Dont freeze the rats! Drown them first. That way you wont destroy some of the nutrients, and you wont have to wait to thaw it first before you feed your snake.
you should feed frozen thaw, it's much better for your snake ... sorry i've seen too many snakes die by being bitten by mice .. and that boa should be eating rats, it'll stunt it's growth if you feed it mice for too long

Rats are ugly, especially compared to many all of my snakes (6) and this beautiful boa featured here. Rats can be intelligent and all but there's nothing like a snake that knows you and wants to hang out around your wrist or shoulders for a couple hours... Snakes Fucking Rock!

I would think so. A hamster is moody and irritating. A snake will always be interested in you, not in what you have in your hands. Now cats and dogs are great too. But you can't compare the experience of ownership. They are not usually juxtaposed within the personality of one person. And most humans are afraid of the unknown... like reptiles vs. fuzzy mammals. Care for a walk on the wild side?

I used to feed live, I do the F/T now.
I see nothing wrong with Live if the Rat is healthy and you stick around until your sure it's dead.
A rat bite to the mouth of a Boa can become infected so
as long you you keep an eye on the Kill you will be ok.
