership. His record speaks for itself.

You criticise the British media (correctly but irrelevantly
criticising The Sun), at least there are several quality national papers
here. The guy who owns The Sun and Fox 'News' in the US, also runs the
only national paper in Australia, and most of the state ones. Soon
enough, people in NSW can have one man controlling their radio, papers
and a TV station - thanks Johnnie!
