actually the 24-105mm lens is pretty bad for low light video. I have a couple of videos posted with 50mm f1.8 lens....they are very good....check them out if you like...
in video mode the camera set aperture automatically. in video mode, there is no shutter (the lid to the sensor is open throughout the process unless you force it to focus in quick mode).
No HD????

If you compare the image quality with a Sony FX1, for example, the 5D beats them in terms of dynamic range.
I have a friend with an FX1 and it doesn't even get near the quality of the 5D.
I think the video quality of the new SLRs puts to shame many video cameras of the big players in the industry.
I know it's not 3CCD and all that, but who cares when you can see both the sky and the street with the same exposure?
My opinion.

my main problem is with the usage off CMOS instead CCD the f***ing rolling shutter problem what generates skew images on fast obejcts.
another problem is 3d tracking becomes false data because skew images on handheld action (steady too) and digital image stabiliziation looks bad too
but ure right this is the best cam!!! i think about to buy one, not for work, for me.
