@riseuplikeangels yeah, I totally know where you re coming from. 'in the beginning God made Colin meloy. And it was good, very good' as we can all see.
My favorite modern day group and one of the best songs in forever to be released!! There is great music out there, you just have to find it!! Thank you Colin!!
I love this. this performance and song has a '71 era Neil Young vibe to it. Even has the fiddling with the harp trap down like neil used to back in the day.
The portion from 3:05 to 3:30 gives me chills every time I listen to this. It sounds pure beyond anything I've heard before in a live performance. Grand.
maybe I'm ignorant but I genuinely do not understand how someone could dislike this. everyone is definitely entitled to their own opinion for sure but I'm completely discombobulated.
A war is being waged between who the greatest singer/songwriter of my generation is--mostly its Ben Gibbard vs. Colin Meloy but there are several other belligerent nations like Win Butler, Scott Hutchinson, Nathan Willet, and a few others trying to obtain a foothold. Who's the best though? I really can't say they're all so fucking good.
This reminds me of the summer breeze in my hair, catching fireflies in the woods, and walking along the muddy Mississippi river. In other words, what a gorgeous new song by Colin. Superb.
A panoply of song. This is Colin Meloy.

He could produce an album made up of six hours of faucets dripping and I would still listen the fuck out of it because he's Colin Fucking Meloy.

@bwilburful I believe he's saying "ambling," (a slow, relaxed walk) not "embling."

I like the guitar tone better on this one too than with his Gibby.

I would say that you guys spend too much time trying to shut down the disliker on youtube. People have their opinions.
The harmonica is A i believe, for that's what I'm using to figure out this song.

Seems really difficulty to play guitar and the harmonica at the same time!
I can barley place my fingers on the frets and strum at the same time lo

I turn this on all the time to use as background noise when I do homework. I can't, I hear it and I have to watch him perform. Dammit, Colin. . .
