In the unlikely event that McCain wins, Democrats are guaranteed McCain's Senate seat since Gov. Janet Napolitano (D-AZ) will appoint a Democrat to replace McCain. That would be frosting on the cake for Democrats.

Glad you mentioned Lieberman, from my homestate. If he is going to be the deciding vote where the Dems need the 60 yea or nay, we really don't know where Joe will stand.

It does seem the last few days he has been backtracking on his smacktalk, but I think he's burned way too many bridges with fellow Dems. Then again, he has to start thinking about his own future.
