I like the tempo the conductor has chosen here for "The Last Spring". Many conductors take it too fast, as if they are afraid of too much sentiment. For an even slower tempo but a truly sublime interpretation of this heartbreaking song, listen to the great Kirsten Flagstad right here on YouTube.
The exact title is "Spring", and it is one of the two Elegiac Melodies, the other being "Heartsores". I don't know the words in English (or the author of the poem Grieg set the music to), but the words are very sad...dealing with a dying person and the last spring they will ever see
Äntligen! Jag har letat i en evighet efter det här stycket. Allt man får om man söker efter Vaaren med Grieg är Pianostycket ur "Lyriska stycken". Tusen tack!

I would argue and say that Norway's fjords is the most beautiful nature in the world.
This comes from a Swede now living in Canada (both also very beautiful nature).
It is so serene , like paradise.
I would imagine if you went there to a nice log cabin and spend your time there like in these pictures, all the worlds troubles would just melt away.
It looks like a place untouched by wars and madness.
Shit I'm turning poetic here, ha ha.

isn't it called 'The Last Spring' in English, fantastic piece, I loved it ever since my string band played it two years ago.

Beautiful photos...such poignant music--the words to this song are heartbreaking. Could we know the name of the orchestra and conductor?

I don't know the exact band playing here, but the piece is called The Spring or To the Spring by Edvard Grieg
