  • OOOOH GAWSH BRING THIS BAAAAAAAACK

  • 1:10 Hooobt! :S?

  • The lyrics are from the Gayatri Mantra:

    oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ

    tát savitúr váreniyaṃ

    bhárgo devásya dhīmahi

    dhíyo yó naḥ pracodáyāt

  • Best mini series ever.

  • if only i could find the episodes of this series online, then i wouldn't need to wait till Saturday

  • if only i could find the episodes online

  • @DARTHVADER124354 dude, there is tvduck.com, project free tv, type in on google battlestar galactica project free tv, ull find it. i just downloaded all 4 seasons in one torrent though so i wouldnt have to deal with lagging and such..

  • @DARTHVADER124354 In Google just type cuevana and Batlestar Galactica

  • 4:20 - what's the name of this song?

  • @pixelcoremusic The name of the song at 4:20 is called "Gortoz a ran - J'attends" (means "I wait"). The composer is Breton and the singer is Denez Prigent who performs it with Lisa Gerrard.

  • hahah i can now watch this epic Video , its was long time blocked in germany.

    Firefox <3

    Wonderful Video , amazing Music

    good wishes from Germany

  • Я ЗА САЙЛОНОВ!!!

  • Все ЛЮДИ заслужили смерть - даздравствуют светлые РАСЫ...

  • This would be wonderful for Avatar, but the music they have for Avatar is better.

  • I love the Hans Zimmer music. For some reason it just sounds right in space battle footage.

  • The music that starts around 2:10, im assuming that's from "backdraft" which you called the "main" theme. Well the main theme was different so dose that song have a more specific name so i can find it? thanks, cool video

  • @newm123 It's the opening theme of Backdraft. ;)

  • @Janicsar1986 Ive listen to the entire soundtrack and that song never played :( I also put "opening theam backdraft" in a google and youtube search nothing came up. Are you sure its backdraft? Im pretty sure its not. Can you link me the youtube video that plays that song?

  • @newm123 Sorry, my mistake. At 2:10 it's the "Enemy of the State" main theme by Trevor Rabin. ;)

  • im battlestarglactica online game flying a maul called battlestar_kain_bsk1

    stupied typo at 1st 1 :)

  • ihbattlestarglactica online game flying a maul called battlestar_kain_bsk1

  • Netflix has it in HD streaming as well. All four episodes.

  • I found a place to watch the series, All four seasons, it's called tehcake dot com

  • This series is the god of scifi. It has it all. Epic story, interesting mutidimensional characters andgreat music. I have never been quite as addcted to a tv series as with this one.

  • I just started to play Battlestar Galactica online, its like E.V.E but its Battlestar, so freakin fun! Anyways ran across this video, it makes me want to log back on & re-watch the series lol

  • @HolySwordsman1 Oh. cleared things up, thanks :D

  • *SPOILER*

Hey, anyone else notice how long Galactica stood against that station in the finale, when the Pegasus got took down by like 3 measly baseships? The stations cannons looked at least 3 times bigger than anything the baseships had, and at least 2 times more.

  • @Cheesedays *SPOILER* they were too close to use nukes and main artillery, which is what mopped up the pegasus. my guess, cuz i remember pegasus got nailed with like 4 nukes at once.

  • @JoaneIsaacsi Its not too great

  • @JoaneIsaacsi yeah i played, its simple, but fun. once u get a hang of the controls ull realize they are pure genius, it takes a long time to level up though and ur kinda useless without getting a bigger, better ship.

  • amazing... the best part happens to start on 4:20. :)

  • ~Heres like a thing which they might have said:

The Colonies lay in ruins, civilization as we know it has gone. Humanity is on the brink of total annihalation, but the fight has just begun and HUMANITY SHALL PREVAIL!

  • Lee "To the Galactica!"

    *Group Cheers*

Lee "To the Men and Women of Galactica!"

    *Group Cheers*

Lee "To the Admiral! Who commands the Men and Women of Galactica!"

    *Group goes crazy*

    Best scene ever lol.

  • why did I not watch all of the episodes when I could?!:(.

stupid me...I always thought it was boring instead its not....

  • @chapynl Get netflix and you can watch all 4 seasons online

  • Awesome! thanks for the extended opening! I am watching the entire series for the 10th time now, got my family hooked into it as well :)

  • This is one of the most epic videos I've ever seen.

  • 51 people need to be airlocked

  • 3:22 La música pertenece a la película "La marea roja" de Hans Zimmer. El mismo compositor de piratas del caribe, batman, y otros clásicos.

