  • I love it when people say "Hey, we need a balance of power!" bu they were just fine with having a Republican majority in the house, senate and a Republican president! Funny how the tide has turned and they shout "Inequality!" Oh wait! That's a Liberal value!

Thank you for pronouncing Oregon correctly, Josh. Merkley 08!

  • We are sunk. I sailed a sunken ship across the bottom of the sea, and, as I stood there at the helm, the water swirled about me. Slack, the profile of my sails Black, the light to guide me My muddy wake last aft the stern and my sad heart beat inside me. Too late to bring her to the top for the sea did doom us all Such, the composition of my thought because of the beginning of the fall.
  • Man, after 2000 and 2004's close races and the weird state voter-count/fraud (Florida and Ohio), i never, ever thought there would be a "democratic tide" in 08... i don't know if we as a party really should be thankful that the recession had occurred... this would've been a different race, otherwise.

  • well if obama wins and if theres democratic power in the executive slot the legislative slot should relinquish at least one or both houses to the republicans to balance out the power between the parties. cmon I poke your butt I poke yours?

  • A close election? Check out the clip by Musicians4Obama and pass it on.

  • There's about 28% not shown in the Minnesota poll results.

Josh said Dean Barkley got 15% in the polling.

    Where's the other 13?

  • any shit!!!

  • Good roundup. Very concise.

  • If you liked this video... check ours out: SnBR7MRRks0

  • In the unlikely event that McCain wins, Democrats are guaranteed McCain's Senate seat since Gov. Janet Napolitano (D-AZ) will appoint a Democrat to replace McCain. That would be frosting on the cake for Democrats.

  • How bad do you have to be to even remain close in polling to a convicted felon?

  • It's Alaska... it's FAR RIGHT! Whites make up over 90% the population. It is crazy they rather vote for a felon than a Democrat huh?

  • Did you even watch the video?

Begich was doing better in the polls than Stevens, and that was before Stevens got convicted.

  • Okay? my point was even with him facing FELONY charges, he still was extremely competitive. You speak as if what I said wasn't fact, Alaska is a Red state. You must have replied to the wrong post. This investigation didn't just start it's been documented. Hell, that's partially why Palin is so popular, because Stevens is a fuck up.

  • I don't think any of the current polling reflects the conviction, as that just happened on Tuesday. The first post conviction polling should show up tomorrow.

  • I wonder if 2008 will lead to a 5th party era...

  • The fucking scumbag Chambliss needs to go down!! That lowlife piece of shit was calling into question Max Cleland's patriotism during their 2002 race. Cleland lost 2 legs and an arm in Vietnam!!! Chambliss is the fucking underside of the barrel!!!! It would also make my night if McConnell and Dole went down. And, the icing on the cake would be that fascist Nazi bitch Bachman going down in Minnesota.

  • Al Franken? Haha! :)

  • Al Franken will do an outstanding job representing us in Minnesota. He's intelligent, articulate and a good person. Sen. Coleman is a dishonest sycophant. Barkley is a good man, but in my opinion his vision is simply not as compelling as Franken's.

Minnesota politics is anything but run-of-the-mill!!

  • Y lo peor, the worst friend, that hollywood movies sentence the bad guys allways are dressed in black and the buenos are blancos.

  • Ooooooooo..... if we could take Chambliss and McConnell out it would be a very good year.

  • this was a great video except when the guy's head was blocking the state data.

  • Glad you mentioned Lieberman, from my homestate. If he is going to be the deciding vote where the Dems need the 60 yea or nay, we really don't know where Joe will stand.

It does seem the last few days he has been backtracking on his smacktalk, but I think he's burned way too many bridges with fellow Dems. Then again, he has to start thinking about his own future.

I think he will switch parties before his next re-election campaign.

  • what about bachmann v tinklenberg

  • it a congressional race..

  • only the most satisfying congressional race if Tinklenberg wins

  • That's for dog catcher.

