  • this is saad...

  • even so they picked actually pretty people to put in this ad.

  • but.... there's more than one version of beauty. And it is something different to everyone. People SHOULD love who they are because unless they're COMPELTELY ugly someone will probably find you beautiful... so why try to change it??

  • Everybody is beautiful in their own way no matter wat any body f.... says. If u think everybody is ugly u have an issue and should confront it. Pls beauty is not physical attractiveness is the courage of not being afraid to show the world who u really r, and that takes courage and courage brings beauty.

  • Dove you just submarined a great concept with this stupid ad. Make peace with beauty? Beauty is not a physical standard, it is a social standard. Leave it to ad execs to F up even an attempt at sincerity.

  • Beauty is so much more than physical attractiveness. Some of the most repulsive people I know aren't too bad to look at.

  • i love dove for this

  • This is a beautiful project !...

  • I agree. This false sense of self confidence propaganda that Dove seems to be espousing is truly nauseating. The last time me and my bf walked past the FUGLY girls billboard they were promoting, we both literally hurled our lunches. Bottomline - No one wants to feel like they're ordinary and common. There needs to be "standards" everyone can aspire for. It's a bi#^& that not everyone is as picture perfect as me or my model friends but that's just a harsh reality they need to live with.

  • Please, you call them not beautiful, but who the hell decides what beautiful is?

  • It's sad when we try to give kids artificial self-esteem. No, not every girl is beautiful. Instead, focus on the positive things about them rather than lie to them and tell them they're beautiful. Focus on their strengths and accomplishments. Obese girls don't have "curves". They're just fat. Ugly girls are just plain ugly. Not all of them are "beautiful on the inside." Beauty is a measure of physical attractiveness, nothing more. Stop lying to kids; start focusing on strengths and improvement.

  • idk, none of these vids hav ppl wit acne, or nebody overweight, or even with glasses

  • The bad thing is that is "dove VS 'fashion' industry"

  • I assumed he was being facetious.

  • Rickyscot- you are a bastard.

  • I have 3 daughters, all beautiful. I taught them that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. I hope they get it! If you are a parent, show this to your sons, too...they also buy into the beauty scams by wanting more of the fake beauty, expecting their women to be that, too!

    Thanks for this film!

  • waou magnifique j'adore !!

  • That was powerful, I loved it. The little girl who "hates her freckles" used to be me, I'm sure heaps of girls can relate to this. Only three percent of the population look like supermodles, so why should that be the norm? Well done dove!

  • I hate it when people make these kind of comments. It's like, hey asshole, think a little deeper! It's about not caring what people like YOU think, and accepting yourself. Most of those girls are really young, why should they work-out? They're all beautiful because they're natural and unique. If you don't understand, keep your comments to yourself, mate.

  • This is sucha good commericial.

  • they aren't the most attractive girls out there. They could probably benefit from some good make up tips, crash diets, and working out everyday a few hours and get toned up.

  • I think you missed the point of the ad, or you're being sarcastic. Either way it's the point that they are normal people with body image problems.

  • you are an ass

  • Why, so they can kill themselves on crash diets? Wear more make up to look like what the media says they should? Yoga, working out, great idea. How about not judging their looks, as I think you have? We have gotten to be a skin deep society, that's what this is about.

  • You are really mean, they are very pretty and you don't need make up to make yourself look beautiful. And crash diets are worse, they could result to anorexia and working out is important but most of these girls are very pretty and thin, I love this video much! I put it on my fav. websites.

  • really cute

  • The whole issue has to do with self confidence, and not with beauty. Young women, especially pre-teens and teens need to know that REAL BEAUTY comes from within.

  • This is the most cynical ad campaign I've ever seen.

I guarantee you that Dove did a study and found that girls who wear more make up use less Dove soap.

  • OMG that little asian girl that "wishes she was blonde" was me when I was little! Wow this commercial is good.

  • lol, I wish I was blonde and I'm a fully grown asian man. I don't wish that I was white but I do want a lighter shade of hair (actually I don't really wanna be blonde, I want that natural light brown color that does exist naturally in asian people but is crazy rare)

  • And the saddest part is that they ARE beautiful.. I liked the "lets make peace with beauty" bit

  • yeah!! let's make peace with beauty!! I really think with this kinda ads they are reaching way more girls!!

  • WOOOWWW.

    that was powerful.

  • i like this, it makes me feel better, in one way or another, i think it makes everyone feel good ^_^ its too bad half the ppl on youtube still dont accept ppl for who they are and how they look, but hey, thats the real world i guess

  • I'm so happy they're doing these ads! It's important in these times of anorexia and photoshopping.

  • I was wondering if anyone still had the original. Thanks for sharing, its my favorite version of it. The first time I saw it I got all misty.

  • this is the original. made by ogilvy toronto, canada. the US adapted it.

  • it was written in the US though.

  • Its great!! =)

  • so perfect =D

  • perfect

  • this what girls a really made of " great ad"

  • i LOVE this ad xx