  • this music i AMAZING!!!!

  • whats the music at 3.24? I love it...it fits so well

  • @Federalist92 It's some song from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

  • @ConradGoodwin Thats not from pirates its from crimson tide

  • man all i want id the part where it says the cylons were created by humans. they evolved. that song. gets me everytime i see it.

  • crimson tide, nice

  • what is a song's name played between 2:00 to 3:30 ??

  • cool ~ XD i think these cool song will be mine background song for my game vids :P i love this song ~ full with concentration of battle

  • wow!.. i cant believe this its a total war between humans and cylons!..... who will win? guess who!

  • @neil5634 seriously? if you've not seen the entire series all the way through then I think you're in for a shock!.

  • What is the name of the music at 4:20?? =)

  • SPOILER ALERT: The first two seasons are the best. This video captures the fight they had within them, the courage to save Caprican culture. The final episode is so sad, they've won, but they are so demoralized they can't go on so they flush their entire civilization and culture down the toilet. They had the spirit in the first two seasons, the will to fight on, but it's completely broken by the end that it doesn't even matter that they've won, the series ends with the suicide of Caprica.

  • @videoguy604 so sad that they are sad that they won.Who get's demoralised by winning. It's like...I've won, but I feel so bad about it, that I'm going to kill myself, goodbye cruel world...hahaha what a load of ultracr*p. I think I would prefer watching Alice in wonderland.

  • originals better

  • Mass effect as a TV series. BY the way the last series of Doctor WHo sucked! Also the Christmas special was astrocious. Being a whovian, I watch the upcoming series, however, if it gets worse thats it! WTF multicoloured Daleks?

  • Mass effect as a TV series.

  • After I'm done watching all of Doctor Who, I am watching BSG again.

  • Gotta hand it to Syfy channel, their shows have some of the best theme songs I've ever heard.

  • @trilbynhiss most of the songs arnt syfy channel there done by Bear McCreary and some buy raya Yarbrough

  • nice work good video tribute

  • 4dafanz

  • @tillfu My thoughts, almost exactly. Many similarities btwn B5 & BSG, such as story arcs & continuity, which are things that most science fiction shows w / never have, because their writers are lazy.

  • Isn't part of this song from Pirates of the Caribbean? I'm almost certain of it.

  • @lUvsUngU none of the music is from pirates

  • is this song Gortoz A Ran ?

  • ok, so i did interpritive to this in an isi competition... with a BOW and ARROW?

    honestly.

though it does sorta go well with Ranger's Apprentice as well, but still.

  • this inspired me to watch bsg again

  • @mrbookie3 Then the video achieved its goal. :)

  • @Janicsar1986 it inspired me to watch the bsg again too

  • BSG fans will probably crucify me for this.......but there is no fire in space.

    Had to be said.

  • @GrizzlerBorno Lemme test that upon your body! :P (we know that, no oxygen = no fire)

  • @GrizzlerBorno That's right, but exploding ships throw a mass amount of oxigen to space from their combustion tanks: as long as there's oxygen there will be fire (for a very brief timespan, which you can see in most explosions fromf the video).

  • @Calick Do the ships in BSG use Hydrogen-Oxygen solid fuel engines like (some of) our real life space ships? I thought they used some magic space fuel....tillium, or something? (from that one episode in Season 1, where they start to run out of fuel?) I just watched Season 1 so I could be wrong.

  • @GrizzlerBorno Doesn't matter the fuel you use: there has to be a combustion, which is produced by Oxygen. This is a basic concept in thermodynamics.

  • @Calick Did they ever explicitly state that it IS a Combustion engine? If not, Tillium could be a radioactive substance (It sounds like it) used in a Fission Engine? Like a miniature Nuclear Power plant?

And of course, Fission engines need no Oxygen(since nothing is being "Burnt"). They have no other Combustible components in them either, so.....

  • @GrizzlerBorno Definitely not fission xD (it's primitive for BSG standards, also hitting a Viper would probably throw poisonous isotopes out to space, which is never mentioned in the show). Could be fusion (much more advanced); I'm not a fusion expert but I think if you make a fusion-powered ship to explode, it'll make fire for a while because that's a lot of heat energy getting sucked out to space. Anyways, fire explosions are very brief in the show, so yeah, you can have that fire in space.

  • @Calick ...How is Fission more primitive than Combustion? But yeah, it could be fusion. In which case, there would be an explosion as far as my knowledge tells me.....so, okay.

