Why do they actually want to be so much on the consumer market with their MACs. MACs are used in graphics and film editing. The price in those cases is let's say understandable. But for an average consumer, a MAC is really way too expensive. The consumers have ipods, and the rich/snob ones iPhones. Not enough?

As a proud PC user, I loved the commercials and how they put Mac features up against PC features, while making the Mac features seem superior. That was smart advertising. But now alot of the ads are of PC complaning about Vista. If someone who's buying say, a laptop for the first time is watching, what's their reason for buying a mac? Because vista sucks? There are not even close to 'millions' of antivirus programs for Mac. Though I do run one just in case. You might be interested to know that most of them scan primarily for Windows viruses so you don't infect your friends' PCs.

Good Choice! My School has all 600Mhz iMac G3s in the computer labs, 4 eMacs (1-1.25Ghz G4) in each classroom, iBook G4s in a cart for one class at a time. A lot of kids hate them but not me! My friends at school say "Macs suck" cause they break. But the kids break them! Turning off the wrong way, letting stuff get burned on the screen cause they dont shut them off...

The number of viruses for windows is disproportionally greater than those for macs.
Also, who would want to? Think of the notoriety one would obtain from writing the first successful Mac virus.
Mac have not announced anything as that's a cosmetics company.
Apple have since removed the message as it was outdated.

Apple don't make hardware. they use the same components as regular pc's, they just price them higher and change the names on some of the crappy gpu's.

@vozzz2 Most mac fans know nothing about computers. Thats why they get mac, Apple trys to sell their macs as being all cool and hip and easy, when really its all lies. The mac has the same hardware that is in pc's. Yur a typical apple idiot vozzz2, cause the macs processor (a piece of its hardware) is made by intel, and that same processor chip is available on all types of computers. Mac is just a stupid overpriced fad. Your paying extra money for style, big fucking deal.

@invisiblecapacitator Although, it seems the bigger package you get, ironicall, the less stuff comes with it. I.E., an XP home edition came with a bunch of trial software on it, and a bunch of games and media players. But the Pro version came only with movie maker and windows media. And practically nothing else. (this does not include web browser, they both came with it.)

why so many thumbs down guys? all i hear about vista is that the only ones worth buying are the higher end versions, and they all cost more than osx leopard. Leopard is cheaper than the versions of vista that people actually want. fact. theres no 'thumbs down' to be had about it, its just a fact. and leopard is more stable. do tell why all the thumbs down, im just pointing out facts. u obviously cant handle them

Starter is available in developing nations such as some South American Nations, Eastern European Nations, and some Asian nations. Enterprise is only available through some Microsoft business program. Add in Basic, Home Premium, Vista Business, and Ultimate. Then you've got six.

@scanjet1600 Really? Mac computers are hard to use? Because for anybody else, it's the other way around. It took me way too long to figure out how to access my stage devices on a PC. Mac makes a nice icon on the desktop, and in the finder windows. Nice and easy.
That's only one example, but there are PLENTY more.

in the days when I don't know about Macs, I prefer Windows 98 or 2000 to Xp! cuz XP keeps popping out bubbles telling me to "install", "restart", "dangerous device removal". I just want an operating system that minimizes my frustration, not maximizing it...
And of cuz, once i know about macs, i immediately made the switch. And it was the best choice ever made in my whole life.

Good Choice! My School has all 600Mhz iMac G3s in the computer labs, 4 eMacs (1-1.25Ghz G4) in each classroom, iBook G4s in a cart for one class at a time. A lot of kids hate them but not me! My friends at school say "Macs suck" cause they break. But the kids break them! Turning off the wrong way, letting stuff get burned on the screen cause they dont shut them off...