  • That's in The House not a Senate race.

  • Got a tip jar?THUMBS UP MICAH.

  • i heart TPM.

  • without you I'd be lost...thanks for the walk through!....5 stars

  • The GOP deserve a spanking for what they've put this country through over the past decade, especially during Bush's tenure, and it looks like they just might get it. :)

  • thanx chucky todd

  • Almost no one is talking about George Bush nowadays. I think he destroyed almost everything: The country, economy, supreme court, middle class, health care, McCain and his own party. Yes, McCain and his own party. Republican party doesn't stand for what it originally stood for thanks to Bush. He is the ultimate destroyer.

  • clear cut and informative. Thank you. And thanks for pronouncing Oregon correctly! ;-D

  • very informative..thx

  • Really like your analysis videos. The mainstream media is too afraid to go this deep into detail for fear of being boring.

  • Jeff Merkley is my boy. He's going to be the next Paul Wellstone.

  • WONDERFULLY LUCID, JOSH! TPMTV ROCKS!

    COME ON, LANDSLIDE!! WOOOO-HOOO!

    peace

  • PLEASE DO NOT VOTE FOR TOM O'BRIAN FOR ILLINOIS STATE LAWYER THING.

Seriously, he was my hockey coach. He's insane, he screamed in my face, and his wife sent my mother a very rude email saying that my mother and my father are bad parents, AND sent it to other people. Coward. He'll F this place up, so... please.

  • but what if they were right?

  • i love this comment. ... HAHA! i hope he loses.

  • Oh, I hope so too. Seriously, my mom still has that letter archived. She called the board of hockey or whatever and they flipped the whole thing around. It was awesome.

Plus, he kept on saying anyone from the house league sucked, when we were getting PWNED by the house temas.

  • you know what they say, bad hockey coach = bad Illinois state Lawyer Thingy!

seriously, bad people often crave power the most. go girl.

  • Will win all but Kentucky and Mississippi.

  • What the hell is "democratic tide"?

  • It is used in the rinse cycle! It gets the Repub's out lol

  • Merkley better not win in Oregon. He doesn't know what the hell he's doing.

  • merkley is far more impressive. He wont increase our taxes to record hieghts for oregon like smith did

  • apparently you haven't seen any of the debates.

  • If they get the 60 vote majority then all that "Pelosi-Reid Useless Congress" shit could be put to rest. The Republicans have filibustered more in the last session of the Senate than any time in its history. It is pathetic. Hopefully with a majority the dems will be able to make real progressive changes.

  • I'll bet your sister he wins!

Dems never bet their own sister. LOL.

  • shell suck your dick for a big mac

  • "I'm willing to bet my sister on it."

HaHa! I guess you don't think much of your sister.

  • Franken for Senate. . . because that place is just too damn serious.

  • this dude never sleeps. go to rite aid, buy some shaving cream and a razor sir.

  • The Democrats will be in power!! AWESOMENESS!!!!

  • If D gets the 60%, first on the agenda. Redistricted

  • Outstanding explanation. Thanks!

  • Can you imagine the networks giving this long and clear description of the race. Even my beloved MSNBC would just have Chuck Todd blurt out his speculation on the races in 1:20.

  • Very informative, but believe it or not, shirts with button down collars are meant to be worn with the collars buttoned down, Mr. Marshall. I hope the Democrats reach sixty senate seats so Obama can have his way like in the White House like a date with GHB in her system. j/k

  • If we fall short of 60, there won't be any hand wringing over dumping Lieberman.

  • I truly believe the Dems will have a filibuster proof majority (60+), thanks to Ted Stevens' mendacity.

  • I used to live in Colorado and I even volunteered for the Mark Udall campaign the first time he ran ...that guy totally rocks...I've been pulling for him here in Ohio!

I think the Democrats are gonna pull it off!!!!

    Obama/Biden '08

  • Excellent walk-through!!!

  • indeed!