Though I will say Tillium does not sound like a gas, and Fusion can only take place with Hydrogen and Helium as far as we know today(even in stars). But suspension of Disbelief and all that..... :)

  • @GrizzlerBorno It's primitive compared to fusion, that's what I meant ^^ But yeah, combustion would be kind of primitive as well (I was based in our current technology), so I'll go with fusion or something more fantastic. But the Galactica ships use a lot of energy in case they use some kind of fusion core, that'd explain the fire in explosions (more like, heat).

Also, I remember there was an episode wich showed the Tillium refinery. I'd say it was some sort of fossile fuel.

  • @Calick ".....so I'll go with fusion or something more fantastic."

    ......Like Magic ^_^......

Also, Fossil fuels on an Asteroid floating out in space? My understanding of how fossil fuels are formed (namely, Decay of ancient, buried plant matter) indicates that that seems like a super-improbable occurrence since, obviously, Asteroids can't support plant-life.

  • @GrizzlerBorno Good point. However, some asteroids could be part of planets that once had life. But yeah, that's very unlikely for such a frequent fuel as tillium in the Galactica universe. Fusion wins, lol.

  • Hey, what's the last song used in the credits, if I may ask? It's a shame you left out its title.

  • @Chameleonard Denez Prigent - Gortoz A Ran. It's a shame you can't take a look at the bottom side of the player, where it is clearly named (or read the previous pages, as I already answered this question countless times).

  • @Janicsar1986 Oops! Sorry. And I have looked at some previous pages, maybe just not far enough back. Thanks.

  • @Chameleonard ;-)

  • @Janicsar1986 if u are that bothered about ppl asking bout the song why dont u put it in the description :)

  • @sheffguy29 Because it is listed at the bottom of the flash player. :)

  • The final episode makes you wish the Cylons had won.

  • @videoguy604 lol, I feel your pain.

  • o sa treaca mult timp pana o sa mai vedem un seria sf asa bun

  • Did anyone else notice that the part playing 1:10-2:00 sounds exactly like a song from the second Pirates of the Caribbean movie?

  • I just raped the replay button

  • 50 people are skinjobs.

  • halo should've been this great

  • @PrimevalHunter300 Well it isn't. Not even close.

  • Comment removed

  • Well, it's pretty overkill as being an "extended" opening. I believe 0:35 through 1:07 should be cut out, mainly because the fonts and the style you used for them doesn't suit the consistency in design. At 2:00 is where it should end.

  • Last song gorteoz a ran I was waiting, waiting for a long time In the dark shadow of grey towers In the dark shadow of grey towers In the dark shadow of rain towers You will see me waiting forever You will see me waiting forever One day it will come back Over the lands over the seas The blue wind will return And take back with it my wounded heart I will be pulled away by its breath Far away in the stream wherever it wishes Wherever it wishes far away from this world Between the sea and the stars
  • Man just watching this video makes me want to watch all the show all over again . Great work "!

  • So say we all !

  • @tillfu i'm going to say it and throw firefly into the mix as well. they are all good!

  • Great editing.

    Great pics.

*Could have done without the cartoons though*

  • fuuukkkk offfqqqqq

  • Haha, this music video has all my favorite soundtracks, BSG, Crimsontide, and Blackhawkdown ;P I was looking for some inspirational music this morning since I just got paid to go out and spend some money. This hit the spot. :P

  • 48 Cylons watched this video.

  • its good to see people are still looking this clip up. the music is as epic as the series was. Battlestar Galactica was one of those shows i truuully felt sad when it ended and i am glad they ended it so profecionaly and in spectactular fashion.

  • Epic... BSG is my favourite sci-fi

  • Did you know that they´re singing the gayatri mantra!

    Good music! :)

  • @tillfu Ummm... No. Best Show ever. Even replaced the last great show: Farscape.

  • @jymbo1969

Right - it´s a matter of taste of course, but b5 and battlestar gal. are some of my all time favorites - farscape had an extreme cool storyline though - and a big surprise Stargate Universe - in my point of view of course !

  • Am i the only one who having an opening with a new song but completely same clips in the middle of the series didn't sit right with?

Btw i wanna hear the first opening song. Its better than second imo.

  • Best Sci Fi/ Drama series of all time..hands down

  • nice, its good

  • Awesome how you spliced a bit of Pirates of the Caribbean in there, fit in very nicely :)

  • @ohhailnah You be trolling.

  • @tillfu oh b5 was great

  • Be deprived of your entire planet; way of life. Maintain the will to live. Retain the human civilities, pleasantries, you've become accustomed to. Constant state of war. Survive. So say we all.

  • @tillfu FUCKING NERDS YOU MAKE THE TV SHOW STUPID SHOWS LIKE THIS THAT IS JUST PURE BULLSHIT

  • @bajs47m16

thank you so much for your sophisticated comment. Lucky enough that smart people like you are not responsible for the production of tv shows, otherwise we´d probably had more "big brother " shows and so on. Nice insight of your perspective of things ! My advice : Get some of your brain cells - if still there ( it does not really seem like that ) - working ! And again : Get used to the fact, that people like me will influence the media world - and that´s good that way. Or go and f y!

  • @tillfu i dont like shows like big brother its just crap. lol at your comment i can just imagine what a nerd you are in real life. use your brain and realize that this show is pure crap and stop filling your brain with sci fi space shit that dont even mather

  • @bajs47m16

So u think asimov etc. does not matter ? no brain cells, pobably raed 1 book in his life but knows exactley how it works. Me, I am a nerd ? If you say so, you have to know for sure - actually u don´t have the slightest idea what I am doing in real life....anyway, to argue with u seems kinda sensless, said it before, as long as u think mc luhan is a hamburger go back to ur cave and bark to the wall stupid motherfucker !

  • @tillfu lol hypocrite you dont know me either. i dont fill my brain with crap like you. i really bet that you are a nerd irl you homo

  • @bajs47m16

nice or amazing, still lowering the level, new stage of total stupidity. I believe that you do not fill your brain with crap ´cause your brain seems to be crap itself and from what I know from you by now I can say that´s more than I like to know. So you hate nerds, homos, what else ? So you, besides being stupid as shit you´re also full of brown shit in your head ? But anyway, I don´t think that you´re important enough so that it matters - piece of low level iq shit !

  • @tillfu homo racist. what you got against brown ppl. you nerd probably sit and play world of warcraft all day.

  • @bajs47m16

sight - we´ll end this because actually I don´t have the time to waste my time with a stupid shit head nazi like you - and no, I don´t play world of war craft, as a matter of fact, right now I do not play at all - can´t afford the time, but just drop it - no sense in arguing with you. shit heads like you really don´t play a role in what I do and I have the privillege to work with intelligent people, not low life´s like you - but still I love galactica and hate nazis like you !

  • @tillfu haha i trolld you the whole conversation and you didnt notice haha

  • @bajs47m16

the last time ! what´s trolld supposed to mean ? that word does not exist ! so if it is an insult I do not understand it -too bad - but again, let´s leave that -

  • @tillfu lol homo i bet you got your nose in the books all the time. people make words not books

  • Best ever sci-fi without exception, imo

  • This + Deep Space 9 are my two favorite ones; that new V shows potential although it's stooped in demonic analogy.

  • next to LOST the best Schience Fiction Show ever. I also really like the soundtrack!

  • What language are the vocals sung in? It doesn't sound like English. Thanks.

  • @hippofat10

It's sung in sanskrit, it's called Gayatri Mantra

  • @Tomiredfly Ah ok thanks.

  • this vid is very gooooooooood.

  • @nicki563038

Good movie choices. And Junk food is putting it mildly:D

  • WOOOOW! Man this is awesome job! Ty for this!

  • Excellent work!

  • what language is this?

  • @tillfu maybe it's just because i was too young when babylon came out to experience it at the time, but i totally disagree. the effects are way too cheesy for me to handle.

  • @darthmooman

well, maybe, one of the first series that was shot almost totally before green screen/virtual set - today that might seem a little cheesy - but also the first series with no!! cute robots and no kids - very dark, the total contrast to the star treck series, which is undoubltly full of moral...but as usual that´s a matter of taste, some like it, some don´t, and that´s good that way -

  • what s the first song name???

  • Very good job!!!!!!!!!!! Galactica... one of my favorite series. Thank you for post it.

  • Pretty nice work. The music has a Christopher Franke feel to it about the 2:05 mark. good work guys!

  • @scarabY2k

Actually about 1:21 The influence of Christopher Franke starts appearing, quite subtly, sounding like the B5 opening theme, or one of its dramatic sequences. Not a coincidence, I think.....

  • @knoxvilleguy2 AGREED! Does Franke have any musical work in this series?

Speaking of Franke/Galactica/B5, I wish the folks who did the New Galactica would do the same for B5 Crusade. and complete a great series unfinished.

  • @scarabY2k

Nope - This is all pretty much Bear McReary.

I thought that TNT did wrong by " Crusade ", just like Fox screwed over " Firefly ". Sci - Fi sequels / spinoffs have to fight like salmon swimming upstream to spawn as it is.

  • @knoxvilleguy2

You ain't kidding! Sci Fi can pump out those crappy SciFi original movies every Saturday night movie like candy from a Pez dispenser, instead they should invest that money to have the "Galactica" folks redo Crusade, with the help of JMS of course:)

  • @scarabY2k

Actually, I learned that most of the " crappy SciFi original movies " that the SyFy / " Siffy " channel shows are produced by Asylum Studios, & they produce DELIBERATELY BAD " B - movies " that look like the scripts were written by guys who smoked several baskets of weed & maybe did a LOT of cocaine.

I do hold out hope that something like B5 or B5 Crusade could be brought to the " Siffy " channel. JMS hasn't done anything since the series " Jericho ".

  • @knoxvilleguy2

Woah, Woah, wait a minute!!! JMS had a hand in Jericho?!?! No wonder it was one of my favorite shows!

I never knew the name of the studio who did the Hippie-lettuce induced deliberate B movies, but it's obvious they take pride in producing crap. There's too many good SciFi classics they could be showing in their place. Asylum Studios must have some racy pics of some SyFy exec and ransom is to let the studio release their hot garbage or they'll expose the pics. Truly sad.

  • @scarabY2k

JMS wrote the initial story idea. He may have been a Creative Consultant the way that Harlan Ellison was on B5.

Asylum appears to be the " Ed Wood " of Sci - Fi / horror / fantasy / dreck. Some of them are so limburger - cheesy that they're actually funny ( sort of ).

I wish that they w / run some science fiction gems from the 40's, 50's, 60's, etc.

  • @scarabY2k & SciFi / SyFy / " The Siffy Channel " could run some of the classics instead of the Asylum crap. " The Day the Earth Stood Still ", " The Time Machine ", " The Invisible Man, " " War of The Worlds ", " Colossus: The Forbin Project ", " DEMON SEED ", just to name a handful. There's Filet Mignon to be had, & they're serving junk food !!

  • thankyou avia4563

  • Gayatri Mantra é o nome dessa música.

Mantra Hindu de liberação e conhecimento.

Gayatri Mantra is the name of this song.

Hindu mantra of liberation and knowledge...

  • Comment removed

  • Very nice tribute.

  • Put down "Black Hawk Down Theme"

  • whats the name of the song at 4:30?

  • @omri16niv its from the movie black hawk down...and the song is called Gortoz a Ran by Denez Prigent .the song is on itunes..just search for the black hawk down soundtrack and it'll be there

  • There's a different version of the Hindu mantra song at the end of The Plan, quite a refreshing change after about a million or so episodes, also throws it in a slightly different light.

  • What is the name of the song you use that starts at 1:10?

  • whats the name of the song starting at 1:11? i like it a lot

and this video was amazing! =)

  • @earthangel1405 I only care for the one at 0:00, the original opening :-) It's the Gayatri Mantra, with the actual Sanskrit lyrics. You can read them both transliterated and translated in the info section for this video:

    v=l4UPJv08c1k

    It says:

oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ tát savitúr váreniyaṃ bhárgo devásya dhīmahi dhíyo yó naḥ pracodáyāt

If you listen carefully, you see how it fits.

  • its very cool

  • @F4Wildcat - The reason why BSG fails (and it does fail) as science fiction is that it is not sufficiently "high tech." It's poor extrapolation. We're ostensibly looking at a clash between stardrive-capable civilizations with sufficient advancement in cybernetics to have created a "race" of extremely sophisticated android robots, and yet the weapons tech is really rather less advanced than what's being deployed right now.

This is by definition really bad SF.

  • Just plane bad "lazy sci-fi". I want the original back.

  • Well, the original (back in the '70s) really wasn't more than "lazy sci-fi," either.

Most television/movie science fiction fails the test of boldness in extrapolation. If you look back on the difference between what we're able to do right now and what our grandfathers were able to do a hundred years ago, you can get some rough idea of what's likely to be possible a hundred years from now.

And for the most part, "sci-fi" really doesn't do a very good job of throwing itself into the future.

  • Sorry but your wrong. The original show was mad before Buck Rogers. The sets, the costumes, the models, and Special FX were all hand made down to the last detail even storage divices. The new one used sutes bought from J.C.Pennies and sears, the clocks on the wall were purchased from wal*mart, The storage cases from a warehouse, the radios from good will, the interior of the presidents ship used sections from the movie "Air Force One", and I even saw an old fashion tap to tape reel player. LAZY!
